It’s well worth the visit even in the winter! Really appreciated being outdoors surrounded by Redwoods, hiking the trails around the property, the modern bathrooms with hot showers, and the indoor sitting area to make coffee in the mornings. Our stay was relaxing, memorable and special!" Please remember that we are in the woods and there is wildlife around. There is NOTHING like being in the wilderness of this area for a good re-centering of the soul! We have found it to be a true blessing for our family, and we hope you can experience this blessing as we share this space with you. We feel certain you will not be disappointed with our beautiful river canyon. Our property is situated right on the middle fork Cosumnes river. The swimming is awesome and the stars at night will put you into a state of awe! In the area there are many family owned wineries in the area, most of them offering free tasting! It’s a short drive to Tahoe and the Marshall gold discovery site as well as the historic hangtown Placerville. We are happy to make suggestions for local hiking areas, like the Devil's Slide "Gorge" only a 15 minute drive but like a trip to mini Yosemite. The Caldor Fire was VERY close to our property and a back burn was initiated nearby the our house (literally 200' away!). Our property became a pivotal point of fighting the fire in our community known as the “Ant Hill Army”. Ask us about the story!

The Feather River Hot Springs offers you a stunning and serene mountain getaway. We are located on State Highway 70 along the East Branch of the North Fork of the Feather River in the canyon. There are 5 tent sites and 5 RV sites, as well as 3 cabins available for your stay. All very close to the river. Overnight stays include the use of a natural sulphur hot springs beside the Feather River. It is small, accommodating six persons max at one time. Guests are able to book a private reservation for two or more for $120. Young children are not allowed in or at the Springs, must be teens and up. There is a sign up board for shared soaks at check in cabin. The Springs are a short walk from the RV sites and camping. Swimsuits required, no glass containers, smoking or pets. There are three cabins that sleep max of two adults. Pets are not allowed. They are nonsmoking cabins. The cabins are very close to one another. There is a shared outdoor cooking area. Five tent sites of different sizes are all along the river. Five RV sites as well to accommodate from small trailers to 40’ . Please check accommodations size before booking. Pets are welcome in RV and camping areas but must be on a leash at all times. Limit one pet per site. Aggressive dogs or excessive barking is not permitted and you will be asked to leave. Pets are not allowed down at the tubs. Campfires are by request, weather permitting. Quiet time is from 10pm to 9am. Excessively loud music not allowed. This is a very small resort, a mutual respect for al guests and the property is a top priority. This has been my home for over 15 years, it’s not a facility. Quaint and rustic but often referred to as magical. Not just a stopover on your way to somewhere else but hopefully a destination that you will want to return to again and again. Spring, summer or fall there’s always something new to experience on the Feather River!

We are a small privately owned small campground (20 sites only) located on the outskirts of Placerville. The property features 86.5 secluded Tahoe like acres with beautiful year-round Weber Creek. The camp sites are placed along the creek or the bluff overlooking the creek. We have traditional dirt camping, canvas tents on platforms, teepees and glamping tents for those that want the comforts of home. We are tent camping only with only one site that allows a small travel trailer or van. (#14) . We are dog friendly and allow dogs in all but 5 glamping sites. We do enforce camp rules especially our quiet time between 10 PM and 7 AM We’ve been told that we have a “family camp” vibe. We are a great place for families wanting a safe environment for their kids but also several group sites for those that want to hang out together with multiple families. We are also a great base site for those wilderness enthusiasts with access to all the El Dorado National Forest including Desolation but want a hot shower at the end of the day. We have a lodge that is stocked with games and a ping pong table. The lodge has a microwave, Keurig machine and a hot water kettle for those hot drinks (BYO Cups).We have several tables set up for those that want to eat inside as well as multiple picnic tables along the side of the lodge with overhead protection. We have electricity at the at the lodge for small appliances and charging phones. We have a compressor on site to blow up your air mattresses or float toys. We’ve been told that our bathrooms are the “cleanest” ever and have changing tables and diaper pails. We offer nice flushing toilets and hot showers! We have many extra amenities including a compressor to use for your air mattresses, For outdoor activities we have basketball, volleyball, pickleball and cornhole not to mention the playground with swing set . We have hiking trails throughout the property. Our highlight is a camp fire bowl with bench seating with a stage to display camper talent which is perfect for the evening fire and roasting s’mores (bring the fixings). The creek starts out in spring looking like a rushing river featuring many fishing and swimming holes. As the summer progresses the water level falls but is still great for water play and fishing. We have propane BBQs (we provide the propane for BBQs) located throughout the property. We also have a propane grill and charcoal BBQ located in the common area for all to use. There is a dutch oven pit also in the fire bowl area. We do not allow wood fires at the individual sites but each site has a propane firepit for ambiance (not cooking) that requires you to purchase a 20 lb. propane cannister on site (add in extras) or pay cash on site. No internet service. There is limited internet only available for purchases at the setore. We require a 3 night minimum for the major holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. We do exclusive events so you may need to explore multiple weekends to find the right reservation. We are located in the foothills so we are a short hop to many local attractions that include river rafting, gold mines, wineries and historical towns with great eating establishments. Tahoe is less than an hour away and there a many hiking trails within 20-30 minutes. We have a limited number of items to rent i.e, tents, cots, camp stoves, etc. We rent a battery pack for those that use a cpap. We also have a small store on site for those items you forgot and a good selection of ice cream and ice. We take venmo or cash.

Weekend Trip to Feather River Hot Springs

Great trip. We stayed in the Logger's cabin and it was beautiful. The area is nice, right on the river and the hot springs were great. Rocky was a wonderful host and took great care of us. We really enjoyed the trip and want to go back with friends. There is a lot of exploring and cool stuff to do in the area also. Highly recommended.

Weekend Trip to Meadow Farm & Forest

The cozy cabin is just as described, cozy! It has everything one needs- a fridge, kettle, bed inside, plus a picnic table outside. The community house had plenty of cookware for my (vegan) cooking needs and a full bathroom. The cabin is the first building as you turn at the Hipcamp sign and there are other residences past the farm on the other side of the property, and campsites across the adjacent meadow. The property itself is surrounded by trees, and less than 10 mins driving to downtown Fort Bragg or MacKerricher SP. Even though it’s close to town, it feels very peaceful. During my stay I was pretty much the only one there once folks finished up for the day at the farm. You can hear the train at night but also frogs, crickets, and owls. Sojo and everyone I met there were very nice and helpful! I’d recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and convenient spot near Fort Bragg.

Cabin 4 has a queen bed with heated mattress, down comforter and yummy pillows and linens. The twin bed has it all, minus the heated bed.

Weekend Trip to Heartwood Mendocino

What a stunning glamping experience! We’ve never “glamped” before, and this was a great introduction. Firstly, that bed was 100000000/10 INCREDIBLE!!! More comfortable than our bed at home! It was a complete surprise that the bed was heated, and even better that we could each control the heat on our separate sides of the bed. We visited during very cold, rainy weather, and that heat came in clutch! Second, huge surprise that our door could lock, we felt very safe at night. Third, bathrooms were well kept and versatile. We were provided towels in our campsite, which was super helpful. We didn’t get a chance to cook so the communal kitchen was not used by us. However, we noticed the “common space” was well equipped and had a toaster oven, tea kettle, and coffee machine, there were blankets and games too. Across the way was firewood, as well. Only negative note… READ THE DIRECTIONS FROM THE HOST!!!! Drive very slowly and follow the directions very carefully. We were naive to think it wouldn’t be that hard, and missed it completely. You truly have no service. Do not arrive in the dark, it will terrify you. Plan to arrive in the daylight so if you miss it, you’re not scared… Despite this, would still recommend this place in a heartbeat. The proximity to Mendocino is chef’s kiss. Great listing!

I was so happy to return to heartwood this time with my sister. We stayed in the cabin this time and it was so cozy during the rainy weekend. We got to shower in the outdoor tree shower that was magical. We already have plans to bring my sisters baby next time :). This place is truly one of a kind.

The Mushroom Cabin was tiny and lovely! It was just me traveling from far away, and I very much appreciated the front porch kitchen. The property is beautiful and remote, the cabin is private, and the central wash house has all of the amenities (shower, toilet, sink for dishes, and a well-appointed communal kitchen). And the name of this place is no joke - there are banana slugs all over (as a UCSC grad I felt right at home).

3 nights at Heartwood Mendocino

Heartwood Mendocino completely blew us away. From the moment we arrived it felt like stepping into a peaceful, thoughtfully designed escape that somehow balances comfort, nature and community all at once. The cabin was incredible. Cozy, nicely set up and the heated sheets were next level, especially after a cool and rainy evening. The outdoor tree shower was an experience, equal parts relaxing and unique. The property is perfectly set up for both adults and kids. Our 6 year old son loved the wide open space to run around and the hiking trails right nearby made it easy to stay active without having to go anywhere. One of the unexpected highlights was hunting for banana slugs which turned into a full on adventure and kept him entertained for hours (nice break for mom and dad). The communal vibe at Heartwood is something special. The shared space feels welcoming without being intrusive and the hosts are genuinely kind, thoughtful people who clearly care about the experience they’re creating. You can feel it in every detail. Evenings around the fire pit making s’mores were a perfect way to wind down and the peace sign meadow is great for relaxing or playing tag. If you’re looking for a place that feels peaceful, connected to nature, family friendly and still elevated and unique, Heartwood Mendocino absolutely delivers. We’ll be back without question!

The beautiful drive along the Feather River was breathtaking! Our cabin was very clean and lacking nothing for a perfect night stay. The walk down to the private hot springs was very safe and the soak in the hot springs was relaxing and private. All was perfectly set up for a relaxing getaway!

Weekend Trip to The Foxes Family Farm

We couldn’t have asked for a better first Hipcamp experience than Kat and Steve’s Fox’s Hideout. It was the perfect glamping getaway and a charming, peaceful escape from city life. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth. Kat and Steve made us feel less like guests and more like family. Their thoughtfully built property is clearly a labor of love and embodies everything you’d hope for in a family-run retreat. Our kids had an absolute blast! Between the trampoline and the tree rope swing, the experience felt magical and wholesome—especially with petals gently falling from the trees as they played. Do not skip the pastry add‑on! Kat and Steve previously owned a bakery, and waking up to generous, warm cherry turnovers, and other pastries was an incredible treat. The accommodations were no frills but comfortable. Even the small details stood out, like their well water that tasted better than bottled. Located close to San Francisco, Fox Hideout is an easy, worthwhile getaway, and we fully intend to return. Kat and Steve are wonderful hosts whose property reflects the true heart and pride they put into it. Highly recommended!

Cabin #2 was great, we will totally return. Plenty of space for kids to run around, play in the creek, swim in the river, fish in the ponds. The ranch is beautiful, just a great place.

Weekend Trip to Wendy & John Farm

This visit to Wendy and John’s house was our 3rd because we love it and it has now become a must visit destination on our road trips. This visit my husband and I stayed in the Airbnb for the first time and it was old world charming with new world cleanliness. Linens felt and smelled clean and fresh. All floors and surfaces were deeply cleaned and we were very warm and cozy. We opted for the dinner with John and Wendy and our family of 4 enjoyed a delicious home cooked family meal with wonderful conversation. I highly recommend because both Wendy and John have many stories to share and were overall a delight to share a meal with. Our teenage sons slept in a tent (because there is only room for 2 inside). So we were also able to enjoy their camping space and outdoor fire pit. If you are in the area staying with Wendy and John is an experience you do not want to skip! We will be back again.

3 nights at Mystic Forest Campground

Overall very good experience. Little Foot camper well appointed with kitchen items, good efficient small space, comfortable. Campground host very responsive. Mystic Campground is well-situated midway between Prairie Creek and Jedediah Parks. Camping space a bit tight within the campground. Not quite as secluded as you might think.

Weekend Trip to Heartwood Mendocino

Heartwood was a fantastic, and magical spot. Used this as a spot to sleep while exploring the area but quickly set the stage for the whole trip. Super easy check-in. Such close attention to details with gnomes, fairy lights, and heated bed that makes it all oh-so cozy. It was a quick and easy drive from Heartwood to Mendicino proper, did a hike :15 min away in the Russian Gulch to see a beautiful waterfall through the fern canyon, and a short little stop away from Fort Bragg and the glass beach. Would definitely come back and bring a group to each have our own cabin.

2 nights at Cosumnes River Ranch

This was my second time at the cabin and I feel even more in love with it and the property. Highly recommend, my only hesitation in writing that is I don’t want the masses to know so the serenity of the land stays as is. Thank you!
