I love staying here. I feel like i am far away fro. Civilization in a jungle.James is awesome. The place is quiet and relaxing. This is my second time and we enjoyed it. We reserved for two nights and had to leave after one for personal reasons but will be back.

Beautiful plot of land! Gorgeous trees. It was cool to be near the donkeys/horses. Tracey is a great host! The land is close enough to downtown Mt. Dora to bike in if you are ok crossing the highway and pedaling up a few hills.

Wow…! My husband and I stayed here for 3 days over Thanksgiving and we absolutely loved it. Our campsite was secluded and beautiful, the portos were clean, and the owner is what makes this place a real gem. James is genuinely one of the most helpful and generous people I’ve met in Florida so far.
We ran into some technical issues with our power station, and James helped us in every possible way — from letting us use his solar panels and generator to even helping us charge it at his house. He was attentive, responsive, and provided firewood whenever we needed (for a fee). We’re so grateful for everything he did, and we will 100% be back in the future.
I highly recommend staying here. The only heads-up is that if you plan on using Starlink or similar setups, there isn’t the clearest sky view. We were able to get it working, and I was able to work, but there were some interruptions from tree cover — just something to be aware of.

The campsite was beautiful and the motion sensor solar lights were an awesome help at night. The tree cover keeps the campsites cool and shady. They have lots of cool things to see. The kids loved seeing the animals and being able to explore the camground freely. I would also recommend visiting wakiva springs while youre in the area!

We loved our stay on the farm! The property was well kept and the campsites were set up nicely. We did visit during the off season, so we had the place to ourselves except for one night. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. The farm animals were so cute. Lastly, the farm cats were the best! They both came up to us for some love and attention. The one cat, Spurs, sat on my lap at our campsite one of the nights as we sat by the camp fire. We will definitely book again!

Stopped in while passing through. I assured James I would be there before dark. Of course I lingered too long and got there tired and in the dark.
I missed the clearly obvious sign and wondered if my GPS had led me wrong. James came out to gather me in and show me to the perfect site for the night.
Private, peaceful, great for what I did passing through, although I did take time for the Lake Apopka North Shore Wildlife Drive - highly recommended as well.
Great place to stay.

After a late night out, I started my second day at The Oaks with an early coffee run and breakfast, then came back to soak in the scenery—and that’s when I was like I have to stay again. The property is incredibly quiet and beautiful, with a peaceful energy that’s hard to find. I hadn’t had much downtime the day before, but this morning gave me a chance to check things out.
I took a ride up to the Citrus Tower and enjoyed another coffee at their fantastic little shop, then spent the rest of the morning thrifting at local shops (always a favorite pastime). Later, I made my way to Lake Louisa—my absolute favorite spot in the area—and honestly, I want going to go there but I needed to see more nature. And it didn’t disappoint .
I’m already thinking about coming back for a longer stay just to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. For anyone looking for a solid base near Disney but away from the “bubble”, or Clermont, or Orlando. This is the spot for you.
Oh, and I almost forgot so as I was walking around and the couple times that I came in and out on the driveway, I noticed the property has a bunch of hidden gems basically art. All hidden and nestled within the property in the trees, a bunch of purpose items which is right up my alley.

We spent Halloween weekend at North Shore Relic Ranch to get away from the trick-or-treaters since Halloween really isn’t our thing. We come to Mount Dora around this time every year for either the craft festival or the plant sale, and this spot was a perfect base for that.
It was a cool weekend — overnight temps in the 40s and 50s — and we arrived later than planned, but were greeted right at the gate by the camp host, James, who was very pleasant and communicated well through the Hipcamp app. Our site was a convenient pull-through for our small camper and came with a fire ring, table, and chairs, which was a nice touch. We brought a small generator to power our electronics, and it worked out perfectly.
We stayed two nights, explored the property, and took a drive out to the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive — highly recommended if you enjoy birding, photography, or spotting gators in their natural environment. The property definitely lives up to its name with all the classic old vehicles scattered around, adding a unique rustic charm.
Overall, it was a peaceful and memorable weekend, and we’d happily stay again!

I booked last-minute for a quick trip that included visiting friends in Clermont and heading into downtown Orlando that evening. The location was ideal—just a few miles from my friends and close enough to Disney for easy back-and-forth drives.
The host asked me to text or call about 15 minutes before arrival so they could meet me at the road, wave me in, and guide me directly to my site. That kind of personal touch made arrival smooth and stress-free.
Though I didn’t spend much time at the property itself, I slept incredibly well. The site was quiet, stable, and felt safe—perfect for recharging. Everything was exactly as described, and the hosts were responsive and accommodating.

This was our second time at North Shore Relic Ranch, and it’s officially our happy place. There’s something magical about this spot — a mix of country calm, animal chaos, and the kind of hospitality that feels like coming home.
James, the host, is the real deal. A solid Army vet, honest as the day is long, and just one of those guys you instantly trust. He takes time to show you around, chat about life, and make sure everything’s perfect — even if Tom the Turkey tries to steal the spotlight (again).
Speaking of Tom, that bird is on permanent patrol. We brought him a fresh split cantaloupe, and let me tell you, it was love at first bite. He strutted around like a feathery sheriff making his rounds.
And the best part? They’ve got “Butt Nuggets” — yep, farm-fresh chicken eggs with a name that guarantees a smile every breakfast.
We fed the animals, watched the sun go down, breathed clean air, and remembered what peace actually feels like. This place is therapy with hooves and feathers.
Already planning our third visit — because once you meet Tom and James, you’re basically part of the ranch family.

This was our second time staying at North Shore Relic Ranch, and somehow it just keeps getting better. We love coming back to feed the animals, soak in the peace of the countryside, and just slow down for a bit.
James, our host, is an absolute gem — a humble and trustworthy Army vet who goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels welcome. You can tell he genuinely cares about both his guests and his animals.
Speaking of animals — Tom the Turkey was on full patrol again, strutting his stuff like he owns the place (which, honestly, he probably does). We brought him some fresh split cantaloupe, and he was very appreciative.
Don’t leave without grabbing a few of their “Butt Nuggets” (aka fresh chicken eggs). They’re delicious, and buying them is just part of the fun charm that makes this place feel like home.
If you want a stay that’s equal parts relaxing, quirky, and heartwarming — this is it. Already counting down the days till our next visit.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tracey and Rods! The campsite was spacious and there was a picnic table and chairs. We especially loved saying hi to the horses and goats in the morning. Great location close to different springs and restaurants.
