Scallop Tyme RV Campground was once an abandoned camp covered in worthless Sand Pines. There was a cabin and sheds in the center surrounded by chain link fence topped with barbwire. The timber was donated and used to fuel nearby electric plants. Once the four acres was cleared and cleaned, the idea of a RV campground started. During the early onset of Covid, my family remained in our adjacent camp because there was no Covid in the area and plenty of Covid at home. Cleaning and clearing the acreage gave us something to do. While cleaning the old, abandoned camp site inside the chain link fence; we found an old boat and motor, a Kawasaki motorcycle, and numerous civil war and Vietnam war memorabilia. The campground was opened in June 2020. Learn more about this land: Keaton Beach county boat ramp is 2 miles away. This area is known for great scalloping in the summer, red fish and trout year around. There are several guides in the area for your fishing or snorkeling pleasure. Amenities include fish cleaning table, BBQ grill, fire ring, and picnic table at each site.  Plenty of room to park your boat. Most of the RV sites are shaded. Sites 1, 2, and 5 are 50 amp. Sites 3 and 4 are 30 amp.

Frank Page purchased the Suwannee River Rendezvous Resort & Campground in 2008 which included the original seven acres of the lower portion of the Rendezvous. At that time there were only a few buildings and the primitive campground area. Frank started cleaning the area and stabilizing all the buildings. In 2009 another 20 acres was purchased, which is now considered the upper area of the Rendezvous. In 2010, another seven acres were added to the property. Frank planned and constructed the Upper Rendezvous area which was completed in 2012 and added 136 RV sites as well as the dog park, barn and pigeon coop. The dog park has five sections, for both small and large dogs, with ample room to run. Suwannee River Rendezvous Resort & Campground Pool Frank began raising pigeons in 2012. The first pigeons purchased were homing pigeons, which started the Pigeon Races that are still a fun, family favorite event on Saturday afternoons. Frank also bought and started raising other pigeons, the Birmingham Roller. Birmingham Rollers are a very popular breed of domesticated pigeons that originated in Birmingham, England, where they were developed via selective breeding for their ability to do rapid backward somersaults while flying. You can often see them flying around the Upper Rendezvous in the mornings and afternoons. These pigeons are used for our weekly Pigeon Races.

We purchased our 3.39 acres ten years ago and all that was on it was a RV and lots of pine trees, palmettos, woods and a small pond in the front of the property. Over those the years we have turned it into our little piece of heaven. We've added two more RV hookups which our son parked his camper on one. We built a fully furnished cook shed and on the back side of it we have an enclosed fish cleaning area. The cook shed also has an enclosed eating area. We are a small 50 acre ranch in the panhandle of Florida. Most of our property is pasture. Our mile-long driveway is lined with Oak Trees. We also have a few acres of Mayhaw trees in a seasonal pond. We raise Miniature Tennessee Fainting Goats to sell as family pets. We pasture a half dozen sheep for wool, live with several Peafowl for beauty and entertainment, and a couple dozen Guinee Fowl for pest control and more entertainment. A hundred and twenty-five chickens supply us with plenty of eggs. A dozen ducks offer up a few eggs a day as well. You can pet the goats and Baboy, our Potbellied pig. Walking in the pastures offers a glimpse at the local variety of flowers, birds, and insect life. Stay away from the dozen bee hives we watch over. This is a very quiet and welcoming place. We do have three Great Pyrenees gradian dogs roaming the property at night. They are mostly quiet but can occasionally spend a bit of the night barking and chasing predictors. Coyotes, foxes, and raccoons are better just off the property. Hang out, relax, read, and feed the goats. Monticello has some great restaurants, antique shops, a well-equipped sporting goods store, and a hardware store. If you are a cyclist, there are hundreds of miles of clay roads through the North Florida and South Georgia countryside. There are very few cars and lots of views. We have some routes to share. The clear-water spring-fed Wacissa River is nearby. Bring your own canoe or kayak, or rent one from one of the businesses at the head of the river. The Aucilla River is also nearby. There’s no visual barrier between the one neighbor but they were polite and not intrusive at all. It’s a very quiet area and it was great to kick back and relax. We loved hanging out by the river and our dogs were in heaven.

We really enjoyed the stay. The location is very secluded and we saw few people. The deck was nice and relaxing with great views. There is a store at the end of the road with a food truck. Other than that, you will need to drive the 20 mins to Steinhatchee, so bring everything you need We went fishing in our kayaks but caught very little. It was high winds so that might have had an impact We would definitely stay again

Wow! I really don't want to write this review to try to keep this spot private, but Vince was an awesome host that I am boasting about his place. Oak Hayvin is really a slice of heaven on Earth. The site itself is beautifully laid out - a pole barn to cover your camper (a must with the Florida sun), full camper hookup, a large grass clearing, and paths that meander through the rest of the wooded property. Our dogs were happy with space to roam and sniff, and we were happy with the seclusion into nature. Vince was super easy to communicate with and the whole package made for a great, much needed getaway for us. We liked the property so much we even asked if we could buy it! Lucky for all the hipcampers, it's not for sale. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

We really enjoyed spending the week here. The deck over the water was really enjoyable and having access to the kayaks was helpful. We biked to Keaton Beach (its only about 1.5 miles) a couple days too. Overall, its just a quiet, scenic location and we would love to stay here again. A couple notes... The septic hook up is in an awkward spot so you'll either have to position your camper/RV close or make sure you have plenty of hose. There is also a firepit in the corner by the gravel. Its not the best location, but a charcoal grill is also provided. The Keaton Beach area has very little available so make sure to pick up your supplies in Perry (its part of the appeal for us). Keaton Beach Bums is a convenience store/gas station down the road with limited selection.
