The location was unbeatable and the hospitality was fantastic. Michael was super welcoming. The bathroom was maybe cleaner than my own. We ate his eggs our whole trip and they were delicious.

2 nights at El Pais Motel & Campgrounds

This is one of the cutest trailer parks I have been too. Think 70s vintage inspired . They have free range chickens so you can eat all the eggs you would like . They also have a vintage kitchen to cook in. Along with a large outdoor eating area. 730 am coffee was a great way to start the day. They also offer free laundry and ice . Our daughter lives in town and we will be back!!

Weekend Trip to La Hacienda Chuparosa

My partner and I had a lovely time on Julie's land. It was perfect for what we were looking for and we enjoyed the dogs and farm animal friends, and the peaceful evenings. We also enjoyed being so close to the east side of Saguaro National Park - just a 15 minute drive to the trailhead we hiked from. The bathroom space was maintained nicely. I was actually able to log into work from the campsite, so the wifi was quite good for those who might want that. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend for others.

Weekend Trip to La Hacienda Chuparosa

I felt welcomed and acommated for here. The hosts worked with me as I was having scheduling difficulties on my part and were nice to me but please be respectful of their time as I say onto you. I can tell they have a love for animals and work hard to maintain a peaceful space. It amplified my stay in Tuscon and found the area relaxing when coming back from where ever. I recommend checking out the bear canyon trailhead near this spot to get the full experience, but camping here was very nice. Since there are horses on site, it'll keep all matters of venomous critters away as they regularly move about, but the horses are very quiet at night so I was able to rest well. It's far enough from the city to hear the nature of the sanoran desert. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Deacon’s a great host and made us feel welcome, with plenty of stories about the property and help gathering firewood. We had two cars and four tent campers, and there is plenty of space to spread out. Thanks for letting us stay!

What a fun spot in Tucson! Site was great and we loved the clubhouse/patio area with vintage items all around. The pool was cool and welcoming - as were the hosts, Toni and Karl. Movies after dark and coffee in the morning and music playing in the clubhouse! It was relaxing - a great place to come back to after a day of exploring.

What an epic adventure in the Tucson area desert! Deacon and Debi’s site is cozy and quiet in some beautiful wilderness. They were welcoming and happy to answer questions and make the stay great. I loved the deck for stargazing at night. Very cool site!

This place is epic such an incredible experience of the Wild West. Debi & Deacon are excellent hosts, warm inviting & great storytellers. The sunsets are really something!

4 nights at Rancho Relaxo

Claire is a wonderful host. Her 4 acre ranch of goats, chickens, tortise is a special slice of heaven. Oh, did I mention the best outdoor shower anywhere? You will love it!

Weekend Trip to Iron Quail Ranch

Iron Quail is amazing. I can't say enough nice things. The hosts are super attentive and accessible. The sites are impeccable. The views spectacular, you're surrounded by breathtaking views 360⁰. The sunsets!!!!! The bathhouse is clean. Opt to have a mesquite pancake bfast. You won't be disappointed. Don't be concerned if you book the Kitt site and the proximity to the goats. They do not make a peep through the night.

1 night at Camp Saguaro

I was a last minute camper looking for a spot near the Saguaro National Park and was welcomed to Michele's campground. Straight forward directions led me to the grounds and my site at Javelina Hollow. I had plenty of room to pitch my tent by the big saguaros in the sunset and found the grounds subtly lit with colored solar lamps. I had a nice peaceful evening under the stars. Coyotes howled and owls hooted. In the lovely morning I was woken by a dawn chorus of quail and other birds, made my coffee and walked the premises discovering all of the super cool, creative art features that helped separate campsites and are placed about. The two flush toilets and two showers with running warm water, wow, what a treat! I loved the little Mercantile and super special, funky (but well designed) adobe and other structures on site. What an absolute treat!

Weekend Trip to Camp Saguaro

I booked this day last minute. Just needing one overnight, but I wish I had the time to stay longer! This place is very special. Everything is meticulous, from the laundry area to the bathrooms, well marked paths and really all the grounds. You can see, the owners put their heart and soul into this with all the little extra touches everywhere.

With the Saguaro National Park Visitor Center, Tucson Mountain Park, and Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum all within four miles, there is plenty of opportunity to explore the outdoors. Tucson Mountain Park and Saguaro National Park boast hundreds of miles of hiking trails, and non-motorized mountain bikes are permitted on the trails in Tucson Mountain Park. Let us be your base camp for desert exploration whether it's hiking, riding, birdwatching, and learning. Come to Camp Saguaro and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the desert. Our friendly hosts can help you plan a great day, some of them even have their Certified Tourism Amabssador credentials. Please note: We are tobacco-free, medicinal herbs are legal and ok as long as children are not around. What to expect: We are in a rural neighborhood where most parcels are 1-3 acres, we have seven acres. It's quiet around here but along with the natural sounds of the desert like yipping coyotes, and woodpeckers pecking, you may hear a horse, dog, or chicken. While we are on the outskirts of Tucson, we are not completely remote. We have carved our sites out of the natural layout of the desert. There are many kinds of cactus in our area in addition to the magnificent Saguaro, and uneven areas when walking. We keep it as natural as possible. We have a small "Mercantile" on property. This is our office, but we also have items you may have forgotten, and souvenirs made by local artists. Also available is firewood, and ice is for sale for your convenience. We have a small Laundry Shack (two washers, two dryers) 2.00 wash/2.00 dry. You'll need cash for these things, we do not take any other form of payment at this time. Camp Saguaro is tobacco-free. We (Tim and Victoria) moved out to our place in the desert in February 2008 along with our many plants. We have continued to grow our little farm of 4 1/2 acres to what it is today, which includes an orchard with about 50 fruit and nut trees and enclosed garden/greenhouse structures with veggies and herbs that are protected from wildlife and the elements. We have a seasonally heated pool with 3/4 wraparound deck and amazing views of the Tucson Mountains. We have a basketball court, a ping pong table, cornhole court as well for recreation. Our Beach site has a domed 'chill zone' with heaters in the winter, comfortable chairs for relaxation and a great spot to let your dog hang out unleashed. Our Prickly Pear site has a pull through for campers and RVs. Our RV site has 30 amp electric and black water dump station. Our property in a 160-acre neighborhood surrounded by open desert state lands. In our sustainable community/neighborhood are like minded, peaceful people who are as connected to and respectful of the land as we are. We are looking forward to hosting Hipcampers and sharing our lovely slice of heaven.
