This little park has been welcoming campers for more than 40 years, and our family is honored to help carry it into its next chapter. Terwer RV Park is the kind of place that is getting harder to find. It is simple, peaceful, and full of old-fashioned campground charm. We are not a luxury resort, and we do not try to be. What makes this place special is the open space, the quiet mornings, the scattered trees, the fresh coastal air, and the slower pace that makes you want to sit outside just a little longer.
The Klamath River is just over the levee, only a short walk from camp. It is a beautiful place to fish, swim, explore, or simply sit and enjoy the water. The river is known for salmon and steelhead fishing, and a valid fishing license is required. During peak fishing season, especially in August and September, you may hear early morning activity from guests heading out to the river.
We are located about 4 miles off Highway 101, close enough to be convenient but far enough away to feel tucked away from the rush. Wildlife is common in the area, so please secure your food and trash at night.
There is so much to explore nearby. Guests love visiting Redwood National and State Parks, Trees of Mystery, Klamath River Jet Boat Tours, coastal viewpoints, hiking trails, biking routes, and quiet places to wander among the redwoods.
A few things to know before you book:
* Firewood is available on site.
* Cell service can be spotty depending on your carrier. Free Wi-Fi is available and reaches most of the campground.
* Electric vehicle charging is $20 per charge and must be arranged ahead of time. 50 amp service is limited, and guests must provide their own adapters.
* Well-behaved pets are welcome.
* Kids, laughter, bikes, campfires, and simple outdoor fun are always welcome.
* We offer dry camping, 30 amp sites, and 50 amp pull-through sites.
* Late arrivals are okay. If you plan to arrive after 10:00 p.m., please text us before 9:00 p.m. so we can send check-in instructions.

Osprey’s perch is a small campsite perched above the Salmon River. The pit toilet is just downhill from the camp at the end of a trail winding down through the meadow and to the right. There is private access to secluded swimming and fishing holes on the lower Salmon River down the meadow trail and to the left. A bridge provides shelter from rain if needed. The area is known for its world class steelhead fishing and is unparalleled in its natural beauty. The elk even stop by occasionally on a late winter/early spring morning if you are lucky enough to get the timing right… I hope you enjoy our most recently additions, tent pads on a nice deep bed of chips, and a dog run for your best friend!

Welcome to the Wild West Coast! Where the mountains meet the sea.
The campground is remotely located on private property and perfectly located for excursions to the Pacific Ocean, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, the Smith River National Recreation Area, and the Pacific Coast Ranges and mountain lakes such as the Devil's Punchbowl, Buck Lake, and Raspberry Lake.
Relax and free you mind while camping on 120+ acres of private property under starry skies with almost no light or noise pollution. You are not alone on the mountain as other people live here in the wild. You only have access to the campground and a nearby pond. A locked gate with code access. The road to get there is two and a half miles up the mountain, the first mile is paved and the other mile and a half is gravel. The road is maintained by the county and used daily by others that live and work here. In the surrounding area you can enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, surfing, beachcombing, birdwatching, and countless other outdoor activities. French Hill Trail is a few more miles up the mountain road.
The campsites have picnic tables and fire rings, and campers are provided with 5 gallons of potable water. An outdoor, COLD-water Artesian shower, out in the open mountain air with the wild things and an outhouse with a compost toilet are also provided. Bundles of firewood are available for an extra charge when you book your campsite.
The campsites are set within a deciduous and pine forest at about 1913 feet in elevation. There is a pond on the property, but its purpose is for wildlife habitat ONLY, so water activities are NOT allowed. NO swimming, NO fishing, NO boating, NO trapping, etc. The wild things live here!
The property owner has a dog, three cats, and a menagerie of yard birds such as turkeys, peacocks, guinea hens, chickens, ducks, geese, etc. They do make noise! Kirk has lived off-grid for over twenty years and holds a wealth of information about the Gasquet/Del Norte County area.
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the property is that it has had documented Sasquatch encounters over the past twenty years that have been published in "Tribal Bigfoot" (D. Paulides 2009). Kirk can tell you about his experiences with this and other phenomena on the property.

I bought my property ten years ago because I was a paraglider pilot and wanted to be as close as possible to the world famous flying site, Woodrat Mountain. I no longer paraglide, but enjoy hosting pilots and friends from around the world. I love the interesting confluence of people who visit and connect--many end up staying much longer than they intended! The forest includes ferns, a variety of mushrooms (please don't touch them unless you are knowledgable about mushrooms), flowers, and mossy-covered old-growth Sitka trees. At night you can hear the sounds of the ocean nearby and the frogs in the forest.

Such an quiet and welcoming spot. Everything was like described. Enjoyed scenery, close by lonely beach and quietness.
#4 is last in the row and had the hammock right in front the van 😉
J & C warmly welcomed us and made our stay beautiful. No rooster around and for a farm stay a quiet night sleep.

We had a wonderful stay at Carolyn & Jose’s serene farm. They warmly greeted us and gave us fresh eggs and lots of local recs. Lovely property and lots of animals, we love the dogs. Super clean, had electrical hookups and a nice hammock. Very quiet at night, would definitely stay here again!

Lucy was an attentive and interested host. Our campsite #11 was beside an old growth giant redwood facing the Klamath River. Sunset and views were amazing!! Restroom/shower house was basic but clean and met all needs.

Vanessa’s site was so comfortable. Easy to pull into, nice and level for our camper van. We enjoyed waking up to the roosters and watching the cows mosey around on the other side of the fence.

We loved our stay here! It was enough off the beaten path that it was nice and quiet, but so close to the beach, hiking in the redwoods, and kayaking on the lake.
The site was great. A flatish area with gravel and grassy space if you have a tent with some adirondacks and a big fire circle.
The highland cows and farm fresh eggs were a plus! Would love to come back!

Redwood RV is a great spot for visiting the park nearby. Sites are well spaced and had what we needed. The site is very basic. Yes, it could use a couple updates in the restrooms, but it gives off a camp vibe.

We stumbled across this spot, driving back from Oregon and desperately needed a place while all the campgrounds around were sold out. Called the Park manager and she hooked us up with a great spot right on the river. We got in at night so had no idea but when we woke up, were greeted with a beautiful view of the river and peaceful surroundings. We were only there for about 10 hours, but I would definitely stop and stay there again. All the facilities are pretty standard, but for the price and location, It’s a great stop on your way up the coast.

"We really enjoyed our stay at Wild Hare. Our gracious hosts greeted us when we arrived, even though it was a bit late, and helped get us settled in at their beautiful little farm. It was a hot day but the farm’s big tree and the evening breeze off the hills cooled things down perfectly as we fell asleep listening to the local barn owl. The location was outstanding for our So Oregon adventures the next day to Lake of the Woods and the Rogue Creamery, and then super convenient for attending a concert at the Britt that evening. Would definitely recommend staying here!

The property was narrow but we were able to turn around at the end of the driveway and back our trailer in. We chose site 4 which was a really nice site under a big tree. When we arrived, there was construction being done on the house until 9:00pm but that didn’t continue for the rest of our stay. There were several time when the dogs were barking including very early in the morning the day we were leaving. The property was in a beautiful area and we loved feeding the animals. When the dogs weren’t barking and after the construction stopped, the property was very peaceful and relaxing. There were full hookups at our site and it was nice to have WiFi, although it was weak and kept disconnecting. We would definitely recommend this camp site to others and we will keep this site in mind for future trips. Jose and Carolyn were very friendly and welcoming and even brought us fresh eggs! Thank you for making our stay comfortable!

Beautiful views, kind campground host, spacious site. Lots of open space for kids to run around and play. Spent the days exploring the Redwoods and the evenings watching the sunset with a fire. Great location to base camp from.

The place was peaceful and very well kept. It was a little tricky getting our 40 foot 5th wheel in there, but I just came up the road from the south and then backed in. There is plenty of room once in the site. We will definitely be back!

Cute little farm with goats, chickens and lavender just a couple minutes from town. Brad was very nice and had lots of suggestion on things to do, places to go and where to get coffee. Just two hours from crater lake and about two and half to the northern tip of redwoods.

my husband and i loved being able to car camp here! there are no bathrooms on site, as it’s more intended for RV camping, but carolyn did direct us to a vaulted/pit toilet about 2 miles away. they had 3 beautiful friendly dogs, chickens, goats/sheep, and a horse! we were free to give them some treats and pet them :) carolyn introduced herself to us right after we pulled in, and ramon was very friendly. we would definitely camp here again!
