Weekend Trip to EL EL Cool Ranch

Great stay, well off the beaten path. Eli is a warm and gracious host. We loved the peace and quiet of the dome and still having the creature comforts of home. It was also fun to go forage in the garden, hang out with the chickens, and see the wild ponies on the drive in. A truly dog friendly place- Lulu is a very friendly girl and will love to play with your pup.

My family enjoyed our stay at Jo's meadow. We pitched our tent outside the cabin and two of us slept in the tent and two in the cabin. The bed was comfortable and we were cozy. Sojourna accommodated a special request and answered all of my questions. I really appreciated how helpful she was. The farm is a quiet peaceful spot (with amazing stars, too!).

We had such a wonderful time at Serendipity! The campsite was so peaceful and welcoming that we spent most of the weekend reading there and letting our two pups have the time of their life on the property. The campsite is well appointed with pretty much anything you could need in the camp kitchen, and we found the camp shower and loo to be convenient and very clean. It also was an added bonus that Jennifer and and her pup Pipin were such welcoming hosts! We even were able to give some yummy treats to the goats.

Weekend Trip to Serendipity

We were having a blast on our adventure roadtrip to the area and decided to soak up sunset on the beach which resulted us in arriving hours later than originally planned. Arriving in the dark is not recommended for a few reasons. :) The camp space had minimal lighting but thankfully I had my headlamp handy. The camp’s sweet watchdog was on duty doing her job barking at our arrival but once we approached to say hi it calmed down learning that we were the guests and then disappeared. Just as we were about to unpack our belongings and pups from the cars, we heard a few noises right across the road from us in the woods and with the headlamp we spotted big eyes watching us ever so stealthily. After a few minutes of not breaking eye contact with my light shining on them, processing what it could be and what we should do, a second pair of eyes joined in and we decided to listen to our gut and get the heck out of there before anything could possibly go wrong. 🤪 My friend got her first true car camping experience as we made do with what we had and boondocked along the coast feeling much safer not being 20+ mins deep into the winding woods with intimidating wildlife. 😆😅 The host answered our questions prior to the trip, but we never heard more from her after day-of arrival directions were sent. Wish we could’ve enjoyed the space but we were naturally too psyched out by then and skeptical that the privacy fence could really keep out the potential bears or mtn lions. 🙈🤷🏼‍♀️

Weekend Trip to Running Springs Ranch Lavender 💜

We loved our stay on Steffny's property! We received a warm greeting upon arrival. Our campsite was very cute, cozy, and private. The bathroom facilities are in the main house and kept very clean! The lavender garden was beautiful! The only draw back was that there were several small caterpillars in the tent at any given time and we squished one that fell on our bed while sleeping. Overall, would certainly stay there again!

Most relaxing place to unwind and let go. Outdoor redwood shower, outdoor kitchen, communal fire pit, dining room with hot water for showers , heating pad in beds, and friendly staff. Quiet and tranquil outdoor spaces. Many nice touches found throughout camp. The decorative plants , flowers , little nice flowers in bathrooms. The wooden tables and sectioned off areas with their own themes .

Jo's cabin was private, lush and convenient. The cabin was cute and had a double bed with a closet and chairs. The outside area was like a meadow with two picnic tables and a counter/sink with running water. Our dog got to sniff around and we only heard cars driving by a couple of times. We could hear the skunk train horn from the cabin, but it was pretty charming, not too loud. It was a very luxurious car camping experience. The compostable toilet was a short path away on an open air platform, worked smoothly for us! The shower was in an enclosed outhouse in the trees and heated up quickly, twinkle lights made it cute! The cabin was about a five minute drive from fort bragg. It was so lovely to explore the coast in such a beautiful part of California with the conveniences of running water and a place to store our gear. The weather was lovely but if it had been raining it would have been totally okay! Thanks for the stay!

From the moment we pulled in, we knew we were somewhere special. Thomas went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for our stay — and it honestly felt like visiting an old friend rather than just a host. He had a tent already set up for us, with a table, a couch and a tarp. His land is beautiful and peaceful — it just has this calm energy to it. We felt super safe and relaxed the whole time. Our dog was in heaven, running around freely with Thomas’s dogs. They got along great, and it was so nice to be somewhere truly dog-friendly. The next morning, Thomas gave us a little tour of the place, including his hydroponic garden. I don’t think I’ll ever look at store-bought arugula the same way again — it was insanely good. The eggs were also super fresh and delicious, and he even offers customized baskets with produce from his farm. It’s such a cool, personal touch that makes the stay even more unique. Also — can’t forget to mention the swing. It was such a fun surprise and made us feel like kids again. This place is the definition of good vibes. Genuine host, beautiful land, and thoughtful touches everywhere. We’re already talking about when we can come back.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of staying at this incredible off-grid Hipcamp spot, and it was nothing short of magical! Thomas was not only friendly but also passionate about sharing his knowledge of the land, making every interaction meaningful and enriching. One of the highlights of my stay was enjoying morning and night tea while soaking in the breathtaking surroundings. The peaceful ambiance allowed for serene moments of reflection and connection with nature. I also had the joy of meeting the best dogs on the property, who were always ready for some love and mostly at work, being guard dogs! The swings on the property had a whimsical charm, adding a sense of joy and life to the experience. I felt a wonderful sense of solitude in this beautiful setting, which allowed me to truly unwind and recharge. And let’s not forget the wild strawberries—hands down the best I’ve ever tasted! They were a delightful treat that perfectly complemented my stay. I also indulged in a healing massage that left me feeling rejuvenated and at peace. The yurt itself was wonderfully equipped with everything I needed, blending comfort with the beauty of nature. If you're looking for an unforgettable escape filled with learning, relaxation, and genuine interactions, this is the place to be! I can’t recommend it enough and can’t wait to return!

Weekend Trip to Serendipity

Staying at Jennifer's was an absolute pleasure. 25 miles outside of Fort Bragg or 15 miles from mendocino wine country (imagine Napa but with nicer weather and people). The campsite itself is well appointed, with the outdoor kitchen area, picnic table, camp shower and the "loo" all close by without feeling crowded. We were also given access to the rest of the property including a large firepit area, a circle of redwood trees with a hammock inside, the goat pen and the garden. Jennifer is an especially gracious and friendly host, taking the time to show us around (she even gave us a little produce from her garden beds), but also giving us plenty of space to relax and explore on our own. The campsite is fairly large and well kept and, along with the connected property, gave us plenty of space to enjoy the peace and quiet. The main house is around 50 yards away, but you won't see it unless you exit the campsite and go into the fire pit area, providing the campsite a good measure of privacy. And then there is Pippen. She is awesome! I know every review mentions her, and they are all correct. She, on her own, is easily enough reason to stay at Serendipity. The only thing I feel should be mentioned is that the campsite is close to the road, and on the weekend mornings there may be some noise due to the site being along a popular motorcycle route. That said, everything here exceeded our expectations. We had a great time and look forward to staying again soon!

Thank you, Clark for sharing your little piece of Heaven on earth!. This 200 acre farm is truly enchanting, with beautiful peacocks roaming free and breathtaking views of the Mendocino Valley is truly inspirational. I highly recommend you take the tour of the farm. . Clark was a very gracious host. If good vibes only was a place it would be Glynraven Gardens. I will definitely go back.

absolutely loved this spontaneous decision to book the tiny house. it was so cozy and cute. the outdoor kitchen and shower were awesome. the bed was super comfy. and the host and her sons were the best! such a sweet family and so accommodating and hospitable. this place is definitely a community feel. you’ll get privacy and solitude, and quiet night sleep, least i did! the fire was lovely in the morning when it was chilly. i brought my own camp toilet, but there is one down a carved out trail that is not accessible to all at current. very private though. in between. the coast and redwoods. amazing stuff to do when not at the tiny house. i just loved my time just, being. it was really so very lovely.

We offer affordable accommodations, organic gardening, and education on plants and living simply. We welcome your interest in veganic garden and diet, orchards, and forest trails. Our organic vegetables and fruit may be available if you wish to bring some of our farm to your table. We can offer you a quiet and peaceful place without social pressures if you wish to "decompress" from city life, jobs or any stressful times. Or come to the communal fire near the bathhouse for sharing some time with family and the few other campers that may be there. Bringing your own wood is welcome. The coastal bike and hike trails are many. From South of Ft Bragg to the Sand Dunes near Ward Ave. you can travel over 7 miles one way and go down to quiet little beach coves along the way. Meadow Farm is a nonprofit 501c3 with goals of coastal food security, disaster preparation and sheltering, carbon sequestering and forest restoration. We offer native plant tours on or off site with advance notice. We like our dog companions! Two McNab collies, Moxie and Shama live here and may bark at first...still very friendly and social with people and other dogs.. There are several dog friendly off-leash areas such as, Noyo North Harbor Beach, Seaside Beach and dog parks in both Ft Bragg and Mendocino. Our farm is dog friendly tho we wish pets to be kept close, must be neutered and friendly to other dogs and people. Please be sure to bury or bag the waste. Speaking of waste, Meadow Farm strives to reduce waste by avoiding plastic as much as possible, recycling what we can and composting our veggie scraps. Please bring your own waste receptacles and take them along when you go. We take ours to the Caspar Transfer Station which is open Saturday through Wednesday... the location and hours can be found online. Our water is from a deep well and we periodically test it for bacteria. It is cold and delicious. Our irrigation pipes that have spigots and hoses at each camp are safe for drinking, cooking and cleaning. Our solar pump moves water into storage tanks that provide all the water to the farm. It is very important that the water valves on your camp spigot is turned off (gently please) to avoid losing 2500 gallons of water in a short time. If you see a leak or break in a line please contact us immediately. There are also water shut offs for the camps on the west side of the Farm House if you are unable to reach us right away.. When doing dishes we request that you use the strainer to catch food particles from the dish water and toss them in your trash or compost bucket. If you have vegetable waste let us know and we can pick them up for adding to the worm bins or composting piles. We make worm "tea" fertilizer and rich soil from these offerings. No animal products or oil please... a few egg shells are okay. We do have the usual wildlife though we haven't had problems with them. Ravens will raid your camp if food or bags are left out while you are away. From dusk to dawn keep children and pets close. We coexist well here with the critters...and glad to have them.
