Both options sit alongside Sofkahatchee creek. We have 15 acres of untouched forest to wonder through and help you reconnect with mother nature. It’s my favorite spot for meditation and grounding. The sky is amazingly dark around here and stargazing would be at the top of my list of things I love about the property. This area is full of wildlife. Raccoons, deer, turkey, possums, armadillo, snakes, and even bears. I haven’t personally ran in to any bears but they have been sited. So, who knows what you will befriend while in the wild. The camping areas are very private. It’s part of a 50 acre lot that has recently been cleared and in the process of reseeding and preparing for a pond and farm life. So, sorry if you run in to anything that isn’t picturesque but your camp site will be beautiful and peaceful. AMENITIES: We want your stay to be as comfortable as possible! For an additional cost, we offer amenities such as tents, towels, bug deterrent, firewood, fire starters, hand warmers, s’mores kits, camping toilet, gold panning kit, games and more. Our little town of Wetumpka is only 9 miles down the road. It was featured on HGTV's Hometown Takeover in 2021, was featured in the movie Big Fish and is a picture perfect town, with many locally owned shops and restaurants. It's located right on the Coosa River, where you can kayak/canoe (coosariveradventures.com), launch your boat or fish year round at Gold State Park which also has a fantastic play area for kids with a nice walking trail that goes along the river. Stop in at Coosa River Craft House or Coosa Cleaver for refreshing adult beverages and live music. Look for the Big Fish house. It's the big white house on the hill. We are 9 miles from Lake Jordan and 11 miles from Lake Martin. Fort Toulouse National Historic Park is 25 minutes away. There you can tour over 6,000 years of history. There are five loop trials available, ranging from 1 miles to 11.2 miles. You can hike or bike them. The bridge is 290 feet long and goes over Lake Jordan. Wind Creek Casino Wetumpka is 10 miles and Montgomery location is only 16 miles from our property, if you want to chance your luck with some gaming. We are 20 miles from Montgomery, which is jam packed with civil rights historical sites, museums, a zoo, fabulous restaurants, a riverboat cruise on the Alabama River, a sip and cycle pedal boat cruise

Location: 6 minutes from Dollar General 8 minutes from "Union" Public boat ramp on Lake Martin. 39 minutes from Jordan Hare Stadium. Description: The property is 75 feet wide and stretches 210 feet back from the road. Shaded with trees, flat, plenty of room for pitching a tent. The driveway clearing large enough for a car plus camper or RV. I don't have dimensions, but use the pictures of my Jeep for reference. For now, you must decide if your rig will fit. The driveway ground is hard, but there isn't any gravel on the drive yet, so be mindful of parking during rain or soggy conditions. There is a fire ring and a few chairs to enjoy socializing or plenty of trees to hang a hammock and relax. Basically a quiet place to relax, in an undeveloped neighborhood, and pretend you are in a backcountry tent site, 6 minutes from Dollar General :) War Eagle!

3 nights at Stump's Country Camping

My wife and I often travel to watch our niece and nephew play collegiate softball and football. We sometimes end up at inconvenient campsites to the campuses, lack full hookups, and feel more like a chore than a getaway. However, this campsite, "The Stump’s Country Camping," was a delightful exception. It was located just 7 miles from the softball and football fields at Troy University. The site was nestled on 3 acres and featured a charming 1910 farmhouse in the distance. It included electricity, water, sewer, level ground, and a cement patio that allowed us to step directly out of our RV. Additionally, there was a shade tree, and the site's positioning kept it out of direct sunlight, making it pleasantly cool for us and our four-legged children. Ethel, the owner, was incredibly kind. She greeted us when we arrived, showed us where to park, and explained how to exit the property. She also encouraged us to call if we needed anything, which helped us feel comfortable, safe, and independent—much better than the crowded commercial campgrounds we've experienced, which are inconvenient to the campuses, don't have full hookups, and feel like work. This place has it all and more.

Weekend Trip to Stump's Country Camping

This site is perfectly serene! If you are in Troy AL for a sporting event at the college or just passing through you will LOVE this location! The site pad is perfectly level with full hookups and positioned under a beautiful shade tree. A concrete pad helps keep your camper free of debris and offers a perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying your quiet surroundings. The beautiful level grassy area that surrounds the site offers a perfect set-up for your 4-legged campers. Ethel is a great host! She is quick to communicate, with easy directions and points of interest for you to explore. This Hipcamp location has all the bells and whistles less the hoopla of a large campground. We loved it so much that we are going back next month. Do yourself a favor and add an extra day so you have time to truly enjoy this incredible site.
