For 70 years the Nelson family has been farming vineyards and attracting people every year to the beautiful region of Hopland. It is truly a family affair as each generation has put in their time and energy, infusing this ranch with their own flair.
In 1951 Herman and Clara Nelson sold their ranch in what is now Silicon Valley and headed north, landing in Southern Mendocino County near the town of Hopland. Since then the mature prune orchards and grass-fed sheep that dotted the farm’s rolling hills have given way to an abundance of sustainable vineyards as well as Bartlett pears, an olive orchard, and live Christmas Trees.
You will be staying on a working ranch, vineyards, and winery. We have several locations but none of them have hookups at this time. We have vineyard views and oak woodlands and hilltop valley views. We host weddings and other events. We have a tasting room and a redwood picnic area. We are the fourth owners of this property. The ranch has produced hops, prunes, pears, wine grapes, sheep, and cattle at different periods. Currently, we grow pears, grapes, strawberries, and Christmas trees.

Here you can pick your poison, as the property is comprised of 7 rustic cabins, redwood campsites, and geodesic domes that would make Buckminster Fuller proud. The working farm is comprised of over 230 accessible acres of flowing meadows, redwood groves, prime agriculture, and is intersected by the beautiful Garcia River, which flows into the mighty pacific. One thing that is very apparent, is how clearly passionate the community at Oz Farm is about ecology and agriculture. Once you step foot onto Oz Farm, you'll begin to understand why.

Welcome to The Hideaway at The World Famous Hole in The Wall, a truly one-of-a-kind escape in rainforest like setting nestled in the heart of Northern California’s redwood country just up the road from the iconic Drive Through tree, The Grandfather Tree, and Confusion Hill.
This is a working farm and there are permanent residents on site who are friendly and available if you need help! The property is under construction and there is some debris we are cleaning up. Please don't be discouraged when you pull in, the sites themselves are lovely. There are 2 off leash, and very friendly dogs. We do have a pen we can put them in when asked. The pen is by the driveway, and they will bark when someone pulls in or out.
Within a 10 minute walk from the property is the namesake attraction—a stunning swimming hole carved into the rock wall by dynamite decades ago, ( Google hole in the wall Leggett) now transformed into a refreshing oasis complete with cascading waterfalls. Creek color, level, and clarity vary depending on season! The creek is visible from some sites, but not all.
Lounge on redwood decks, picnic under the trees, play on the worlds biggest home made giant cylinder chimes in the sound garden or explore the surrounding fruit trees and lush forest paths, tire swings, or a game of horse shoes.
Amenities include, invigorating outdoor hot showers, new picnic tables, and easy access right off the 101. Whether you're seeking solitude, a community vibe, or a bit of both, this is your chance to experience Northern California in a truly unique way.

Our Labor Day stay at 3 G Familia Farm was one of the best all year (and this was like my 14th camping trip this year. The camp hosts were attentive and very helpful. Great location. Even better vibe. We WILL be back next year.

My friends and I had a blast here! While we never met Thomas during our stay, Lars and Wild Man took great care of us and made sure we were situated and had what we needed. Lars walked us all the way to the Hole in the Wall, which was really kind and he’s a great tour guide. Garden Side is a great spot for a group. It does get a lot of sun and gets toasty so bring some sun protection! This camp spot was queer and tripping friendly. We felt really welcome and the vibes were so relaxed. Just make sure if you’re coming in an RV or sprinter that you confirm the width of your vehicle. The bridge is tight, I barely cleared it in my sprinter van. This spot represents what hip camp is all about & I will absolutely come back!

We had a great time at 3 G Familia Farms. Chris came out to greet us and showed us our spot. There were several other families there as well but was not crowded as everyone was spread out. We stayed at site 17 which was perfect for our truck and rooftop tent. Point arena lighthouse was just a couple minutes drive away and had fantastic ocean views. There are several coastal access and beaches nearby. There is also a hardware/grocery store a few blocks from the camp and had everything we needed. The camp site is a few hundred yards away from the Shoreline Hwy and there is road noise but we didn't mind it at all. The weather was perfect and the night sky was clear the whole time we camped there. Great for star gazing. We paid $20 for the firewood and there was more than enough for our 2 night stay. Safe area for kids as well. We will be returning in the near future.

We had a great stay in our 25' MB Forester Class C! A little hot but manageable. First we stopped in the wine tasting room to register and sample all the wines. Then we headed to our site on the East side. One section of dirt road was first gear but the RV made it without any problem. I'm not sure if the road was wet. You are basically in an active pasture on the top of a high ridge looking down at the valley to the East and the valley to the West. Incredible views with only the faint sound of traffic on 101. We did a nice mile or so hike along the ridge with cattle that was fantastic. We just stayed one night but we will be back to do it again. Full cell service as well as the tower is right nearby. If you like boondocking/dry camping, this is an enjoyable stay!

This is a great campground. If you are potentially last-minute camping or camping solo it is a small campground with the owner on site super friendly. The access to bathrooms. Freshwater and showers was great if you were looking for something a little more secluded, it might not be so great because even though there is privacy, you do hear the highway, but great location and access to amazing private Creek and beach with a short walk Looking forward to coming back soon!! Dog friendly 🖤

This camping spot was perfect for a 3 day weekend getaway! I loved how fresh the air is out there, and how peaceful it is at night. It had an amazing spring water shower, which was perfect for me since I like to be fresh for each day. The famous Hole in the Wall was just steps away, and offered a quiet sanctuary for meditation and cold plunge swimming! The water was clear and clean. The people running the camp were very helpful and super kind. I would definitely recommend this place for its location, atmosphere, and serenity.

We have such a great time camping at this spot. It is right next to a beautiful gorge with a river you can swim in. Easy access to Eel River, just a quick drive away. The hosts were very friendly and the showers and potable water made the experience even better. There were a lot of bees when food was out but they weren’t too bad. Love this place and will be back!

Truly enjoyed our stay here and chatting with our Steve, our host.
The campground are was very nice and level. We were at Bridge View and had a table, deck and lounger, all in very good condition. The outdoor shower was nice, easy to use after a quick lesson. All of the amenities and common areas were in great shape and well thought out.
The Hole in the Wall trail is a short walk from the camp site then is a short walk to the actual site. Very cool to see. The water was a little too cold for us to wade in but we enjoyed the area.
Short drive to the Chandelier Tree is a must. The little town of Leggett has a nice market and the drive to Layton offers EV chargers, markets, shops and restaurants.

Overall, the trip was great! Lars was extremely nice and attentive and the river/swimming holes were beautiful! The campsites were a little bit closer together than I was anticipating, but it really wasn’t that big of a deal. The only thing that was really an issue was that there was a tent already set up at the overlook site, but the
zipper to the cloth outer door was broken and the screen was completely ripped apart. We had no way to keep out the swarming mosquitos or the bees, so we ended up sleeping in the back of the Jeep 2/3 nights. We tried to duct tape it, but that came apart pretty quickly. They are getting a new tent though, and I think that’s the best one of all the sites, so I’d recommend just making sure they have the new tent set up before you plan to stay at the overlook site.
