Wildlife enthusiasts are encouraged to explore, on foot or mountain-bike, anywhere within our 170 acres (or the adjoining 250 acres owned by the US Forestry Service off our North Western border) and are likely to catch glimpses of turkey, beaver, deer, fox, eastern box turtle and the many species of songbird and raptor. The location is convenient to tons of local attractions for sightseeing and outdoor activities as well as shopping, dining, even wine tasting. We would be happy to supply a comprehensive list of the various local attractions upon request but the following are a few of our favorite things to do within a short drive: visit Linville Falls, Caverns, Gorge and/or Winery; drive the Blue Ridge parkway; tube/kayak down the Catawba river; hike beautiful Crabtree Falls; cross Grandfather Mountains mile high bridge and explore the nearby towns of Spruce Pines or Little Switzerland. Heritage Farms, located in the heart of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, is a 5th-generation, family-owned Christmas tree farm founded in 1848. Camping began ten years ago. We offer six shelters and nine primitive tent sites. We are incredibly close to the various trails located across the Cuyahoga Valley. THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK! 1.WE DO NOT ALLOW FIREWOOD to be brought onto Heritage Farms property due to the potential risk to our crops and according to State and Federal Regulations. Firewood bundles may be purchased when making your reservations or upon arrival at the farm. 2. No vehicles may be driven into the camping area at any time. 3. All vehicles must remain in the designated parking lots 4. Campers are responsible for carrying their gear to their campsites—we provide wheeled carts for your use. 5. Ohio Primitive Camping licensing does not allow wheeled camping on Heritage Farms property. 6. Due to Summit County Health regulations, we cannot provide water. Please bring your own drinking and washing water. Or you may purchase 1-gallon jugs of water when you reserve your site or upon arrival. Our restrooms are porta Johns. 7. Tent sites (labeled A-J) have space for up to 3 tents. Shelter sites (numbered 1-6) have room for up to 2 additional tents. All sites are limited to a maximum of 6 campers 8. IMPORTANT: We are up 1.3 miles of dirt road (with 5-7+% grade in a few short stretches) and are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy and rutted ( 4-wheel or All-trak recommended in certain times of year). We don’t guarantee the road will be plowed. We generally close for the season due to cold weather around Halloween and reopen just before Memorial Day. This is a non-smoking, no candle facility.

Bright Star Campground: Originally established in 2012 as a church camp, it is now a place to connect, create, and rejuvenate in this spectacular high desert landscape. Bright Star Campground is located in the Great Sage Plain in the shadow of Mesa Verde National Park with panoramic views of the Four Corners region, and only 5 miles southeast of Cortez. We are a cannabis-friendly destination but ask that cannabis use stay at your campsite, cabin or tipi. There are many attractions nearby, such as Mesa Verde National Park, Canyons of the Ancients, Hovenweep National Monument and Phil's World Mountain Biking. Raft down the Dolores river, maybe rent a SUP or kayak and chill on a quiet reservoir. We are located 45 minutes from Durango, 1.5 hours from Telluride, and about 2 hours from Moab (Arches and Canyonlands National Parks). The nearest airport is in Durango. The nearest large international airports are in Salt Lake City or Albuquerque.

Amish country is also just 15 minutes away with a great bakery, markets and greenhouses. This area is home to an impressive network of ancient earthworks including the world famous Serpent Mound. Our accommodations range from primitive tent-camping to "glamping" in one of our tiny off-grid cabins. The sites are spaced out for privacy and each site offers a private picnic table and fire pit. There are two shared privies/outhouses which have basic composting toilets (not flushing). A grassy parking area is provided near the road, however, ALL SITES ARE WALK-IN (with the exception of site #1). ***Please take note that this is private property and the host lives on site. If you are looking for a place to be loud and party into the night, this is not the place for you. If you are looking to spend some quality time in nature, welcome. There are rules.

Milo Farm was established organically a few years ago. The energy at Milo so amazing we wanted to share! There's a story behind the sacredness of this land, Loni can share that with you if you ask! There are 5 different ecosystems at Milo, all which hold their own magic!🪄 Milo has mant tent sites, car camping sites (for retroverted cars & sprinter vans), 6 cabins, a luxury guest space for you to stay! Sorry we DO NOT have any RV spots at this time. Our cabins are the Hippie Trailer, which is located near the west woods near the Fairy Forest. Then the Bunkhouse just past the big barn on the north end of the property. The lodge, where the Airbnb and pool are is centrally located on the land. We rent out the lower level guest quarters for non-campers. We have a Hobbit Hut near the Frog Pond, a Boho Bus near the entry way and several Vardos (gypsy wagons). For our tent campers there are tent sites in the Eastfield, including the Movie set location of the DM Cabin, and for diehard campers the beauty of primitive pack-in/pack-out camping of Freedom Field is a joy! Feel the energy of the sacred land. We also have SO may attractions! There are 2 stocked ponds, miles of trails, pool, Zen garden, farm animals, a library and more. Find all the portals here! Bless Mother Earth and spend some time in nature at this magical place. Great for the spiritually minded with several meditation spots. There are events happening some weekends you can participate in. We have a Call to Prayer 9:30am every day in the Art Studio/Spirit Shack, you may join us! Weekend Trip to Fruitdale Farm

I love Fruitdale Farm. The Cattail Cabin was just what we needed for a quick (rainy) weekend trip. We stayed warm and dry and spent a lot of time sitting on the porch watching the red-winged blackbird fledglings in the cattails and their parents coming and going. We fell asleep to the sound of peepers and awoke to the chatter of birds.

This cabin was cozy and relaxing. It is surrounded by trees with a nice view of s cool rock cliff. You can hear the creek burbling a few dozen feet away. The location felt very secure and calm. Dave was a very responsive host, provided clear and helpful instructions, and my trip went smoothly. I am excited to return in the future.

Weekend Trip to Valhalla Tree Farm

We had a wonderful weekend at the A-Frame on Huckleberry Hill! This cabin is super cute, exactly like the photos/description. The view is beautiful, and it was very private, we didn't see anyone else while we were there (you can just barely occasionally hear the campers at the next site over, but they weren't the least bit disruptive). It was very peaceful, falling asleep to the sound of the frogs and crickets, and occasional owl call! Few notes to future campers: the cookware is mostly mess kit-type pots and pans with a cast iron pan or two, so bring your own if you if there's something specific you're expecting to cook with; we had excellent cell service; the town of Granite Falls is only a 12-15 drive from the campsite; we were in a Nissan Juke with AWD and had no issues with the driveway, but I wouldn't want to try it in a sportscar; there are not any places to hang a hammock at the site, we were glad to have brought our portable hammock stand. Thanks again for the great weekend :)

10/10 stay! Most unexpected surprise of having a SPACE HEATER, a mini fridge, microwave, and wifi. Super clean in the cabin, bathrooms, and showers. Everyone we talked to either staying there or working there was so nice and friendly. Was very safe for 2 women traveling together.

4 nights at Yosemite Westlake Camp

We had a great time using our Tiny Home in the Woods as a home base for Yosemite. Mac was a great host and the site had everything we could need for a roughing it without roughing it experience. Bunks were comfy and had microwave, mini fridge and heating/cooling.

3 nights at Fruitdale Farm

We were a group of moms on a long weekend getaway, and Fruitdale Farm couldn’t have been a better choice. This cabin is so full of sunlight and cheer. It’s well-appointed with the things you’ll need, and the private deck overlooking the pond is such a peaceful place to relax and connect. We enjoyed wandering on the trails on the farm and hiking on nearby Arc of Appalachia trails.

3 nights at Fruitdale Farm

Such an amazing place! Fruitdale Farm is worth your trip. Friends and I stayed in the Cattail and Sugar Shack cabins. Everything was exactly as advertised, and the land was beautiful. We enjoyed exploring the trails, soaking up the sun by the pond, and feeling cozy in our cabins at night. We hiked on Arc of Appalachia trails within a 15 minute drive - what a treat! I would definitely recommend Aimee's place to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the woods.

1 night at Basecamp Flint Hills

This sleep shack was beautiful and so well kept! Hosts were super responsive and helpful, very easy to contact and kept the place very clean. We stopped by for just a night on a cross country road trip and it was the perfect place to stay. Cute little town and area to browse, 10/10 would absolutely recommend!

Weekend Trip to The Turkey Hollow Campground

What I was liked about staying at Turkey Hollow was the location. The campground entrance was off the beaten path which the gravel road leads you down a long and winding path to the camp sites. I stayed in one of the cabins which is quite rustic. Once you arrived it is quite nice and spacious with a loft above for additional sleeping space. But what I enjoyed seeing was a herd of cows across the way which kept me entertained. I would sit on the back balcony and sit and listen to nature. It is so peaceful and relaxing. I enjoyed it so much that I can say I will definitely return again.
