Earn this patch by being the first to spend a night outside at a new Hipcamp.
This site comes with a large tent on a raised platform, overlooking pastureland up towards Smith Peak. The tent is a semi-permanent fixture that sleeps two people on a queen-size inflatable mattress; there is room on the floor for a couple of sleeping bags if you choose to share your digs! There is an outhouse within a short walking distance. The outhouse also has a shower, no hot water, just a Wim Hof-inspired cold rinse! Lake Davis is about 5 miles up the road and open to fishing, paddle boarding, and a 7-mile trail to explore. A short 40-minute drive to the Lakes Basin Recreation Area, where you can find multiple hiking trails and many lakes to explore. Portola has been the host to the Lost Sierra Gravel Grinder bike race, and 10 miles west is Graeagle, California, for boutique shopping and some of the best coffee to be found at the Outpost, next to Mill Pond.This site comes with a large tent with a queen-size inflatable mattress. The tent sits on a raised platform with enough space on the west side of the tent to set up a couple of camp chairs and a small camp table. Just a few feet away, under the pines, you will find a picnic table to enjoy a meal or conversation.
