The river rose unexpectedly yesterday, about a 3 feet. There is no indication when it might recede. For the sake of safety, canoes and kayaks are not allowed until the river recedes. Fishing is still allowed from the bank.
(Cole Ranch is a working ranch, surrounded by walnut and almond orchards. Harvest for these orchards occur mid-August thru September, and can create dust and noise. Occasional noise from common ranching activities may be heard. The L3 Ranch was founded in 1974 when my grandfather bought the property for his show cows. In 1978, someone gave him a racehorse to pay off a debt. From then on, the property was known for its Quarter horse race horses, with some of the best in the state being born right here. In 2013 he found our he had cancer and handed the ranch down to me, Travis. While he survived the cancer, he's happy in retirement playing cards with his buddies every week and hanging out with his dog.Now the ranch is known for its horse boarding, cattle, and goats. We even hold weddings and events at the lake sometime. My main goal is to bring the ranch in a more in line with sustainable ranching. You’ll find cows, goats, chickens, llamas and our two beloved livestock dogs on the property. Many pools to cool off in and sweeping sunset views from the highest point on the property. Heart Valley ranch hosts 300+ acres of rolling pasture nestled along the beautiful Jackass Creek. Access to Yosemite via 120 takes 1 hour , Groveland 10 minutes, and Coulterville 5 minutes. You’ll find cows, goats, chickens, llamas and our two beloved livestock dogs on the property. Many pools to cool off in and sweeping sunset views from the highest point on the property. There is lots of nature to enjoy including bird watching, seasonal wildflowers, and other wild animals.
We welcome all ❤️🌈
We highly recommend not bringing any animals, including service animals. We have two livestock guardian dogs that free roam the property and they are not friendly with other animals.

This year, water levels are lower than usual due to limited rainfall. As a result, swimming at the swimming hole will be closed starting in early July. We recommend planning accordingly and checking back here for updates as the season progresses. Thank you for your understanding!

Camp Joy is a piece of heaven. It’s just 1 spot so there is literally no one around. Butch and Emma were great, felt like they were watching out for us all night. Just note no water, no electricity, no restrooms or garbage cans. It’s totally rule.

This is 2nd time at this campground, so perhaps it goes without saying that I think it's awesome!! I decided to do a little mini solo camp out and felt safe/secure the whole time on my own. Water, electricity, and wifi all worked great during my stay. The campsite has a gravel base, so if towing a heavier rig, best to use 4-wheel drive.
Such a special spot and close to fun things like Columbia historic park and just a short drive to Sonora. I also did some great hiking just a 10 minute drive away.

I loved tent camping at this location, the hosts were very nice and accommodating when it came to us leaving multiple times throughout the day. They also had firewood available which they so kindly delivered to our campsite! The value was also good they gave me enough wood to keep the fire stoked for 5+ hours for 20$. The showers and bathrooms were a nice luxury they weren’t gold star but the water was hot and they were clean! The campsites were right next to the water front and there is a really private vibe to the campsites. I was lucky enough to go and be the only camper there and it was amazing! I definitely recommend, if your on the fence then go ahead and book, you won’t regret it!

This is an outstanding campsite. Beautiful vista's, private, easy access and level. We watched the sunset on one side and the sunrise on the other. Dustin is very kind and responsive. My absolute favorite site to date! Love, love, love Camp Joy!

The space was wide open and flat with perfect ground for tent camping. It was a bit hard to find a spot in the dark so highly suggest planning to set up before dusk, but there were a few light posts present. Check in and check out was simple, fast, and requires no human interaction. Area seems very safe - even more so with the fancy high tech gate system into the ranch - and the nearby downtown area is fancy. The restroom/shower room was clean but can be a bit of a walk from the camp sites, so plan accordingly. Morning dew made it so that your socks are likely to get wet making it to the restroom!

Stayed here for my daughter’s birthday trip to Yosemite. We spent the day hiking and came back here to sleep. It was too cold for a tent so camped out in the car. Was a great campsite, very clean and quiet. We especially enjoyed all of the cows.

Highly recommend this spot if you love quiet, secluded camping. The host, Jarrett, was really friendly and helpful. He greeted us when we got there and gave us a run down of everything we needed to know for our stay. The hill top view of the sunrise and sunset was beyond beautiful. We recently spent a day at this amazing campsite and it was an absolute treat! The host was super flexible and welcoming, which made everything so easy and stress-free.
The common area was perfectly set up with a pergola for shade, games, and firepits—a great spot to relax, play, and just hang out. The outdoor kitchen with a grill and grass pit was incredible and made food prep so much fun. Even the bathroom facilities were clean and well-equipped, which was a nice touch for the evening.
Everything was thoughtfully arranged, making it feel cozy, fun, and effortless. Perfect spot for a evening getaway with friends or family - we’ll definitely be back!
