Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. What a hidden gem! I’ve never glamped before but have always wanted to try, and this place exceeded my expectations. The tent was super cozy and the space heaters/heated mattress pads kept us nice and warm through the night. We woke up to snow and then enjoyed the absolutely MAGICAL sauna in the woods (with a cold plunge in the creek). Also a plus knowing that the money from the stay goes to support the kids at the boarding school. Highly recommend and will definitely be looking for another time to come back :)

Had a great stay in the Mushroom Cabin. The space was cozy and clean. Nathan provided everything we needed from cookware to fresh water and a well-kept washhouse. Was a great little weekend getaway!

Weekend Trip to Parksland Retreat

Parksland was an incredible experience, everyone we met there was friendly and kind, the sauna on saturday night was so sweet.

Full size wood bed for your air mattress, camp pad, etc. Bring you own and bring your sleeping bags or other bedding.

Weekend Trip to Camp Saguaro

We stayed 1 night for Valentine’s Weekend. This is the cutest campground. There are several campsites for tents and small trailers. The toilets, showers, and common space are great. The campground was full but everyone was quiet and respectful. The Adobe was wonderful. It was pretty chilly (mid 40s) at night but the Adobe was warm enough with a thick blanket. At one point we opened the window to let fresh air in. Bed was good. Will definitely camp here again!

Weekend Trip to Starlight Hills

The campground was peaceful and the hosts were very accommodating we had a clean campsite and a fire pit loaded with wood when we arrived. We loved the spa it was worth the money to relax there after a long days hike. I feel like being able to add on 30 minute increments should be an option also. As opposed to purchasing by the hour. We felt we needed just a little extra time there. The hot shower included with the spa also would not work for us which was disappointing considering this was most of the reason we originally chose to purchase the spa add on. We then tried to shower at the free shower near by but it was just too cold for us despite being heated. “Hot” shower was a stretch there it was warm at best. But overall, enjoyed it. The heater in the tents kept us warm even when the temp dropped to 32 for a night. The privacy at mtg 3 was awesome and loved hearing the church bells across the hills. If you plan to charge your phone make sure to bring a usb Compatible chord.

Weekend Trip to Camp Saguaro

Very hip for a hip camp. We stayed in the adobe which was so warm despite the rain we had that night. Thank a god we were not in a tent. The grounds are amazing and the showers and restrooms were exceptional. Highly recommend.
