Beautiful view from the quiet camping spot. Dog friendly. Four miles to hwy. 1 and the beaches. Close to Open Space trails. 20 Minutes to historic little town of Half Moon Bay. 30 Minutes to the harbor. Fresh fish, fresh local vegetables for sale. Moderate temperatures at 700 feet, sunny skies cooled by the marine layer below. But watch the weather report for winter storms.Spectacular spot for dry camping. Drive to a large, flat, with views of forested redwood ridges. Very private and quiet. Close to Open Space trails and the beaches. Wi Fi calling and high speed internet via radio tower available near the cabin at the entrance to the Ranch. 45 minutes from the hustle of the Bay Area, this spot feels like you are in the middle of a great big wilderness.

Lobitos Creek Big Flat

This site is a little pocket of heaven perched on a hill. Great views. Quiet and the table chairs and umbrella is a great addition. Thanks Rebecca we will be back!

Lobitos Creek Big Flat

The views are beautiful and the location makes it very convenient when visiting destination spots around Half Moon Bay. The hammock was a nice touch. I do wish the path onto the site was better maintained. I could hear the shrubs rubbing the bottom of my SUV when I was driving up. I was also expecting the site to be more secluded, but I noticed what appeared to be an RV less than 100 feet from the site when I was wandering the area. It’s not visible at all from the site though and I’m not sure if it is occupied. Also not visible from the site but right next door was a miniature junkyard with old appliances.

Fun Stay at Lobitos Creek Big Flat!

My dog and I had so much fun on Rebecca’s land! The site was quite large and felt very private — it was so peaceful spending a couple nights here! There was a picnic table with an umbrella that was perfect during our visit. There aren’t any large trees for shade at the site, so a canopy or tarp is recommended for sunnier days. Also, during the summer season there is quite a bit of foxtail grass, so be sure to keep an eye on any dogs that tag along.
