Terwer RV Park is the kind of place that is getting harder to find. It is simple, peaceful, and full of old-fashioned campground charm. We are not a luxury resort, and we do not try to be. What makes this place special is the open space, the quiet mornings, the scattered trees, the fresh coastal air, and the slower pace that makes you want to sit outside just a little longer.
The Klamath River is just over the levee, only a short walk from camp. It is a beautiful place to fish, swim, explore, or simply sit and enjoy the water. The river is known for salmon and steelhead fishing, and a valid fishing license is required. During peak fishing season, especially in August and September, you may hear early morning activity from guests heading out to the river.
We are located about 4 miles off Highway 101, close enough to be convenient but far enough away to feel tucked away from the rush. Wildlife is common in the area, so please secure your food and trash at night.
There is so much to explore nearby. Guests love visiting Redwood National and State Parks, Trees of Mystery, Klamath River Jet Boat Tours, coastal viewpoints, hiking trails, biking routes, and quiet places to wander among the redwoods.
A few things to know before you book:
* Firewood is available on site.
* Cell service can be spotty depending on your carrier. Free Wi-Fi is available and reaches most of the campground.
* Electric vehicle charging is $20 per charge and must be arranged ahead of time. 50 amp service is limited, and guests must provide their own adapters.
* Well-behaved pets are welcome.
* Kids, laughter, bikes, campfires, and simple outdoor fun are always welcome.
* We offer dry camping, 30 amp sites, and 50 amp pull-through sites.
* Late arrivals are okay. If you plan to arrive after 10:00 p.m., please text us before 9:00 p.m. so we can send check-in instructions.

Osprey’s perch is a small campsite perched above the Salmon River. The pit toilet is just downhill from the camp at the end of a trail winding down through the meadow and to the right. There is private access to secluded swimming and fishing holes on the lower Salmon River down the meadow trail and to the left. A bridge provides shelter from rain if needed. The area is known for its world class steelhead fishing and is unparalleled in its natural beauty. The elk even stop by occasionally on a late winter/early spring morning if you are lucky enough to get the timing right… I hope you enjoy our most recently additions, tent pads on a nice deep bed of chips, and a dog run for your best friend!

The campground is remotely located on private property and perfectly located for excursions to the Pacific Ocean, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, the Smith River National Recreation Area, and the Pacific Coast Ranges and mountain lakes such as the Devil's Punchbowl, Buck Lake, and Raspberry Lake.
Relax and free you mind while camping on 120+ acres of private property under starry skies with almost no light or noise pollution. You are not alone on the mountain as other people live here in the wild. You only have access to the campground and a nearby pond. A locked gate with code access. The road to get there is two and a half miles up the mountain, the first mile is paved and the other mile and a half is gravel. The road is maintained by the county and used daily by others that live and work here. In the surrounding area you can enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, surfing, beachcombing, birdwatching, and countless other outdoor activities. French Hill Trail is a few more miles up the mountain road.
The campsites have picnic tables and fire rings, and campers are provided with 5 gallons of potable water. An outdoor, COLD-water Artesian shower, out in the open mountain air with the wild things and an outhouse with a compost toilet are also provided. Bundles of firewood are available for an extra charge when you book your campsite.
The campsites are set within a deciduous and pine forest at about 1913 feet in elevation. There is a pond on the property, but its purpose is for wildlife habitat ONLY, so water activities are NOT allowed. NO swimming, NO fishing, NO boating, NO trapping, etc. The wild things live here!
The property owner has a dog, three cats, and a menagerie of yard birds such as turkeys, peacocks, guinea hens, chickens, ducks, geese, etc. They do make noise! Kirk has lived off-grid for over twenty years and holds a wealth of information about the Gasquet/Del Norte County area.
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the property is that it has had documented Sasquatch encounters over the past twenty years that have been published in "Tribal Bigfoot" (D. Paulides 2009). Kirk can tell you about his experiences with this and other phenomena on the property.

This site provided us ample space for our kids to run around in a beautiful setting. Close to beaches and the Redwoods state park, it was a great find. Plenty of space to turn around our 30’ trailer camper and a level site. Our hosts were kind enough to leave us enough firewood to last several days with plenty to spare.

Great spot for our RV to Basecamp for exploring the Rogue Valley. Tons of great wineries, a concert at the Britt Pavilion, exploring Jacksonville. Brad and Jen were gracious hosts who have a nice little rustic farm. We will be back next time we visit SW Oregon.

Judy is the best host and the river sites were unparalleled! Bathrooms and showers were hot and clean. Kids loved the disc golf and hanging on the dock. The location between Redwoods and Crescent City was perfect, right in the middle of where we wanted to explore. It was my favorite campsite of our entire trip.

We stayed for 4 nights at their little farm and enjoyed our stay. A Full hookup for a fair price and much better than an RV park. The hosts were great and it was a convenient location to visit the beach and the Redwoods. Be sure to visit the Stout Grove nearby. It is the prettiest place in the Redwoods. Thanks for sharing your place with us.

Cute little camping area next to farm pasture with cows and chickens. The camp are is totally fenced so my dog was able to be off leash and run around. Nice fire pit with chairs, a picnic table and a notice board with list of things to do in the area.

A wonderful spot to spring board off into the land of giant trees! Kimberley beach, just a mile or so down the road was not crowded and lovely. If all four spots are full it would be tight. We ended up in spot 4 and it was great (hammock included!)The horse and goat were fun to feed. Host was present and responsive. The eggs were a bonus!! Fuel up at the reservation, about 5 min south of crescent city. Trees of Mystery is a tourist trap but a lot of fun. Kids had fun walking through the path. Go early as it gets crowded in the afternoons.

Everything about our stay was magical. Our kids loved the animals and help Dar around the farm. Staying here felt like staying at an old friend's house. I can't wait to see what this little farm and land art becomes. This is must go if you are staying in the area!

We loved the campsite! It was fully enclosed so our dog could explore off leash, with plenty of room to roam. Picnic table was very clean and the fire pit was amazing! Bring your own firewood to get things started and then use the plentiful limb cuttings provided on the grounds. These were a bit wet but burned fine once we had a good fire going. We love the beach/sand dunes walk and Smith River walk. The neighboring property had the most beautiful animals too. Will definitely be back as this was one of the best camping experiences we have had when taking our dog.

Campground is conveniently located in immediate vicinity of Jedediah Smith Redwoods, providing one of few camping opportunities with utilities. Crescent City within easy drive and Prairie Creek Redwoods also within 45 minute drive. Campground and restrooms were clean and well kept. Sites had some separation so didn’t feel too packed together. Office staff were very welcoming and friendly and were very helpful in guiding us to local redwood groves. Would definitely return.
