Sunrise &amp; Sunset storybook Retreat

We had a good time and had a beautiful sunset. The only thing I would suggest is that the host washes all the extra blankets and puts them in containers within the shed. All of the blankets within the shed had pincher bugs in them and then they went onto the bed. I understand this is camping but it could’ve been avoided. I wish that the telescope would’ve worked too! Maybe would tell new guests to bring a space heater.

Wonderful site, fantastic amenities! The view was spectacular and the inclusion of a mini fridge & microwave in the dome and a fully functional bbq area outside made meal planning so easy. Highly recommend!

Though the site appeared to be well set up, late in the evening as I was preparing for bed I saw something scuttle across the floor. I went to investigate and I found a group of approximately 5 cockroaches, some of which fled and tried to get into my luggage while I quickly moved everything to inaccessible locations. I tried to address the issue but found between approximately 12 and 15 cockroaches within about 20 minutes while I first tried to clean, then packed up and left without staying a single night as that number of roaches is a health and safety issue. I then reached out to the host to request a refund and was told to contact HipCamp directly and leave a review. Though the host states she conducted a thorough investigation, she did not investigate after dark, which is when the cockroaches emerged and are most active.

Such an amazing experience. My wife and I visited with our senior dog and it was such a treat. The space was private, bathrooms are clean, and a fantastic place to disconnect. Amy and Jim are extremely welcoming and very hospitable. We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay! The campsite is located right on top of the mountain, and the views are absolutely beautiful. It was peaceful and the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The campsite also has a fire pit and a shared BBQ area, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Waking up to the mountain views was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. We had a great experience overall and would definitely recommend this place. We’d love to come back again!

Amy was an excellent host and greeted us at the site. The sites have an amazing view of the sky. It's very windy so make sure to bring warm clothes. And if you're staying in a dome you may want earplugs as the wind can make the dome pretty noisy. All in all we had a great stay.

Everything you need - including a surprise fridge and microwave, comfy accommodations, plus fun bonuses like a full court for pickleball, tennis, books and games for the kids. My pup was welcome and had a great time too.

We recently stayed at Jim and Amy’s glamping property, and it was an absolute dream. From start to finish, the entire experience was flawless. The Vibe & Views: If you are looking for that authentic, peaceful ranch vibe, this is it. Positioned beautifully in Livermore, the property offers some of the most breathtaking sunrise and sunset views you could ever ask for. Watching the sun dip below the hills in the evening and waking up to the morning glow over the ranch was incredibly peaceful and a total highlight of our trip. The Glamping Domes: The accommodation itself is top-notch. The glamping domes are beautifully designed, immaculate, and offer the perfect blend of modern comfort and a unique outdoor experience. They are cozy, spacious, and provide a fantastic front-row seat to the surrounding nature without sacrificing any luxury. The Hosts: Jim and Amy are phenomenal hosts. Communication was seamless right from the beginning. They were proactive, incredibly welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay while perfectly respecting our privacy. We absolutely loved our time here and cannot recommend Jim and Amy’s place enough. We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed staying at Valley View Camp for its’ convenient location near SF suburbs. The views of sunset and sunrise are breathtaking. Amy was attentive to our needs and made our stay memorable especially celebrating the 4th of July with her friends and watching fireworks of valleys below. It was very windy so staying in one of the Domes is highly recommended.

It was a great experience, we had one of the best nights ,we really enjoyed the sunset and the sunrise in the morning ,it was windy and a little bit cold at night, but if you bring some extra clothes jackets you are going to have a great experience , up there is water, 2 bathrooms with toilets,1 shower, an outdoor kitchen,some grills and there is electricity in the domes, bathrooms and kitchen, there is even a microwave and a small refrigerator in the domes

The hosts are friendly and welcoming with a special location in the remote hills north of Livermore. Every direction is a beautiful view. There are a few things that would prevent me from coming back anytime soon but they could make this location an amazing Hipcamp. The 2 roosters that are near the Sunset site and both dome tents start their crowing at 4:30AM and continue most of the day. Bring earplugs. Second, the location has a lot of unfinished projects or past builds in disrepair. For the price of the stay, I expected less of a construction site. That being said, it was free from trash, the weeds/grass was mowed in the sites, and bathrooms worked. I think the hosts are on their way to a one of a kind place.

We had mixed feelings and wanted to share so that others could have appropriate expectations about the site. For context we only stayed 3.5 maybe 4 hours at the site before leaving Positive: Amy and her husband were very nice and responsive, and the site had a very pretty view Could be improved: The skygazer dome was not as clean as the photos would suggest; we didn’t expect a hotel but there was a lot of animal hair and many stains on the sheets - we would have brought our own sleeping bags etc if we’d known but assumed the cleaning fee included sheets. There were also many cobwebs and spiders (alive and dead) in the dome and the door made a terrible loud scraping noise each time we opened it, scaring our small dog each time. We did check and asked about the temperature in the dome for our dog being warm enough and were assured it would not be too cold for her, but immediately as the sun began to set the temperature dropped dramatically to a point where we could no longer stay due to the dome’s internal temp, not to mention our reluctance to sleep on the bed. The dome was also right next to the other dome - and there is no cover on the door so anyone can see inside. Finally, it was decorated with some random furniture (old desk, somewhat broken lamp, random decor) that cluttered the space inside. Overall, this was not really ‘glamping’ but the host was nice and communicative. If we tried again we would choose a campsite instead. We were not offered a refund
