There is only one way to access the site, so please follow the provided directions carefully. GPS may lead you to a route that is not vehicle-accessible. You will drive through a residential neighborhood before entering the forest property — please drive slowly and respectfully.
Other Things to Note:
Please pack out all trash. We do not provide bins to avoid attracting animals or scattering debris in the wind.
Important: You must have a self-contained toilet system and pack out all waste.
A 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended, but standard cars and RVs up to 30 feet can access the site by driving slowly. Low-clearance sedans can also make it with care. Please know your vehicle’s limits.
Parking is available directly on the campsite, leading up the driveway.
We’re animal-friendly! Pets are welcome — just be sure to clean up after them to help keep the property beautiful.

At 10,833 feet in elevation, this is the second highest peak in California. There are two ways to get to the summit. You can hike the whole thing or shave off about 6000 vertical feet by riding the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Either way, the summit is not to be missed.
For a real challenge try the epic Cactus to Clouds trail. It was rated as one of the hardest day hikes in the world by Backpacking Magazine. Its 21 miles take you skyward through sub-alpine forests, mountain meadows, snow-dusted crags, and gnarled granite. An alpine start is required to avoid the midday heat so be prepared and take plenty of water.
Campers have plenty to choose from. The San Jacinto area offers two drive-in campsites, four hike-in primitive campsites, and adventures for every brand of wilderness craving. I have a very private campsite that is off grid. No power. No water. Bare bones minimal just a spot to pop a tent with wind and sun protection and a view. There’s an outhouse but the camping toilet that is provided is NOT maintained. Bring your own TP, camping bags and please leave clean for the next person. There’s a large deck to lounge and watch the sun rise or set. You can pitch a tent on the deck or on several cleared spots on the ground. JT national park is a 15 minute drive and there’s a corner mart nearby. You can use the trampoline, there’s a fire pit (bring your own firewood), and please bring your own camping chairs, water, toilet paper/wipes and you must dispose of your waste. Refunds not given for any mess other campers have left behind. Your fee covers a place to pop a tent with a view. Any issues you encounter I encourage you to report. 🌞🌵🏜️

Get away from the city and get dusty on our beautiful 2.5 acre dreamland. The Sunrise is a bare bones, clean and simple vintage trailer with a bed and storage. There are battery lights but no electricity or hook ups. Live like a yesteryear vaquero- make a fire, stargaze, and be zen. Amenities include an outhouse, a simple changing room/solar shower, picnic table and fire pit. Listen for the coyotes and search out the jackrabbits.

Winsome’s place and set up is absolutely beautiful. Everything has a place and a purpose: it’s minimalist, relaxing and vintage which I loved. Everything is perfectly placed so that you always have shade somewhere at all times of day. There was local coffee you can grind yourself and either a French press or a pour over, as well the option for farm fresh eggs and home baked
bread. The check-in and check-out process was very smooth, thanks to Winsome’s excellent and timely communication. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay here again. It’s about
20-30 minutes drive into the town / National Park, and the quiet and serenity of the rural location was definitely worth it!

Definitely recommend this site for a “home away from home” feel. The trailer was immaculate inside and has enough supplies for food and coffee that even if you forget or leave your gear you’ll have what you need. You’re close enough to a goods store that you can be there and back within 25 minutes. Host was very kind and accommodating. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice stay but needing or wanting some of their creature comforts.

The trailer is great! It is incredibly comfortable on beautiful land. Well located for going into Joshua Tree and Pioneertown. Only stayed here one night, but would love to come back and spend a couple more. Highly recommended.

This was such a lovely experience and such a much-needed getaway. It’s pretty easy to get to and it’s also very isolated from any main highway and busy streets, so you won’t hear any sound at all. it’s also 15 to 20 minutes from pretty much anything you need. It’s a very quiet convenient area with a beautiful view of the nice guy and a very comfortable RV full of all the goodies you need for a relaxing weekend of glamping. So great pictures got to see the amazing meteor shower truly enjoyed my stay out there. Highly recommend.

Check in and check out we’re a breeze! Cas and Brielle were very responsive to our needs (a can opener haha!) and the property was beautiful! The air stream was clean and very cozy. Our stay was very relaxing, and very reasonably priced. Just a hop, skip, and a jump to Joshua Tree NP, and easily accessible.

The camper was so cute and comfortable, I loved it. It was a vibe. Easy to find. Chris was so helpful and genuinely cared about me having a nice stay. I watched a beautiful meteor shower right outside. It was also a great view for a stunning sunrise. I’d definitely come back! Thank you!

I. Would tell my friends it's nice. But don't go in the summer unless you have AC. Could use some more trees. Very close to the West entrance to the park. Neighbors need to get dark sky lights.

Camp Squish is the cutest little getaway. I brought my family of 4 (plus dog) to go watch the Perseid meteor shower. Despite the clouds rolling through blocking our view, the accommodations were very comfortable, clean, and cozy. We stayed up most of the night on the deck area as we stargazed. When we finally went to bed, we all slept comfortably. The setup is super cute and thoughtful, details that are equivalent to an elegant upgrade at a luxurious hotel but with an RV rental. We've rented RVs before, and Camp Squish is THE best by far. I wish our stay could have been longer and hope we have another opportunity to stay again. THANK YOU, Cas & Brielle!

Great spot to stay if you’re trying to check out Pioneertown. Bathroom has what ya need and there’s also a portopotty. Decent amount of shade and picnic tables to chill at. Pappy and Harriet’s and Red Dog saloon are both walking distance which is great. Overall, definitely recommend.

This was my family and I's 1st Hipcamp experience and it was one to remember! I got my car stuck in a the sand and Winsome was a TRUE HERO! She tried to help me get out and when it wasn't possible, she was kind enough to call a tow truck and stayed with me while they dug me out. We fell in love with the trailer, it felt so homey and spacious; even my 2 year old was so comfortable she loved cuddling on the sofa and bed (which is saying something for her! lol) The night time star gazing is TOO DIE for! I literally took my laptop outside with a light and just gazed at the beauty. Even though we stayed for just a night, it was such a peaceful, serene experience and Winsome's constant communication and check ins to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and our daughter was happy truly meant the world. I couldn't recommend this beautiful space and amazing host MORE! Here you will be cared for and she will go above and beyond to make sure you have the best stay. 10/10

Go in with the right expectations, and you'll love it! It's essentially a big parking lot with a handful of shady spots. Definitely ideal for car/van camping over tent camping. The bathrooms are nothing special, but they get the job done.
We set up right by the petting zoo, which was a pleasant surprise for animal lovers.
The hosts were friendly and the distance to Mane St can't be beat! Would definitely recommend if you're staying the evening for a show at Pappys!
