The one-room cabin has a bed and clawfoot bathtub with hot water offering a peaceful escape on our 5-acre tree-lined farm. Here you can listen to birdsong instead of the sounds of the city. This is an ideal cabin for birdwatchers, writers, plein air painters, nature photographers, stargazing, windsurfers/kiteboarders, meditation, or some stress-free, peaceful reset time.

Pets are welcome and free to enjoy being off-leash in the cabin's fenced yard. The hosts raise free-range chickens and bees on their farm and also conduct a nonprofit rescue and hospice for senior pets.

Slide Ranch is a nonprofit organization established in 1970, becoming one of the first Park Partners in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
Slide Ranch is located on the Marin coast, on land that has a rich history in connecting people to food. The Coast Miwok once fished and foraged for food at this site, and in the late 19th century Portuguese dairy farmers purchased the land and produced milk and butter for residents of San Francisco. In 1969, 134 acres of this fertile coastline were rescued from commercial development. Slide Ranch camping fees directly fund scholarships for youth programs throughout the year.
Slide Ranch is an unpaved ranch environment. Our trails and garden paths all consist of uneven, sloping terrain, often muddy or soft ground during the winter season, and may be challenging to access for visitors with significant mobility restrictions.

In February, you can enjoy outdoor activities like hiking in Henry Cowell Redwoods, walking along West Cliff Drive, and visiting Natural Bridges State Beach. The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is open year-round, offering a chance to experience it with fewer crowds and more deals. You can also visit local attractions like the Mystery Spot, the Santa Cruz Wharf, and the Seymour Marine Discovery Center.

We love the wildness of this property and do not allow cars or vehicles beyond the parking lot. All of our sites are hike in sites. It's about a 1/4 mile hike on a small foot path. We have a wagon available for guests to use and we are happy to help you carry your things. We host a communal fire pit in the evenings, weather permitting, for all guests to enjoy, we do not allow open fires on the property. Our swimming pond is about a 3/4 mile hike through brush from the restaurant but is a great way to beat the heat during the day!

A dry toilet is a short walk from campsites and we equip sites with a water dispenser and a sealed container for trash. Water from our well is always available outside of the restaurant and bathrooms with running water are available during business hours.
There is a fire trail along one of our ridge lines that offers stunning views of the San Antonio Valley as well as our abundant wildlife. We sometimes host speakers and educational workshops and guests are always welcome to participate in events.
Campers, trailers, RVs and Vans are welcome to stay in our lot but we currently do not have hookups available.

In February, you can enjoy outdoor activities like hiking in Henry Cowell Redwoods, walking along West Cliff Drive, and visiting Natural Bridges State Beach. The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is open year-round, offering a chance to experience it with fewer crowds and more deals. You can also visit local attractions like the Mystery Spot, the Santa Cruz Wharf, and the Seymour Marine Discovery Center.

A dry toilet is a short walk from campsites and we equip sites with a water dispenser and a sealed container for trash. Water from our well is always available outside of the restaurant and bathrooms with running water are available during business hours.
There is a fire trail along one of our ridge lines that offers stunning views of the San Antonio Valley as well as our abundant wildlife. We sometimes host speakers and educational workshops and guests are always welcome to participate in events.
Campers, trailers, RVs and Vans are welcome to stay in our lot but we currently do not have hookups available.

Redwood Meadows is at the cross roads of Highway 9 (Congress Springs) and Redwood Gulch. There are 10 acres of redwoods, meadows and fruit trees, plus two historic barns. A few miles from Saratoga are nearby towns of Los Gatos, Los Altos, Mountain View, Cupertino and Sunnyvale.
San Francisco is 45 - 60 minutes away.
Concert/Wineries:
This property is surrounded by multiple wineries, including world-class, Ridge Vineyards; concert venues such as Mountain Winery, Villa Montalvo, also music, wine tasting and picnic areas at Savannah Channelle Winery, and many more.
Dining/Shops
Excellent restaurants and bars/wine rooms, a coffee shop and stores are within four miles/10 minutes away located in the Village of Saratoga. There are two small shopping centers containing grocery, hardware, coffee, and pharmacy stores, plus banks and restaurants within 19 minutes in towns of Saratoga (Argonaut Center) and Los Altos.
Hiking/Climbing/Biking:
There are state and county parks nearby, such as Sanborn, Castle Rock, Stevens Creek, and Big Basin. Above the property on Skyline, there are 35 hiking and some biking trails.
Beaches:
Beaches in Santa Cruz, Pescadero, and Half Moon Bay are 29-36 miles away.
Notes:
While mostly peaceful and serene, there can be occasional noise from motoring enthusiasts on this scenic highway. Campers must be self-contained with their own toilet/bath facilities. Electricity and water are available, however there are no restrooms, nor sewage available except one small septic portal at an extra charge if needed.

My second visit here in this quiet oasis. Just 3 weeks between and I loved the improvements (like a cool sink in the very lovely and clean outhouse).
It was off and on deluge of rain, and was so nice to fall asleep to that sound on the tent. I would highly recommend rain boots if you know there is rain in the forecast as it can get muddy between the tent and the outhouse. Simply part of the adventure...

We loved the experience on Alan’s huge farm, and my kids had a great time with the dogs. At night, the sounds of all kinds of animals create a natural symphony. My girls were a little scared of the dogs at first, but they ended up having great fun with them.
You may need to lower your expectations regarding the facilities, bathrooms, and dining area, but it’s well worth it to enjoy the nature and animals.
Alan is a great host. He is in his 80s, in very good shape, and reminds us of our grandpa.

Weekend Trip to Delta Respite
I had a great time in the little cottage on Sherman Island. For being so close to the bay, it feels like you are in a different world. The cottage was cute and I could tell there had been a lot of attention paid to details. The bathtub was fabulous and after long walks out looking at birds, this was just the place I wanted to be.

Hosts John and Lorraine really pour on the love! This tiny campground is hosted by Hallcrest Vineyards (which incidentally has the best wine and cider). The campground is tucked under some shady trees and is very quiet. I had maybe two other campers nearby And I don't think there's but 8 or 10 spots. There's a sweet little altar/deck a short walk away if you're into yoga or meditation. Less than a half mile from the property is the entrance to Henry Cowell Redwoods Fall Creek unit in one direction and the little town of Felton in the other direction. Felton has a really good grill, bar, and bakery. How can such a small town attract such quality? Meanwhile, Santa Cruz is just 20 miles away. I would absolutely camp here again.

This campsite is completely secluded with breathtaking views. My dog had a blast as well. Be prepared to hike a bit to the site if you don’t have 4WD. The host is a great communicator and was very descriptive about expectations. An issue came up which he immediately remediated and then some. Truly great experience, I hope to come back again and would absolutely recommend to others!

Upon booking, Art was immediately helpful and recommended The Ridge for the best view and moat privacy. His directions to his farm were clear, and he was quick to reply every time. He met me at the gate to escort me up to the top. I felt safe with him and on his property as a single female camper. He was extra generous with offering me anything that I may need. I really appreciate how comfortable he made me feel. Truly a sweetheart and genuine human.
I'm glad I switched my booking to The Ridge. It's a long strip of land overlooking a valley on both sides and an ocean view. I personally enjoyed the farmland view a little bit more;) I could see cows all around in different pastures. It's a great spot to soak in nature, which I did. I headed a bit down the ridge from where I set up camp, found a sunny patch with a great view, and took a nap. You can find all sort of special spots along the ridge which you have to yourself!

It’s a perfect place to get away! There’s a grocery store about 5 minutes away that we bought some sandwiches from, and we ate outside our tent on the picnic bench! It was absolutely perfect and relaxing, would recommend!

Getting there means driving on a very narrow and winding road for about 5km. It is however well worth it. It feels very private and secluded even though there are houses sprinkled through the valley. Lots of room to set up and enjoy 360’ views from sunrise to sunset. My two dogs enjoyed the freedom of running around without having to stay tethered to my camper. Clean porta potty. I didn’t see any potable water but I’m sure I could get some from the host if I needed it. Given a chance in the future, I would return.

The space was wide open and flat with perfect ground for tent camping. It was a bit hard to find a spot in the dark so highly suggest planning to set up before dusk, but there were a few light posts present. Check in and check out was simple, fast, and requires no human interaction. Area seems very safe - even more so with the fancy high tech gate system into the ranch - and the nearby downtown area is fancy. The restroom/shower room was clean but can be a bit of a walk from the camp sites, so plan accordingly. Morning dew made it so that your socks are likely to get wet making it to the restroom!

All the sites were quite lovely and easy to get into with our trailer. We had site one, which has a little more space than the others and worked well for our setup Bodhi the dog is a big friendly goofball who visited us several times, but be warned he will try to steal food (and dog toys) if you let him. He and our dog got along really well and were playing together nicely the whole weekend.
The winery tasting room is an easy walk from any of the sites and has some great wines and ciders on tap. Would definitely visit again.
