Experience peaceful, private desert camping with wide-open views, dramatic sunrises and sunsets, and incredible star-filled skies in the Southern California high desert. Desert Ambassador Camp offers a single, private campsite set on 2.5 acres of natural, undeveloped desert just 2.5 miles from the West Entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. With only one campsite on the property, your group has the camp to yourselves. We fell in love with this area for its quiet beauty, open space, and easy access to Joshua Tree, and created a simple off-grid retreat where guests can slow down and experience the desert on their own terms. Spend your days relaxing beneath Joshua trees, exploring the surrounding desert, hiking nearby trails, or heading into the national park. In the evening, gather around the fire and watch the landscape change with the sunset before settling in beneath the stars. The camp is conveniently located between Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley, with easy access to Joshua Tree National Park, Covington Flats, Black Rock, and other high-desert destinations. The property remains largely in its natural state, with Joshua trees, cactus, seasonal wildflowers, rocky foothill views, and open desert stretching to the north and east. This is primitive, dry camping with no water, power, or hookups. Bring your tent and/or RV, camping supplies, plenty of water, and a sense of adventure.Enjoy a private, primitive desert camping experience surrounded by Joshua trees, cactus, wildflowers, and open high-desert landscape. With only one campsite on the property, the space is exclusively yours during your stay. The campsite includes a central fire ring, two designated tent areas, space for RV parking, and a picnic table. The terrain is a mix of loose decomposed granite and natural rocky desert, with the camping area itself relatively level and easy to settle into. A natural desert wash is just a short walk down the trail. Bring your tent and/or RV, camping supplies, plenty of water, and your sense of adventure. This is a simple, off-grid place to slow down, spread out, and enjoy the quiet, open space of the desert.
