Hawks Hideaway Camping, LLC

17 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents7 acres · Cottonwood, AZ
We offer various camping accommodations, as well as a teepee. See our different listings for info on each. A few choice examples of local activities to do on or very near to our campsite include: Bird watching, hiking, river rafting or tubing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, horseback riding, stargazing, and even rockhounding. This area conforms to the Arizona Dark Sky initiative, and while we are not dark-sky certified, we've had several guests compliment us on our location. When it comes to rockhounding, or amateur geology, this is a fantastic area for exploration and study.  The cliff walls of the Verde River offer clear and distinct sedimentary layers, and the frequent flooding of the massive sandy riverbed reveals countless undiscovered treasures. We gladly welcome pets, including horses, as long as the guests inform us of their presence, and takes care of all their needs, including cleaning up any mess. There is a professional horse-boarding field and stables adjacent to our property, and a long pleasant trail allows horseback riders to follow the Verde Greenway into Old Town Cottonwood if they so desire. Please remember that this is a natural and secluded spot located directly adjacent to the state-maintained Verde Ripparian Greenway and the Verde River. This means you may encounter wildlife and pests associated with being in such close connection to nature. Be prepared to tuck your food away and bring ample protection from the insects.

Sacred Springs

5 sites · Lodging, Tents8 acres · Lake Montezuma, AZ
Sacred Springs A phenomenal, sacred riparian corridor. Sacred Springs offers a retreat for seekers of serenity and spiritual renewal. Just up the creek from the iconic Montezuma Castle National Monument and down from the enchanting Montezuma Well. Your journey will begin long before you arrive, as you enter into the sacred river valley and embark on the primitive road that leads to our desert oasis. From our campsites, you'll have the remarkable opportunity to witness the echoes of the past and the pulse of the present, as a active view of the nearby I-17 highway traces the path of this ancient route. As travelers journey along this prehistoric corridor, their footsteps echo those of countless generations who traversed these lands long before us. Driving atop the mesa, you'll feel the powerful frequency of the desert enveloping you and by the time you reach Sacred Springs you’ll sense, the immense potential for transformation and connection that awaits you. Our campsites have breathtaking, panoramic sunrise and sunset views and overlooks a powerful confluence of Wet Beaver Creek and Dry Beaver Creek. While Sacred Springs offers a breathtaking retreat amidst the beauty of nature, it's important to note the inherent dangers of our unique landscape. Perched on a cliff 60 feet above the creek, our property boasts stunning views and serene surroundings—but it also requires vigilance and care. The terrain here is steep and unforgiving, reminding us to slow down and savor each moment mindfully. (Please, remain on trails at all times.) With every step, it's crucial to remain fully present, ensuring proper footing and safe navigation at all times. As you explore the wonders of Sacred Springs, let this be an opportunity to hone your senses and cultivate a deeper connection with the earth beneath your feet. Embrace the challenge of traversing the rugged terrain, knowing that every cautious step brings you closer to the heart of this sacred sanctuary. This land holds the echoes of a prehistoric ancient community that thrived right here, utilizing irrigation for farming and dwelling in cliffside abodes. Picture yourself immersed in the rich history of the Hisat'sinom, sitting in a cave dwelling pondering about the daily lives of the ancients. You'll have the opportunity to reconnect with yourself, and to heal. Relax fully immersed in a natural riparian corridor as you hike along the creek, find your peace in one of our hammock swings next to the creek, or witness the breathtaking sunrise and sunset, from the best seat in Arizona. —With mindfulness and respect for the land, may your visit be one of discovery, growth, and profound reverence for the natural world. Grand Canyon Wander Camp

16 sites · Lodging50 acres · Williams, AZ
After traveling the world extensively for over 5 years we discovered that there are few places as beautiful as the great outdoors. We live for untouched wilderness, gorgeous landscapes, and stunning sunrises. Thus Wander Camp was born, a Glamping Property with no boundaries. Finally an accommodation that enjoys traveling the world as much as you do. Wander Camp Grand Canyon is a rustic glamping accommodation, located in Dark Sky country, approximately 30 minutes from the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. Please be aware that you may encounter other groups during your visit. Our site features numerous glamping tents, and although it is nestled in a secluded area, you may still encounter other individuals. 4WD is recommended! BE PREPARED to drive on rural, unpaved roads, with the potential for both pot holes and large dips along the way. Parking is available as close to tents as possible, typically a short walk of 25-50 feet. Each of our large, waterproof canvas bell tents - 216 sq. feet, 16 feet in diameter and height - include low profile windows and a large netted door with double zippers for privacy. Inside you'll see they come furnished with not only the necessary camping furniture, but luxury beds with high thread count sheets, plush down comforters, pillows and blankets. A soft rug, side tables and leather wingback chairs give it that touch of home. We do operate completely off-grid which means no electricity is provided at camp. We provide solar lanterns in each tent for lighting, as well as solar lighted pathways throughout camp; however, you'll definitely want to make sure you take time to enjoy the darkness for star gazing outside of our tent.

Geo Dome Campsite, I-17 Access

8 sites · RVs2 acres · Phoenix, AZ
Currently looking for long term winter RV and Vanlife guests to round out our tight little community! No tents. Come visit and see what makes every one who has stayed here fall in love with this amazing little slice of heaven in the desert. My description: This is a convenient spot in the city of Phoenix, but it feels like you are camping in the country. Closest neighbors are 150 feet away. I've got 2.3 acres, 5 minutes to Walmart, movie theater, 100's of dining choices in Norterra shopping complex. You'll be behind tall fence/block wall on a full acre to spread out on. (Bring an extension cord for prime spots if applicable) There is some light highway and minimal residential noise if that matters to you. You will hear birds nesting in our cacti, see tons or dove, finches, numerous species of hummingbirds or even hear some coyotes yipping at nighttime. We are about a 4 minute drive from a nice hiking area. 3 30 amp and 2 50 amp power added September 2022. Full time campsite manager on site now. Laundry has free large capacity machines. Water pressure and quality is great. The campfire has tree shade with table and chairs. Extension cord power (when available). Water hose for water. Septic system with tap at campsite. Quiet generators are fine for summer A/C. If you need 30 or 50 amp power you'll have to park closer to the domes or have an extension. Electric hookups...contact for availability. There is an acre to choose your perfect spot, but power and water might not be exactly where you want it. Please be respectful of the property and all of our neighbors as we are surrounded by residential housing. Please drive slow inside the property and keep the gate closed when not in use as there are coyotes in the area. Please do let us know ahead of time if you are afraid of dogs or have allergies. My manager has a small pup and there are others here depending who is staying. I have perfect drinkable amazing deep-well zero particulate well water. Inside my extra geo dome I have a shower, sink, and toilet. While 40 years old and ugly, they are functional. You are welcome to camp or relax inside the 40 foot dome, BUT THERE ARE NO BEDS OR BEDDING. This Hipcamp listing is for camp and RV sites only, not a bed in a geo dome. Please message with arrival time so we can meet you at the gate.
