A quiet, spacious campground with Suwannee River access — intentionally limited, never crowded. Set on over 60 acres along the Suwannee River, this historic property (formerly known as Suwannee River Cove) is under new ownership and being thoughtfully restored and reimagined as Oaken River. Towering oak trees — some hundreds of years old — provide shade, character, and a peaceful sense of place throughout the grounds. While RV sites are set back from the river for privacy and space, guests enjoy the riverfront experience through shared common areas by the water, including a lanai, firepit, fountain area, and oak-shaded gathering spots. A private boat ramp on the property allows guests to easily launch kayaks and small watercraft. River levels vary seasonally, and at times the ramp is best suited for hand-launched or paddle craft. The Suwannee River region is known for its natural beauty and access to multiple freshwater springs and state parks, many within a 10–45 minute drive. Wildlife is part of daily life here — deer are frequently seen on the property, along with birds and other native species. We intentionally open a limited number of RV sites to preserve quiet, space, and the natural landscape. During our soft-opening phase, guests enjoy founding-season pricing while final improvements continue — an opportunity to experience a special place before it becomes widely known. What’s available: • Full RV hookups (35/50 amp, water, sewer) • Newly renovated, premium bathhouse • River access with nearby sandy beach and a private boat ramp • Large oak canopy, stargazing, and peaceful nights • 50+ acres of wooded land to explore, with natural trails and expanding access throughout the forest • Family-friendly, low-density environment Soft-opening note: Some areas are still being improved and you may notice unfinished landscaping near certain sites. This does not affect safety, hookups, or comfort and is reflected in opening-season pricing. A good fit if you value space, quiet, nature, and a campground designed around quality rather than quantity. Not a good fit if you expect resort-style landscaping everywhere or a party-focused environment. Our philosophy: Great campgrounds are defined by how they feel, not how many sites they contain.

RV11 - Shaded Oak – Full Hook Up

Let me start by saying this place is by far the most relaxing, accommodating, peaceful getaway ever experienced. The hospitality provided by the owner Andres was so personable and exactly what we needed. From the moment of arrival we were greeted by Andres on his gulf cart that gave our family a personal tour of the property and all it had to offer. They had a huge array of animals including chickens, donkeys, turkeys, dogs, cats, goats and they were free to roam which was an experience in itself. During our tour Andres took the time to explain all that he has done to the campground over the last year and all that he plans to do to campground in the coming years. Andres and his family are so genuine, kind and appreciative to have us and we our family, we definitely plan on coming back in the coming years when the clubhouse is built and the glamping yurts are completed. What a perfect location right on the Swanee river. We were able to hang out at beach which was within walking distance. After our memorable trip I asked my kids what was the best camping trip thus far we have taken and they said Oaken river ! This says a lot as we are avid campers.

Tucked away, peaceful, and serene. Right on the Suwannee River. It is like an escape from reality! The sites are large with lots trees and nature trails. Owners are very attentive and nice, have huge plans for the future of the campground. We can’t wait to go back!!

We tried to book a last minute springs trip with our family. We fell upon Oaken River because the state parks were full. I am soooo glad of that. Oaken River is such a gem. It is so well taken care of and loved. The owners showed up around the campground, made sure we had everything we needed and truly went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. After seeing all of the potential camping site that Oaken River will have in the near future we will surely be back and bring our whole family. What a beautiful weekend with great hosts! We have had a wonderful time camping here. The new owner proudly showed us all his new projects for this beautiful unique spot on the Suwannee River. He and his wife are creatively adding glamping sites and cottage. The RV sites and tent sites are sheltered by beautiful oaks. The property has several ancient oak trees and the beach on the river is one of a kind. The farm animals are a cool bonus. We will be back. Stephanie, Andre and family were very kind and hospitable.

A real special campground

Oaken River is something special. The new owners are in the process of rebuilding the campground and they have big dreams. We were there for soft opening and really enjoyed everything they have done so far. The campsites are very nice with level sites and a fire pit. We were rooftop camping so the bathrooms were important and they did not disappoint. Probably the nicest campground bathrooms and showers I have seen. The hosts have goats, chickens and the sweetest Anatolian Shepherd named River watching over the chickens. The reviews about the access to the River were understated. The campground had easy direct access and the river is incredible! I can’t wait to return as all the plans come together.

A Beautiful, Peaceful Camp

I pulled into Sewanee Rvr Cove Camp after dark. The directions were such that even late I was fine. The host came out and made sure I knew where my spot was and the water spigot and the bathrooms. It was beautiful. They really put alot into the camp. It borders public land so the next morning I got to run my dog and let him swim in the Suwanee River. I enjoyed it so much I wished I had planned for more than one night. I would gladly return.

This really was a nice site, just not what I expected. From the photos, I expected primitive camping right on the river - it was close but not directly on. The amenities were also a little run down but not terrible. The host was great, super cool guy. Not too much hiking on site but plenty nearby and also lots to do in the area. Check out local springs and nearby high springs Main Street. All in all, a good experience. Would recommend site to a friend.

Owls, squirrels and goats, oh my!

This out of the way and on the river Campground was just what I was looking for. Bathhouse with available hot showers (always a bonus). The pool needed to be cleaned, but it was also 40 degrees out, so I wasn’t planning on using it anyway. There’s a swing, under a great big oak tree overlooking the river that gave me an amazing view of the sunset. My site, which I got to choose, was out of the way, but close enough for a short walk to the bathrooms. It was right near a hiking trail that led me through the woods. It was, in my opinion, the perfect site. The best part was the cleaning crew that came to help me checkout - 4 goats!!! I would definitely come back here and recommend people to come visit.

Not what we expected

Site wasn't very private. Another guest was playing loud music all night. They literally had the radio on from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out the next morning. We had planned on staying two days but left early because we came to a primitive site expecting quiet privacy and relaxation. There were some cute goats on property that came to visit us so that's a plus :)

The owner was very helpful and friendly. There was a lot of space between campsites and well shaded by oak trees. Campsites were close to the Suwanee River. The bathhouse was old but clean. The campsites are next to a river community. Someone played loud music the short time that we stayed there. We never finished our stay we left because of the loud music.

We had a great weekend at Suwannee Cove! The campsite was clean and ready for us to set up when we arrived. I loved having the freedom to choose our own spot. We set up near the goats and turkeys. There were plenty of trails to explore. The host even showed us around some of them. He was accommodating and friendly throughout our whole stay. We will definitely return for another weekend!

Laid back campground that had exactly what I was looking for-- a secluded space to relax and paths to walk around. There's even an enclosure with various animals that made my stay extra special. The host is really friendly and the amenities were clean and in working condition.

We had a great time. The place is old and the new owners are working on the place. The other campers were nice and it got very quiet by 9pm. We enjoyed their new hiking trail and checking out the goats.

This is a quaint little campground undergoing a revitalization. The location is gorgeous bordering the river and among the beautiful florida trees. Goats, chickens, and rabbits greet you upon check in. The vibe is very relaxed and don't be alarmed if you aren't met upon checkin by the host or if you don't get an assigned campsite. You can pretty much post up wherever is available and have as much privacy as you want. We will definitely be back soon...so peaceful.

Great little spot they have Along the Suwannee River Bam, who runs things there was beyond helpful & nice. They have some goats, chickens, a bunny & a white turkey (who all love to be around people!) It’s location is ideal if you’re wanting to explore the springs that are in the area . You can rent canoes & kayaks also! Ask Bam where the best places to paddle too!! We were unable to rent any due to time restrictions on our part. All in all the campground is older but there’s a peacefulness about the place you can’t get from a State Park!

Totally recommend! These guys have amazing plans with this once abandoned campground. Glamp, Tent, Hammock, RV, or stay in one of the cabins. There are many ways to enjoy your stay here. Plenty of places to kayak or canoe, a private beach, a great bike and hiking trail, and it has the most gorgeous wildlife and greenery. Goats may roam around here! There's also a brand new shower room available with hot and cold water. The pool will also be ready soon!
