RV camping in Central Coast

Generally speaking, destinations south of the San Francisco Bay Area and north of greater Los Angeles are considered part of California’s Central Coast, encompassing hotspots such as Monterey with its golf courses and marine life, Big Sur with its Redwood groves and dramatic coastline, and beautiful Santa Barbara, the “American Riviera.” Surfers gather on the waves in Santa Cruz, Cayucos, and Pismo Beach, while nature lovers are in heaven just inland from the coast, where the Santa Ynez Mountains, Santa Lucia Mountains, and Los Padres National Forest feature thousands of miles of hiking, biking, and horseback-riding trails. You can also visit wineries in the Paso Robles wine region. All kinds of RV parks can be found, from large resorts with bells and whistles to limited state park campgrounds that may not have hookups. Weather along the coast is typically mild with warm summers and cooler, often wet Winters. Morning fog is not uncommon.
