This park gets its rather self-descriptive name from the six beautiful rivers that flow through its borders, but don’t the name fool you. There is a lot more than just rivers to check out here. More than a million rambling acres of forest take you through foggy and mystical redwood landscapes. Further inland, miles of towering Douglas firs, glacial peaks, and hidden pools just wait to be discovered. Of course, the rivers are the main attraction. You can’t go two feet without tripping over a perfect swimming hole. After your dip, there are plenty of warm rocks to lay out on. Welcome to the Wild West Coast! Where the mountains meet the sea.
The campground is remotely located on private property and perfectly located for excursions to the Pacific Ocean, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, the Smith River National Recreation Area, and the Pacific Coast Ranges and mountain lakes such as the Devil's Punchbowl, Buck Lake, and Raspberry Lake.
Relax and free you mind while camping on 120+ acres of private property under starry skies with almost no light or noise pollution. You are not alone on the mountain as other people live here in the wild. You only have access to the campground and a nearby pond. A locked gate with code access. The road to get there is two and a half miles up the mountain, the first mile is paved and the other mile and a half is gravel. The road is maintained by the county and used daily by others that live and work here. In the surrounding area you can enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, surfing, beachcombing, birdwatching, and countless other outdoor activities. French Hill Trail is a few more miles up the mountain road.
The campsites have picnic tables and fire rings, and campers are provided with 5 gallons of potable water. An outdoor, COLD-water Artesian shower, out in the open mountain air with the wild things and an outhouse with a compost toilet are also provided. Bundles of firewood are available for an extra charge when you book your campsite.
The campsites are set within a deciduous and pine forest at about 1913 feet in elevation. There is a pond on the property, but its purpose is for wildlife habitat ONLY, so water activities are NOT allowed. NO swimming, NO fishing, NO boating, NO trapping, etc. The wild things live here!
The property owner has a dog, three cats, and a menagerie of yard birds such as turkeys, peacocks, guinea hens, chickens, ducks, geese, etc. They do make noise! Kirk has lived off-grid for over twenty years and holds a wealth of information about the Gasquet/Del Norte County area.
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the property is that it has had documented Sasquatch encounters over the past twenty years that have been published in "Tribal Bigfoot" (D. Paulides 2009). Kirk can tell you about his experiences with this and other phenomena on the property.

Terwer RV Park is the kind of place that is getting harder to find. It is simple, peaceful, and full of old-fashioned campground charm. We are not a luxury resort, and we do not try to be. What makes this place special is the open space, the quiet mornings, the scattered trees, the fresh coastal air, and the slower pace that makes you want to sit outside just a little longer.
The Klamath River is just over the levee, only a short walk from camp. It is a beautiful place to fish, swim, explore, or simply sit and enjoy the water. The river is known for salmon and steelhead fishing, and a valid fishing license is required. During peak fishing season, especially in August and September, you may hear early morning activity from guests heading out to the river.
We are located about 4 miles off Highway 101, close enough to be convenient but far enough away to feel tucked away from the rush. Wildlife is common in the area, so please secure your food and trash at night.
There is so much to explore nearby. Guests love visiting Redwood National and State Parks, Trees of Mystery, Klamath River Jet Boat Tours, coastal viewpoints, hiking trails, biking routes, and quiet places to wander among the redwoods.
A few things to know before you book:
* Firewood is available on site.
* Cell service can be spotty depending on your carrier. Free Wi-Fi is available and reaches most of the campground.
* Electric vehicle charging is $20 per charge and must be arranged ahead of time. 50 amp service is limited, and guests must provide their own adapters.
* Well-behaved pets are welcome.
* Kids, laughter, bikes, campfires, and simple outdoor fun are always welcome.
* We offer dry camping, 30 amp sites, and 50 amp pull-through sites.
* Late arrivals are okay. If you plan to arrive after 10:00 p.m., please text us before 9:00 p.m. so we can send check-in instructions.

The Redwoods Bend Retreat is a place to get away from it all. Located on the Yurok reservation right on the Klamath River just outside Orick, CA, we are "off the grid", through a Redwood forest and over a mountain down into the Klamath River valley. We have a 5 acre meadow, and orchard with 50 trees, peaches pears, apples, cherries, plums, pluots, apricots and grapes. We are right on the Klamath river. It's a great place to come and recharge your internal batteries. There is no cellphone service and none of our sites have internet service.
Our Main House was built in 1952 and retains the flavor of the 50’s. It houses a kitchen, dining hall, a living room, two bedrooms and a bathroom with a bathtub and shower.
Our log-built Lodge overlooks the Klamath River with 3 bedrooms, a full kitchen, bathroom and wrap-around covered porch.
Our Pumpkin and Blue Cottages. They are close to the double Yellow Shower house and toilets, and they have hot and cold running water, a propane cooktop, and a wood stove for heat. We do NOT have refrigeration, and our solar batteries or generator provides us lights at night. Campers who use our Cottages may use their own sleeping bags, but we have beds with mattresses and pillows and clean bedding. We also have an Upper Barn bedroom and half-bath rental.
Our two-story Riverview Yurt appeals to folks who want a full kitchen, a private shower and flush toilet overlooking the Klamath river from our 50 x 50 foot upper deck. Luscious to sit outside and watch the river flow by during the day, and to let the water lull you to sleep at night. For families (up to 8), folks who like to fish, or old friends who just want a very special get-away.
Each of our six campsites have a picnic table and a fire pit. Our Maple River, Grotto River and Pepperwood River sites overlook the gorgeous Klamath River. Our Morning Meadow, Orchard Meadow, and Deer Meadow sites are close to our 5 acre meadow where blacktail deer graze in the evenings.
We have a Yellow double Shower House with two separate sides, each with a toilet, sink and shower and on demand hot water, so folks don't have to wait. There's also a new Camp Shower at the corner of the orchard for our campers, along with two outhouses for camper use, one at the bottom of the road down to the meadow, and another in the woods just past Deer Meadow Camp.
We see lots of wildlife; silver foxes, a bald eagle and a family of river otters downstream, vultures, blue heron, occasionally an osprey will fly overhead clutching a freshly caught salmon and call to each other to brag about it! There are rare sightings of timid black bears who run from humans, but sometimes can be seen grazing in the meadow with the black-tail deer.
We're surrounded by old logging trails made by the lumber companies 80 years ago when they clear cut the old growth redwood on our side of the mountain, and now it's completely reforested with 200 ft tall Doug Fir, Madrone, Cedar, Oak, other pine species and Pepper wood trees, and we have written permission from the Green Diamond company to allow guest to hike on their adjacent properties.

While it’s an older campground, it is very well maintained and it appears as if the owners are upgrading the facilities.
We experienced fabulous communication all throughout our visit and were met at the entrance before we could even park the RV to check in. We were promptly escorted to our site where we enjoyed a peaceful night with full hook ups.
We would certainly stay again whenever passing through the Redwoods area. We wish the new owners great success!

We stayed two days at Courtney's camp area. Courtney was welcoming, helpful, and kind. As soon as we arrived, she and her family welcomed us with a big smile and asked how we were doing. She lent us a tent, because I had forgotten to pack part of my tent. She saved our day and experience. On our last day, she suggested places to visit around Klamath and other cities.
The camping area was clean, quiet, and peaceful. I highly suggest this place.

We loved this place! Highlights were the location overlooking the river, your very own private swimming area, the privacy, and the space. It was kind of like glamping, with the shower outdoors and having to walk a little ways to the port-o-potty toilet. But also so much better than your average glamping because you don’t have to deal with anybody at all! The property is conveniently located off the highway and close to a convenience store where you can buy some basic items. You do hear the highway, as it is just across the river. But it’s not too bothersome. We spent four nights but would have been happy to stay longer. Definitely not for anyone with mobility challenges or kiddos that aren’t old enough to follow safety precautions. Hope to come back someday!

We had a very good stay here. Even though we booked and arrived quite late, the host was extremely kind and accommodating. He came out to meet us and personally guided us to the correct campsite, which we really appreciated—especially since he was likely trying to make sure we did not disturb the other guests.
The campground had all the basic facilities you would expect from a well-run RV park. Nothing felt overly fancy, but everything was practical, comfortable, and well maintained.
One important tip for future guests: make sure to secure your food and coolers at night. We left our cooler outside the car, and a small raccoon managed to open it and eat our peaches! It was a funny reminder that there is plenty of wildlife nearby, but definitely keep food sealed and stored safely.
The only minor issue was that the shower water was not very hot when we used it. I am not sure whether that was because we arrived so late or if it was just a temporary issue.
Other than that, everything went smoothly, and we had no problems at all. We are especially grateful that the host welcomed and helped us so late at night.

Cool spot, exactly the kind of place I enjoy staying. Access to the river made it nice to end the day with a dip, although it does take some concentration to get down there. As others have said, a small walk to the porta potty to use the restroom. Has a mini fridge, stove top and sink. Outdoor shower was nice.
There were some issues when I arrived but the host was willing to provide a partial refund due to the issues. Hopefully I'll be back again!

What a sweet spot! pretty, open site with lots of grassy shrubs and bushes. Just comfortable and beautiful. Nice fire pit. Fully fenced so the puppy could wander. Just a perfect site for us. And then the next morning drove just a couple miles to Kellogg Beach… and what a fabulous beach. Wide open, no people , spectacular. So a camp site not to miss!

Driving in we passed multiple public river sites that were packed with people. We landed at camp and had a Beautiful swimming hole all to ourselves. River access wasn’t too difficult but wouldn’t recommend for very small kids. Had 7 and 9 year olds that were swimmers and they were fine. Water out of the faucets tasted fine. No pit toilet is ideal but this was one of the nicest I’ve seen (no smell, flies, spiders etc.). Words can’t describe how clear/clean/perfect the water in that river is. So nice to get away from the world and relax.
