A great place to stay just outside of the park. Be near the park, but feel that complete privacy. These sites are very spaced out from each other and are large. No need to cram together! We have 824 acres on a beautiful cattle ranch with two small ponds. On our property, you'll find frogs, turtles, oak trees, pine trees and stunning views of Yosemite.
We have several campsites to choose from including RV camping, tent camping, and a glamping tent. Pets are welcome. Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban. Potable water and toilet are available onsite.
There's a golf course less than a mile away. We are also very close to town. In just a few minutes, you can drive to our local grocery store and pizza parlour.
We are a 10-minute drive to Pine Mountain Lake. Beautiful Pine Mountain Lake offers golfing, dining, horseback riding, water sports and an airport.
When you come to the ranch it feels like you are hundreds of miles away from civilization, but still close to everything you need. It is incredibly peaceful!
This is a great place for someone who wants to escape city life and enjoy the tranquillity of nature.
Much of the ranch is open wilderness for you to explore, and it's not uncommon to see deer, frogs, turtles, quail, turkeys, or other countless species of birds.
Diamond Gulch Camp is the perfect place to relax if you’re a photographer, artist, family or a group of friends looking for a place to camp near Yosemite.
A small portion of the property was used as a gold mine years ago, and you may find remnants of old home sites if you go exploring. We're not far from Wards Ferry Road, Groveland, Lake Don Pedro and other interesting places.

We have two RV sites with hookups, a five site drive-in campground, one walk-in campsite- all with clean, flush toilet bathrooms, hot outdoor showers, indoor camp kitchen and gathering space. The Barn Room is the newest addition to the campground- a climate controlled bedroom with its own bathroom/kitchette. Whether you're pitching a tent, parking a campervan, adventure rig/rv, or looking for a comfortable room, there are opportunities for everyone.
For large events, workshops or reunions, Red Tail Ranch can be rented out in its entirety- please reach out with any questions or how to do this. There is also a discount for stays longer than a week.
Amenities in the campground include hammocks, basketball, cornhole, darts and a ring toss game for all to enjoy.
We are 10 minutes from the small town of Groveland with a market and restaurants and just down the road from the put in for rafting on the Tuolumne river.
Our pricing is a little higher than other places nearby and this is due to the property's great locations, incredible beauty, and all of the amenities added for a great experience.

This area was once inhabited by local native American Tribes. In the 1840's prospectors arrived in search of gold but none was found in the immediate area. Old Yosemite Base camp was along the route into Yosemite National Park prior to the construction of Highway 41. Horse and Carriage traveled along Old Yosemite Road from Mariposa and the entire golden state. Visitors from the world now pass through Oakhurst to Yosemite National Park along this route. Don't for to check out Bass Lake and its full service amenities.

Hipcampers, come pitch your tent at one of five Old Yosemite Base Camp (OYBC) drive in and walk in sites. OYBC offers over six acres of pine, oak, and bay trees, sprinkled around large granite features that remind you that Half Dome is not far away! Each unique site is equipped with a stone fire ring with cook top and a picnic table accommodating four person dining. Old Yosemite Base Camp is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset and stargaze next to a campfire after an adventurous day in the southern Yosemite region. Yosemite tent camping without all the crowds and tour buses is what you can expect. Backing up to the Sierra National Forest OYBC is conveniently located near HWY 41 just 14 miles from Yosemite’s south gate entrance. The region also offers a large amount of hiking trails where you can find swim holes, waterfalls giant sequoias, lakes, and rivers. Take 15-minute drive to Bass Lake and enjoy water sports and lake view dining.
OYBC offers five camp sites and all wheel drive is required to get to the top of camp. OYBC sites 1, 2, 3, are drive up sites and 4 & 5 are walk in sites that have a separate parking area. All wheel drive is still needed to get to this lot.

Sites have beautiful open views of the property and river canyon with natural shade in the morning and late afternoon. Sounds of the river will lull you to sleep. The Stranges are professional fish and wildlife biologists and have decided to share this special place for others to enjoy. The property hosts a diversity of plant and wildlife species that might be observed during your stay. Prehistoric and historic resources can be observed along the river corridor. Please be aware that some wildlife species including rattlesnakes, bears, and mountain lions have been observed on the 117-acre property and could potentially be observed near the campsites.
The Ranch's northern portion of the property supports a leased farming operation. Farming operations should not interfere with camping activities.
Day trips are possible to Tahoe, Yosemite National Park, Calaveras Big Trees State Park, local caverns and wine tasting, and historic gold towns.

Heart Valley ranch hosts 300+ acres of rolling pasture nestled along the beautiful Jackass Creek. Access to Yosemite via 120 takes 1 hour , Groveland 10 minutes, and Coulterville 5 minutes. You’ll find cows, goats, chickens, llamas and our two beloved livestock dogs on the property. Many pools to cool off in and sweeping sunset views from the highest point on the property. There is lots of nature to enjoy including bird watching, seasonal wildflowers, and other wild animals.

We highly recommend not bringing any animals, including service animals. We have two livestock guardian dogs that free roam the property and they are not friendly with other animals.

after the last major storm, a large amount of red sand washed into the pond area, making the water currently much shallower than usual. The area can still be enjoyed, especially by small children, but swimming conditions are limited compared to before.

The Lost Dutchman Italian Bar Camp is a 160 acres of Priviately Owned Patented Mining land and our priviate campground located in the Stanislaus National Forest and on the South Fork of the Stanislaus River, which runs through the camp.
Camping is available on both side of the river making the Italian Bar camp a destination for campers since we rebuilt the camp from the ground up in the late 1970’s.
Whether you want to relax in your campsite listening to the river, dip your toes in the cool waters or try your hand at panning for gold, I-Bar offers all of this and more. There are miles of hiking opportunities around the camp as well, from short river hikes to Trailblazing like the Miners of old. We are betting that you can find the types of hiking you are looking for.
You camping includes access to the Bathhouse with commodes and showers. And yes there is even hot water.
Little History:
The property was discovered and first settled around 1849 as a gold rush mining camp. At one time over 3,000 people lived here and mined for gold. When the gold rush came to an end so did Italian Bar. Until over a hundred years later, In 1976 when our founder fell in love with this remote property and purchased the land and we began rebuilding the I-Bar camp from the ground up and opened it to our members. It didn't hurt that somewhere close by Our founder found a 800oz pocket of gold. Even today, Prospecting for gold is encouraged!
If you want to try your hand at “Gettin on some of the shiny” let the Caretakers know! We have a few gold pans we loan out that are just waiting for some color to make you smile.
Of course we have pans for sale.
If you’re an avid outdoors person, carrying a gold pan with you just makes sense.

Campsite was well situated along our travels Yosemite. Power and water hookups were convenient and it was a quiet location. We got to the site quite late as the first leg of our journey consisted of 10hr+ drives but had no troubles finding the place and setting up the trailer for the night.

We loved our stay! This was truly one of the best camper experiences we’ve ever had. Robb was friendly and responsive. The land is just stunning and so peaceful. We visited over Memorial Day weekend, which was extremely busy in the park. It was so nice to escape the crowds and stay in this quiet campsite. The showers were nice and hot, and what’s better than showering under the Yosemite stars? Hookups for our camper worked great. The restrooms worked great. There’s a kitchen area to wash dishes. Our dogs enjoyed the “Dog Run,” a round pen where they could run around off-leash and stretch their legs. It was worth the drive to and from the park to stay at this location and we would love to stay here again in the future. Highly recommend!

The place was great. We were there on a memorial day weekend so it was packed! All the other campers were polite, and the owner John, was great. He was a great host and he stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed. The accommodations were a bit rustic, but we had every thing we needed. We did RV camping, and although there aren’t very many RV spots, we were quite comfortable. The RV camping there is what you’d call Boondocking. So there are no service. However, there is access to water, porta potty and showers on the property that are quite comfortable. Our friends did the tent camping that include well stocked campground and tent. They felt like they didn’t need to bring anything, but Food clothes and toiletries. It was a good deal! There’s a well stock shopping center with high-quality foods within 10 minutes. And a few restaurants that make it really easy to pack light!

My second time staying here in a week. It's a great spot to get things done before going into Yosemite and out of Yosemite which I did both times. I couldn't go in at the closest entrance from this hip camp because the HWY was closed due to a rock slide, but going through the South entrance instead was fine. The host is super responsive and nice.

Dawn and I are brand new to camping, but after hearing from friends who rave about it, we decided to give Hipcamp a try. It’s such a fantastic way to find unique and special places to stay!
As part of our new small business, www.elevatedbestrentals.com, we’re renting out our Tesla Cybertruck and Pebble Flow EV Trailer. This Hipcamp stay turned out to be the perfect test run on our way back home after visiting Yosemite National Park.
We stayed at Red Tail Ranch and it was fantastic! Super easy to find, with a beautiful barn that gave us tons of extra space to spread out. The excellent outdoor showers and two clean, spacious bathrooms were a total game-changer. It gave us a relaxed, chill area to hang out outside the trailer and truly enjoy the property.
We highly recommend Red Tail Ranch — and Hipcamp in general — for anyone looking for a memorable outdoor getaway!

This is a great spot with FULL hookup in Mariposa. I love staying at places with all the amenities so I can do a full reset of the van before I head into a national park. Host was super helpful and accommodating. I'm staying again when I leave Yosemite.

This property is such a great find. It was raining off and on the weekend we were there to visit Yosemite and it was such a gift to have the covered area to cook & eat under. The bathrooms are nice & clean and the hot water was wonderful— a luxury not often available at campgrounds. I would definitely stay here again. It was just a short drive back to the campground after spending the day in Yosemite, with grocery stores and gas nearby.

What an absolute gem of a place! It's so obviously loved and cared for- and we had a wonderful stay to the point that we skipped our last day at Yosemite to hang out at Red Tail Ranch and walk around the meadow, play in the hammock, do yoga, read in the beautiful barn, and wash up in the epic shower. Rob is great & gave us such good advice for the area, and it was so fun to see his books in all the shops in the park! We had the place to ourselves but planning to come back with a big group, it's perfect for that. 10/10 would recommend!

Everything was just wonderful! Very close to the park entrance.
The shower, toilet, and the fact that there’s hot water — total game changer!!!
