This was a beautiful property and amazing campsite. We tent camped at sunset ridge with 2 kids and 2 dogs. We had plenty of space and privacy. Having the bathhouse available was a great luxury and very appreciated by the kids. The hosts were kind, friendly and accommodating. We would definitely come back

Possums Ridge was great! We stayed at the Sunset camp and it had a great view over the mountains of the sunset. They had a few fun trails to hike on including one with a waterfall! Owners were super nice and upgraded us to the better campsite since the other group had cancelled. Would recommend!

We think Carli’s place is absolutely beautiful. It’s quiet and there are beautiful views a short hike from the camp spot. And the camp spot has an incredible deck to sit on and watch the natural surroundings. Unfortunately we had a lot of rain but even still it was a wonderful getaway and we will definitely come back!!!!

We had a great time tent camping at Possum Ridge! The camp sites were beautiful and spaced out so we had privacy. The bath house was very clean and well maintained. The owners were very accommodating, they checked on us once a day to make sure we were ok and provided drinks and popsicles for the kids along with coffee and other necessities at the common area. We definitely would come back and recommend this place to others!

Just what my sould neded! Perfect is the first word that comes to mind when I think about our stay! This location was so great we didn't even leave to kayak or hike off the property like we had planned because there is plenty to take in and enough hiking on the property there's no reason to leave! The water falls were so beautiful and the short hike to the cliff edge was perfect for taking in the sunset, we set up a hammock and chair and spent hours there! We had enough service to make and receive calls for a situation that came up at home so that was a plus! The views are like something from National Geographic! The cicadas were everywhere and extremely loud but a sound we got used to, during sunset they quiet down and the whole place comes alive with the sound of frogs, crickets, and the soothing sound of the waterfall. The deck was great it is where we set up our tent and table and chairs for hanging around! Trails were marked and wore down enough to follow easily. The hike down to the waterfall could be tricky of your not sure on your feet, getting back up will test how In shape you think you are as we found out. I have officially added this spot to our favorites list!

A beautiful piece of land to explore. The cliffs were awesome and my children loved its we took a challenging off the path hike to a creek which was fun to explore. Be careful because there is serious cliffs that are unmarked. The whole time there we had a tour guide dog. If you follow this dog it will bring you to cool places and protect you. We called the dog Shaboozey, turns out his name was Tony Montana. At night coyotes were in the area and the dog guarded our camp site. The hosts brought us farm fresh eggs for the morning and everything was quiet and clean. Would love to go back

We were a group of 6 disabled veterans on a faith based expedition, and this place was perfect! No one around and an amazing location! We stayed during an amazingly powerful storm and did not have any flooding issues. Will absolutely stay again!

The host was very accommodating and kind. We got caught in a storm and they let us stay in one of their cabins. The camping spot itself is really nice. It's secluded and has a beautiful view. They also have lots of amenities. The bathhouse included toiletries and they had a wifi spot with free water and juice. Good price and well worth staying if you plan on hiking there or nearby/at RRG

We tent camped here for 4 nights as a base for exploring the Red River Gorge area. The site was perfect for us (2 adults, Jeep camping). Set up the tent on the wooden deck using some paracord to secure it in place. Amazing sunset views, privacy, and tranquility! Highly recommend! 😎

My husband and I loved our camping experience in Cari’s the Laaand. It was fun and weekend is not enough. We loved the short hikes and our favorite is the overlook trail which of course overlooks the Daniel Boone’s Forest. There is no outhouse so better bring your portable toilet ☺️ Overall it was sooo peaceful and serene, we heard roosters at times, but we’re not bothered. The best thing is that we have the place on our own during our stay. 100% sure we’ll book our future camping trips in the Laaaand

I've stayed at around a dozen hipcamps around the country, and I have to say, this is one of my favorites. It is completely private and there is much to explore right there on the property. Easy communication with the host, available water, and a few minutes drive from some cool hikes in the red river gorge. I'll definitely be staying here again if I'm in the area.

Possum Ridge Ranch

Our remote 375 acres part farm and part natural woodland nestled up to Daniel Boone Forest is ideal for hikers and nature lovers. There are several hiking trails onsite and plenty of woods to explore. ATVs or side by sides are welcome to be used on the main gravel roads and some designated areas of our property. There is plenty of wildlife around but no hunting is allowed. Our designated tent sites do have firepits and picnic tables. Our trek in sites do not have those options. Pets are welcome for $10 per pet/per booking and they do need to be leashed/under control at all times. This is an extra so please be sure to add that if you plan to bring your pet. Please pick up after them. We are a short driving distance from West Liberty, Cave Run Lake, Grayson Lake, Carter Caves, Morehead, Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge. We are approximately 20 minutes from the nearest store so you'll want to come prepared. We are located in West Liberty (Morgan County). There is a centrally located bathhouse with toilet, shower and sink and a hose for potable water. We have firewood for sale for $15 per bundle and is an extra option when booking(use what you need during your stay and it is located at the tent sites), you can bring your own and you are welcome to gather from the surrounding area but please do not cut down any living trees/limbs.

When you want to get away to nature, what do you envision? We're a family that loves to camp; and while we love a stop at a KOA or community campground, we sometimes crave quiet time in nature without the noise and distraction of other campers. That's what makes The LAAAAND so special. The property is comprised of 50 pristine acres, with a mix of fields and woods, that bump up against another 250 acres owned by our family friends. The southern perimeter of the property is all cliff line, so you feel truly remote. The possibilities of sound pollution are limited to a far-off dog barking, horses being ridden down a nearby trail, or the possible hum of a distant lumber yard. Other than that, you'll mostly hear the wind rustling trees, deer and critters making their way through the woods, and possibly a waterfall at certain times of the year. Oh, and you will absolutely hear whipoorwhills, most likely at a time you'd rather not (we've decided they're charming). Over the nearly 2 decades we've owned this property we have spent countless weekends enjoying the simplest of pleasures; watching butterflies dance in the tree canopy, having dance parties at sunset on the deck, forging new trails and hiking into the unkown, sitting in the truck bed late at night gazing at a star-covered sky counting shooting stars. If you are looking for a space and place to reset and reconnect, The LAAAAND is waiting for you. My place is secluded and peaceful. Its a wooded country setting and is a primitive site. There are no facilities or utilities, there is an outhouse/self composting (follow up your business with dropping leaves in after). It may not be suitable for children as there are active brush/wood burn piles on the land. See all photos and ask questions, please. I want it to be enjoyable for all who book. It’s also noteworthy that there are dogs in the area that roam free, it’s way out in the country, there are no leash laws. I’ve never had any issues with unfriendly dogs, but always be aware. It’s at a dead end road, no thru traffic. You can stay and enjoy some amazing stargazing, (there is minimal lighting and a very dark, clear view of the night sky) and lots of peace and quiet or explore the Daniel Boone National Forest surrounding the property or travel a short distance and see so many nearby amazing areas…Red River Gorge, Natural Bridge State Park, NADA Tunnel, Sky Bridge, Cave Run Lake, Twin Knobs and Zilpo Recreation Areas, Carter Caves State Park, Grayson Lake, Rudy’s Ranch.
