Quail Ridge RV Park has 17 acres nestled in the Plumas National Forest. We do NOT have direct water access. We are surrounded by four lakes, with Sly Creek and Lost Lake Reservoirs being the closest (about 3 mi. north of us), two major rivers and Feather Falls, the 3rd largest waterfall in California. Outdoor activities abound with fishing, swimming, boating, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking trails and mountain biking trails. You can also explore the local rivers and try your luck at gold panning. Our park is primarily divided into three areas: (1) we have 7 dedicated RV sites for weekend RV's that have full hook-ups, which include 30/50 amp. electric, water and septic connection (no pull through sites); (2) an area in the middle of the park where permanent residents live; and (3) a large area for volleyball, lounging, and playground on the opposite side of the park. Sorry, but due to the always present fire danger, no wood burning fires are allowed. You may use your own propane fire ring or propane or charcoal grill. We have clean laundry and showers and flush toilets on the north side of the park. There is one shower and one flush toilet for each men and women that are handicapped accessible. Showers cost $1 for 12 minutes of hot water. Cell phone service is spotty. AT&T/Cricket and sometimes Verizon work the best. We now have free Wi-Fi in the park! Quail Ridge RV Park is very pet friendly, and we have a beautiful new dog park for our 4-footed friends. However, we cannot accept aggressive breed dogs, or Pit-Bull mixed dogs (sorry, but our insurance company restricts these breeds). Please identify the dog breed when you are making a reservation. Our first time using hip camp and camping in this area. We have a pop-up trailer and two dogs. The hosts are wonderful. The bathroom is spacious and clean with good water pressure. People respected the quiet hours. There were lots of trees and shade. We left for the majority of the day and nothing that was left outside or inside our trailer was touched. We would stay here again.

We had the best time! The creek is so clear and beautiful, we spent most of the time swimming. It was perfect for kids. The play area was open, although the camp host did warn us about spiders and just to be cautions. Saw tons of turkeys and deers too which is always a huge plus. Definitely coming back!

We enjoyed camping on Mike’s property! He showed us the available sites when we arrived; two were already taken. The sites have a good amount of space between them. We settled on site #4 (I think, none of them have numbers displayed). We loved the easy accessibility to the creek. There was a place right near our site to jump into the deep swimming hole portion of the creek. The rest of the creek was very shallow. We used a SUP and some pool floatie rings and had a grand time. It was also blackberry season still, so we enjoyed picking and eating berries. As someone else mentioned, there are no picnic tables or fire rings at each site. I’d recommend bringing a folding table and a propane fire pit (CA fire restrictions are often in effect during the summer, as they were during our stay). Toilet is a port-a-potty. Playground was covered in spider webs, unfortunately. We spent the majority of our time in the water and it was so enjoyable!

We enjoyed using mikes land for a real rustic camp out. A very sweet, clean, useable creek that the kids absolutely loved jumping, swimming, and exploring. Mike met us and showed us to our campsite, he also referred us to an awesome swim area on the yuba river. The only restroom is a porta potty but it is camping after all! Excellent host and camp experience!

We recently stayed at Camp Runamuck Hollow and had a genuinely enjoyable time overall. The highlight of the campground is definitely the river — calm, clean, and perfect for both young swimmers and adults looking to cool off or just relax. It added a peaceful and refreshing element to the entire stay. The campsites themselves are fairly spacious and the general setting is quiet, even though the main road is visible from some of the sites. Thankfully, traffic noise wasn’t an issue at night, which made for a restful sleep under the stars. However, there are a few areas where improvements could really elevate the experience. First, the campground currently operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and none of the sites are clearly numbered or designated. This made arrival and setup a bit confusing, especially during busier times. Having numbered or reserved sites would really help guests know exactly where they’re staying in advance. Another thing to note: there are no picnic tables or fire rings at individual sites. It’s also not clear whether campfires are allowed on-site, which left us guessing a bit. Some better signage or communication around campfire rules would be helpful. For families with kids, the playground is unfortunately not usable at the moment — it’s overgrown with weeds and entirely covered in spiders. It’s a shame because a little maintenance could make it a great play space for children. All in all, Camp Runamuck Hollow is a solid spot for a relaxing

We had a great experience on our recent camping trip! Pamela, our host, was incredibly helpful and kind throughout our stay. She gave very clear instructions, which made everything easy to follow. Mike's campsite was wonderful! I went with a group of friends for July 4th weekend and we stayed at the campsite across the creek and loved it. So nice to hear the water from the tents. It wasn't too remote so we could easily get to grocery and convenience stores. Also, Mike was very helpful and welcoming and his son was a delight. Overall, a wonderful experience!

This property lies at the base of the Sierra Mountains, approximately 9 miles north of Doyle, CA on the west side of US Route 395. Access to the ranch road is from US Route 395. Its elevation starts at 3800 feet and rises higher than 5,000 feet. The lower half is rolling high chaparral and the upper half is steep with forest land that was burned in the 2021 Dixie Fire. There are still plenty of live trees left. This ranch lies in Deer Hunting Zone X6b. Lassen National Forest is on the west boundary of this ranch, with a gate that allows access to the national forest. The 395 Ranch boasts incredible views for nearly 75 miles. The ground is primarily decomposed granite so mud never becomes a problem. Wind can be strong when weather systems approach. The campsites are very basic with no toilet facilities (at this time) but water is available for cooking and washing dishes. An outdoor enclosed shower is available as well. At this time (summer) the water is naturally warm from the pipe’s exposure to the sun and hot water from a flash heater will be available in the near future. Tents can be erected almost anywhere on the property, but campfires are strictly prohibited until the rainy/cold season. Water and an electric hookup is available next to the barn for RVs and travel trailers at an additional cost. Sewer service is not available. There is also an older but nice three-bedroom, one bath home that is also available for short term rentals. It is heated during the winter by two wood burning stoves and cooled comfortably during the summer with a swamp cooler. The rent for this house is based on the season, ranging from $169-$229 nightly plus extra fees for pets or more than three people. Visitors of the past have found hiking, looking for artifacts and rocks to be fun activities. It’s also been an amazing place for stargazing and using telescopes. Others simply enjoyed relaxing and enjoying the peace, quiet and views. High quality campfire wood is available for $12.00 a bundle.

Our park is primarily divided into three areas: (1) we have 7 dedicated RV sites for weekend RV's that have full hook-ups, which include 30/50 amp. electric, water and septic connection (no pull through sites); (2) an area in the middle of the park where permanent residents live; and (3) a large area for volleyball, lounging, and playground on the opposite side of the park. Sorry, but due to the always present fire danger, no wood burning fires are allowed. You may use your own propane fire ring or propane or charcoal grill. We have clean laundry and showers and flush toilets on the north side of the park. There is one shower and one flush toilet for each men and women that are handicapped accessible. Showers cost $1 for 12 minutes of hot water. Cell phone service is spotty. AT&T/Cricket and sometimes Verizon work the best. We now have free Wi-Fi in the park! Quail Ridge RV Park is very pet friendly, and we have a beautiful new dog park for our 4-footed friends. Hear wolves howling in the near distance and the frogs croaking. A quiet, secluded place to get back to nature, have fun, relax or meditate. A great place for families, spiritual seekers, individuals, adventurers, couples, groups and mountain bike enthusiasts. After driving less than one and a third mile down a dirt/gravel road, a sense of awe arises at the openness and offerings of this space.  Activities: include Mini Golf, Double Horseshoe Pit, Disc Golf, half Basketball Court, Volleyball/Badminton Court, a Sacred Circle, private trail, creek, and miles of mountain biking trails from property, The creek on the property is a 10 minute walk on an enchanting intermediate trail through the forest. The pristine waters offer several 3 feet deep dipping holes. The property is also used to support people in healing. Guided spiritual journeys and on-site life and business coaching are available by prearrangement.  Privacy and what to expect: The property is secluded and typically very quiet.  Other guests may be staying here. There are three drive-in (parking next to) tent sites nestled in the trees and three walk in sites.  The neighbors appreciate their privacy and on occasion they may have music at night. The road: Trailers not recommended but perfect for those seeking a bit of adventure and enjoy driving back roads. Smaller trailers welcome but be advised of possible potholes, semi-steep grades, one-way traffic, and limited road signs. Please make sure that all drivers read driving directions.  Tent Spaces - 6 tent spaces with 4-person capacity. Parking next to sites 1-3 available for small vehicles. Tent sites 4 -6 are walk in sites. Parking for these sites is approximately a 3–5-minute walk. Prearranged small tent set up is available for all sites.   Spaces 1-3 combined work well for a group. Please include all individuals in your booking headcount including all children over the age of 1 year old. Dogs are welcome. Please remember to pay $5 per dog/ per night in the extras. Dog sitting available for 1 - 2 dogs at a time. Must meet dog first. Be sure to bring flashlights and lanterns, it does get dark at night!  Bring mosquito repellent. We are at 4000-foot elevation so it can be cooler here than in lower areas. Fire ban is in affect and therefore No fires are allowed in camp sites. Feel free to bring your own camp stove and food to cook. So many wondrous nearby attractions. Just a few miles away: Scott’s Flat Lake, Pioneer Trail (mountain biking), the historic Little Town of Washington next to the Yuba River, Historic Nevada City and Grass Valley, and the Yuba River. The Harmony Ridge Market and the 5 Mile House Restaurant are just a 10-minute drive. In about an hour’s drive you can be at Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park, Donner Lake, Tahoe National Forest, the majestic Sierra Buttes, Lakes Basin, Sacramento and Reno.
