Weekend Trip to Coppercreek Camp

We loved car camping at Copper Creek! The hosts were super responsive and made it easy for us to find the site after dark. The camp beautiful and has everything you need and the horses frolicking in the field were an added bonus!

2 nights at Quail Ridge RV Park

The campground was very quiet and in a beautiful tree. This campsite is made up with 60% Full-time RV. They had great wi-fi connection and a great dog park. the camp is about 15 miles from Lake Collins Lake and another small lake.

Weekend Trip to High Desert RV Hideaway

This was a great place to stay. We stopped for the night while traveling north. We had six deer about 50 feet away in the evening. The power, water and sewer were easily accessible. We didn’t need to wash clothes but the machines were right there if we had needed to.

2 nights at Bright Bear Camp in Tahoe NF

Kelley was an absolutely amazing host! Pearl the airstream was clean and cozy and equipped with everything needed for a campout in the woods. The sauna was an incredible experience - who wouldn’t want their own private sauna in the woods with a cold plunge shower?! It was an authentic Finnish sauna experience in the sierra mountains. The area is beautiful and there are plenty of trails, lakes, and pools to explore. Our pup loved it as well! If you’re looking for a night out in nature with little to no hassle, you’ve come to the right spot. And seriously - do yourself a favor and book the sauna!

Very private and quiet. We were the only ones there at that time (April) besides the camp director. There is 1 outdoor shower with hot water and 1 spout to haul water from. We had a nice time there.

1 night at Mosaic Farm

Great hosts, great property with amenities and an awesome view to boot! I finished a work assignment in San Francisco and needed a stopover on my way north to check out Lassen Volcanic National Park. Though a bit out of the way for my initial plan, this site had better appeal than the places available off of the 5 towards Redding. Unfortunately the bay traffic pushed my arrival time to after dark (2030). JD was very welcoming and supplied a concise tour of the property - including the composting toilets, and access to the bathroom inside of one of the vacant residences on the property. Communal firepit was even lit for me so all I needed to do was settle in and relax after a long drive. I made sure to wake up at 0530 to catch the view of the valley at sunrise before the mists moved in. Definitely look forward to coming back whenever I can. The platforms are quality construction and very sturdy. Each site is even supplied with a fire extinguisher. First site (closest to the house) has the best view of the valley. Bathrooms are a short 20yd walk away - vacant residences with flush toilet and hot shower only another 20yds away between the barns and equipment. Decent cell service (Verizon) too!

Definitely one of my favorites to get to my favorite trails. I can't believe it's taken me so long to book this spot. I love the hosts' hospitality and could not believe how beautiful it is at night with a small fire staring up at the stars.

The view was incredible! I absolutely loved camping at mosaic farm! It was amazing. Todd was super friendly, accommodating, and made our trip stress free. So thanks again, Todd! We had everything we needed and then some. The dogs were all well behaved and very sweet, especially with our puppy who is still learning social skills. The property is huge and Todd let us explore to our hearts content. We will definitely be staying here again. The peace and quiet was wonderful and we were sad to leave.

We had the absolute best time. Adam was a clear and helpful communicator the minute we booked the site. The cabin itself was definitely rustic - no bathroom and the only source of heating was a wood stove in the living room (so keep that in mind if you’re staying October-March; it gets cold at night and you’re throwing logs onto the fire every few hours). That said, the bed was arguably the most comfortable bed I’ve ever stayed on in a short term rental. The cabin had everything we needed, including beautiful trails, snow for the boys to sled on, and a chance to mentally reset and disconnect from our devices. There is WiFi near the main house so if you have to get online, there are no issues. I look forward to coming back with more friends and family.

Stayed a few nights with my wife, adult son and his girlfriend. Very private, easy to find, very well appointed and well maintained. Dirt road was kinda a bummer after winter, but doable. A little tight backing my 30’ trailer in, but we managed. Will likely stay again!

It is on this property that I saw my first grouse. Also look for warblers-notably Audubon's and the Hermit Warblers- along with the White-headed Woodpecker. You will likely hear a Pileated Woodpecker and if you are lucky you will see one Learn more about this land: Welcome to Sugarpine Slopes. The Sugarpine has the longest cones in the world and many birds and mammals like the pine nuts and use the tree for habitat. This is a spring through fall place only. There is no winter access. The property is at 5800 feet. Depending on the weather the road may close from Nov 15th to May 15th. The road on the property is a dirt road. All wheel drive or 4WD vehicles recommended although the lower section could be accessed by most vehicles. Shorter trailers allowed at Site A. Site 3 can also accommodate a small teardrop-style trailer The property is totally undeveloped at this time. It is a wildlife corridor for deer and bear (keep all food contained), the mountain quail and the blue grouse. Keep your eyes open for the Hermit Warbler, Audubon's Warbler, and our gorgeous visitor from the tropics the Western Tanager. You are likely to hear the Pileated Woodpecker and if you are lucky you will see it and its red crest in an undulating flight through the trees. The property has a lovely west facing slope which climbs gradually at first then more steeply to the top of the property. We have drive-in camping on the lower section. There is one walk-in site at the top of the property. There is wonderful hiking nearby with several trailheads in the area within approximately 4 miles. Some of the cabins have heat/AC. We have tent sites available with picnic tables and can accommodate dry-camping RVs. We are still working on installing RV hook-ups. May through October there is a bath and shower house with hot water and flush toilets. Propane fire pits are available for rent. We have an ice machine on in the summer months located by our Main Lodge. The winters are cold and snowy, spring and fall are ideal with warm sunny days and cool, crisp nights, and the summer has warm evenings and hot days. There is plenty of shade with large pine, cedar and oak trees and open sunny space in the meadow. Coppercreek Camp is your perfect mountain getaway for the whole family! Please note: The Dixie fire burned our town of Greenville in August 2021. There is ongoing repair work in the local area, a lot of burned forest, but still many beautiful sites to see. Much of our property burned, but we are rebuilding and have beautiful green trees with plenty of shade. All of our pictures on HipCamp are post-fire and up-to-date. Please come and support our special town as we rebuild! Camp Watanda at Lake Vera

FYI: We are a very small lake and experience seasonal lows towards the end of the summer. I cannot predict what the lake condition will be in August. Camp Watanda is a retired resident camp that we have converted to a vacation rental. We have 10 acres of wooded property, with the 4 camping kiosks close to the waterfront and 1 RV site on the waterfront. The camping kiosk all have 8-10 mattresses, grilling table, picnic table, cooler, smoke alarms, rake, broom and fire extinguishers. We are pet friendly with 1 dog per kiosk. Tents can be pitched on the elevated decks. Our waterfront has a large fire ring, 2-covered pergolas, canoes, kayaks, life jackets and charcoal grill. Lots of fish in the lake, since this is a private lake, no license is required. There is also a bathhouse (very primitive and in serious need of remodel) close by with 3 showers, 3 toilets and 3 sinks. Up by the lodge is a cell phone charging station and Wi-Fi, while we do have Wi-Fi, it is not guaranteed, we are in the mountains with inconsistent connection. Lodge is not available to campers as this is rented separately. No dispersed camping. RV CAMPING: Because of the steep driveway and blind curve, we limit the vehicle length to 25 overall length. Our driveway is more suitable for RV's and Camper Vans and not Travel Trailers being towed. If you rent a kiosk, all campers must be on the same kiosk unless you rent a second kiosk. If you have a camping van and plan on using the van and the kiosk, then that is a second site. You cannot tailgate on a reservation just because the party only has 2 people on the kiosk, and you have 2 in the Van to make 4 people. These are tents sites on a Kiosk, there is parking for cars or trucks at the kiosk, not suitable for RV or Travel Trailers. Those vehicles will have to park at the waterfront parking lot. There are no refunds for cancellations within 72 hours of arrival. Camp Watanda is private property, campers assume all liability for being on site. There is no lifeguard present. This is a natural habitat for woodland animals, there is an associated risk for camping in their home. Slips, trips and falls can occur on trails, camping structures and waterfront.

Our Escape

There is only one spot available at our property to reserve as we leave our trailer up there for most of the summer. The good news is you will have the place all to yourselves unless we happen to be there which is not very often and we will let you know if we overlap. This spot has a 30 amp RV plug and a sewer connection. There is no water or trash service so please bring your own water and practice pack in/pack out practices. This spot is for RV's only with a full restroom as we don't have restroom facilities onsite. This is a very quiet spot but does have a few neighbors within earshot so if you are planning on a party spot or having loud music this is not the spot for you. There is a large smoker/BBQ that is not maintained but is available for your use if you want, we have used it several times and it works great. There is also a firepit to use when fire season permits. We are only 4 miles from Graeagle, which is a great little town to explore and eat some ice cream in the park. There are many great lakes to explore in the immediate area including Lake Davis, Gold Lake, Upper Salmon Lake, and of course upper and lower sardine which are my favorites.

TURNER BEACH AT LAKE ALMANOR

Turner Beach At Lake Almanor is a privately owned vacant lakefront lot. The property is wide enough to accommodate 3 RV's/camp trailers end to end, ensuring no blocked views of the lake. You will be camping along Lake Almanor's East Shore on your own private campground instead of "combat camping" in the popular public campgrounds nearby. Additionally, the property can accommodate numerous smaller vans and tents. We have 2 mooring buoys and a large dock. (Dock may no longer be in the water after September) There is a sani-hut potty which is maintained/cleaned weekly. The property is located between the lake and the highway, so there will be road noise. Some guests have been bothered by the traffic and some have not. We have 2 SUP boards, a kayak, and a canoe as well as a 5-person pedal boat that can be borrowed while renting our beach. Doing so will be at your own risk and you are required to wear personal floatation devices (lifejackets). Lifejackets are not provided, so you will need to bring your own. We ask that you please respect our toys and take care not to damage them or lose any parts/pieces. All renters must take their own trash with them when they depart. No Fireworks, No firearms, No drugs allowed. Dogs are allowed and we do have a 10 x 10 x 6 kennel onsite. Campers are responsible for minding their pet's safety, politeness, and picking up their poo-poo's. Marshmallow roasting/cooking fires must be kept small and are only allowed in the provided fire ring. There is some small firewood onsite, and if you need more you can purchase nearby at Almanor Landscape Supply or bring your own. The early mornings are tranquil, and the sunsets are STUNNING! The 395 Ranch, Seclusion & Views!

This property lies at the base of the Sierra Mountains, approximately 9 miles north of Doyle, CA on the west side of US Route 395. Access to the ranch road is from US Route 395. Its elevation starts at 3800 feet and rises higher than 5,000 feet. The lower half is rolling high chaparral and the upper half is steep with forest land that was burned in the 2021 Dixie Fire. There are still plenty of live trees left. This ranch lies in Deer Hunting Zone X6b. Lassen National Forest is on the west boundary of this ranch, with a gate that allows access to the national forest. The 395 Ranch boasts incredible views for nearly 75 miles. The ground is primarily decomposed granite so mud never becomes a problem. Wind can be strong when weather systems approach. The campsites are very basic with no toilet facilities (at this time) but water is available for cooking and washing dishes. An outdoor enclosed shower is available as well. At this time (summer) the water is naturally warm from the pipe’s exposure to the sun and hot water from a flash heater will be available in the near future. Tents can be erected almost anywhere on the property, but campfires are strictly prohibited until the rainy/cold season. Water and an electric hookup is available next to the barn for RVs and travel trailers at an additional cost. Sewer service is not available. There is also an older but nice three-bedroom, one bath home that is also available for short term rentals. It is heated during the winter by two wood burning stoves and cooled comfortably during the summer with a swamp cooler. The rent for this house is based on the season, ranging from $169-$229 nightly plus extra fees for pets or more than three people. Visitors of the past have found hiking, looking for artifacts and rocks to be fun activities. It’s also been an amazing place for stargazing and using telescopes. Others simply enjoyed relaxing and enjoying the peace, quiet and views. High quality campfire wood is available for $12.00 a bundle.
