Bridgeview Harbour Marina is a family owned and operated full service marina on the Adirondack shore of Lake Champlain Established in 2020 the Marina provides seasonal and overnight slips and moorings to boaters, fisherman, and lake-goers in addition to camping and an on-site cafe. Marina services are available May thru October each year, with other events and services available throughout the year. The marina is set on 33 acres along Lake Champlain and hosts ~4150 feet of lake-frontage. Prior to becoming a marina in 1989, the property was home to a very large Iron Foundry, rail yard, and barge-loading operation known as Cedar Point. Cedar point, part of the larger Witherbee-Sherman Mining Company, operated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries smelting iron ore to be shipped throughout the world via the Lake Champlain Canal and Hudson River, and is credited with providing iron to some of America's leading projects at the time. Some remains of the sites industrious past can be observed throughout the property. In the other direction, we are a 15 minute drive to Bolton Valley ski area or a 40 minute drive to Sugarbush/Mad River Glen or to Stowe. We are pet friendly about a ten to 15 minute walk to your car and all that is left is you and nature. We are right in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains on the way towards Whiteface Mountain with spectacular views. Campsite numbers available this year will be Site2 which is left, we are planning to OPEN second site which will be on the right side, Site1, when it is finished. In the middle of Summer, you can ask about it. Only 1 site is open, Site2, on the entire land at this time. This year we have changed a few things and we have added some changes hoping to improve every year and we hope you have a wonderful time here on our beautiful land that we are very blessed to share and enjoy, with you our Hipcamp, friends! We have it as a 10 to 15 minute Walk in depending on where you park, for vehicles with no 4x4. We are requiring 4x4 and some clearance to be able to drive up to the site. Wood is FREE off the land, we suggest bringing wood for the first camp fire especially if it has been raining. You can look for firewood on our land and we have it available where we Meet and Greet. Arnolds grocery, is small mom and pop store with 375 different kinds of beer, wood, and local art. Maplefields grocery store and Stewart's stores also has gas, grocery, wood, and both have restrooms. And Just to be extra safe when we meet and greet to show a group down to the river we will be staying at least 6 feet apart and not shaking hands be smart, be safe. We want you to be able to experience nature to it's fullest.

Islands Base Camp

Conserved by the South Hero Land Trust, the historic Sawyer Bay Farm on the Island of South Hero was converted to grazing beef cattle. Our farm name is Health Hero Farm. We practice intensive planned grazing, moving the cattle daily to fresh grass. The herd may be near the campsites or completely out of sight, somewhere on our 180 acres. While we were building a house, we camped in the equipment shed during the summer and grew to value its convenience. Joan's enjoyment of cycling inspired her to designate the farm stand as a "bike stop" where visitors could buy a snack, get water, fix their bikes and use the unique islands amenity of a composing toilet in a converted ice fishing shack. South Hero is an agricultural island, as well as a summer tourist destination with numerous outdoor activities. It is also only a half-hour away from Burlington, and the drive is pleasurable. Pitch your tent, stow your gear under cover and explore all the islands have to offer. Yes, this is a summer destination, with great cycling, boating and swimming. We are a grass-fed beef operation, Health Hero Farm, on the island of South Hero. (You can read more about us on our farm website. ) Our farm is on the bike route around the islands, with access to many other vacation activities. Pitch your tent in the farmstead or in half of our empty equipment shed 30' x 60'. Or tool on down the farm road and be alone with the cattle and grass. In the shed, which is open on the north side, you have shelter from the rain, sun and wind. We have two campsites that can share a microwave, hot plate, refrigerator, camp sink and coffee maker in the barn. Lots of storage under roof for bikes and luggage. Our composting toilet (from Natures Head Composting Toilet) is a unique amenity -- installed in a retired ice-fishing shack (on skis). During the busy summer months, we may have a port-o-let (a.k.a. port-a-potty) with professional service. In the winter, the equipment shed is not available. We rent out vehicle and boat storage in the equipment shed and cannot accommodate camping there. However, we have ample parking for RVs at any time of the year. And if you are an experienced snow camper, we have several locations to choose from. We have a farm stand where you can buy a few snacks. If you want to try our beef, we'll be happy to show you our freezers. We are 2 miles from a convenience store that packs an amazing array of products into a small space. We are close to a gem of a public beach, a winery (Snow Farm Vineyard), apple orchards, a public school playground, and miles of scenic driving. Local farmers markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays offer some of the best produce from these agricultural islands. We also own 1000' frontage on Lake Champlain, which you may enjoy. It is difficult to access, but affords privacy and serenity. We allow campfires on the gravel areas of the farm and on the beach, where you can gather dead wood. If you want to host a large group, you will need to reserve both campsites and rent a port-o-let (Vermont's lingo for porta-potty) if we don't already have one. Additional fees might apply. There is no RV electrical hookup; however, the equipment shed has electric outlets for your use. Additional fees apply for energy intensive appliances, such as heaters or air conditioners. There is no water hookup; however, we can fill your tanks with a hose from a potable water supply. Generators are not allowed, unless you are sufficiently distanced from other campers and our neighbors. Other accommodations may be available. Just ask! We have many resources, and want you to have a great visit.

Old farming equipment dispersed throughout the property. An old foundation from a sugaring house. Beautiful old rock walls. Deer and wildlife galore. Pitch your tent or bring your camper to our 150-acre working farm oasis. Beautiful views of the Adirondack Mountains. Easy drive to great hiking spots. Easy access in Essex for the ferry to Vermont. Lake Placid, high peaks 30 minutes. Or just relax at your campsite with a fire. There is a water spigot to the left of the big brown metal building with easy access with the driveway in front of the building. Our Eclipse Camping sites are situated in the charming West Charlotte Village in beautiful Vermont. We're privileged to be in the path of Totality for April 8th and are excited to open our campsites for this special event. Spanning 5 acres within the West Charlotte Village, our property offers RV electrical hookups on flat land. However, please note that we have no other services available. Adjacent to the property, you'll find the Charlotte Village Loop Trail, and a general store is conveniently within walking distance. Please be aware that there are no bathroom facilities on the property. Nevertheless, our location provides an ideal setting for viewing the solar eclipse on April 8th. We're also just 1 mile away from the Charlotte Town Beach, Lake Champlain, and the Charlotte/Essex NY Ferry. The views to the south and west are clear, while to the north of the campsites, you'll find our workshop and storage area, as depicted in the photos. Our house is also situated on the property. Please be aware that these RV sites are not private. While we cannot guarantee a sunny day for the eclipse, we also cannot guarantee that it will not snow, as it is currently mud season in Vermont. While our fields are presently dry, mud is a very real possibility. We strongly recommend checking the forecast before you arrive. TENT CAMPING IS NOT FEASIBLE AT THIS TIME.

Eclipse weeked is almost here! A total Solar Eclipse will be taking place on the afternoon of Monday, April 8. Camel’s Hump Road will be open only to local traffic from Sunday, April 7 at 9 am to Monday, April 8 at 4 pm. Hiking TRAILS are CLOSED for mud season! HOWL overnight guests qualify as local traffic, so if you have booked a room or a campsite, you are allowed to drive on Camel's Hump Road. Men are not allowed at HOWL (with the exception of trans men). Thanks! In April, we'll still be in winter camping mode. It will be early spring in Vermont, and a variety of weather is possible. We're likely to have snow, rain, and/or mud. It's also likely to be windy, and if that’s the case, it will feel colder than it is. Please plan accordingly, and know that the eclipse might not be visible (but it will get really dark in the middle of the afternoon!) . Bring warm clothes, layers, a raincoat or snow shell, and sturdy shoes/boots. Eclipse viewing glasses will be available free of charge at the check-in station. Recently, Vermont has experienced catastrophic flooding and wind storms, leaving many trees unstable and broken tree limbs stuck in the canopy overhead. All visitors to HOWL understand that activity is at their own risk and take responsibility for checking overhead canopy for unstable trees before walking underneath. Hammock campers especially need to be careful. -- Eclipse Update! -- Hello and greetings from HOWL! We are now fully booked for Sunday night. For those who have signed up for a campsite, we’re looking forward to hosting you during the long weekend of the eclipse. Traffic is going to be quite heavy in Vermont, especially on Monday. If you’re arriving on Monday, feel free to get here anytime from 9 AM on. Just give us a heads-up. This VTDigger article focuses on the traffic: https://vtdigger.org/2024/03/24/2024-eclipse-expected-to-bring-traffic-jams-to-vermont/ Traffic is expected to be worst on Monday afternoon and evening, but it will probably still be pretty heavy in the morning, and possibly all weekend. Not to be discouraging; we don’t really know. If you are traveling this week, know that we are getting rain and SNOW, Wednesday through Friday. National Weather Service forecast: https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=44.47588&lon=-73.21207 Road crews are awesome in Vermont, and I'm sure they will be keeping the roads clear as best possible. Driving conditions could be hazardous at times, especially if we get a "wintry mix". Some roads may be shut down for part of Monday. Please respect road closures and detours." Use your judgment and drive safely! I’m sorry to say that there may be snow on the ground when you arrive. On the other hand, it could be melted (due to rain and warmer temperatures). Between the traffic and the snow, the forecast seems a bit daunting. We are located in the High Peaks of the Adirondacks between Lake Champlain and Lake Placid. The area is legendary for a multitude of hiking trails, mountain biking, and lakes/rivers for paddling. There are amazing natural environments such as Ausable Chasm and it's also an area rich in American historical sites. We are centrally located making area events and popular destinations an easy drive. We are also close to Rt 87 for ease of access yet far enough away to enjoy plenty of quiet and space in nature. The 2 RV site areas are very large with ample space for large RV turnaround and parking for vehicle. We are 300 feet off a road and are surrounded by small hamlets and villages within the park. There is so much to do in this vacation wonderland. Enjoy local breweries and vineyards during your visit. In addition, most every drive is a scenic drive and traffic is almost nonexistent except in some areas during high tourism. You will love it here! We do! The Adirondack Park (ADK) consists of old growth forests that cover more than 100,000 acres of public land in the Park and we live in the park. The Adirondacks also includes the headwaters of five major drainage basins. Lake Champlain and the Hudson, Black, St. Lawrence and Mohawk Rivers all draw water from the Adirondack Park. Adirondack forests and wetlands filter and provide clean water for many communities in NY.

Fieldstone Farm is a family-owned 178 acre property with rolling meadows, vegetable and flower gardens, diverse forest land, miles of woodland roads, and meandering streams. The campsite is east facing. You can enjoy the morning sunshine on the deck while listening to the loons on nearby Lake Iroquois. You can stroll through the meadow paths, venture on a woodland hike, walk, run, or bike on/off the property. The site also boasts a wide open green space if you are interested in lawn games or inviting friends to join you. The 14X16 wall tent comfortably sleeps 4 with a double bed, twin daybed, and twin pull-out mattress. Please bring your own bedding and pillows. Kitchen supplies are provided for cooking, dining and cleaning. Gas grill with side burner and fire pit are provided for cooking. This area is so diverse in its offering. Lake Iroquois is 200 yards from the site with access to the beach and boat launch one mile down the road. Lake Champlain is 15 miles to the west from us with varied access to swimming, boating, and water sports. Bikers can enjoy dirt road rides, flow trails, single track, and endless paved roads in Hinesburg and near-by towns. Hikers can hit the hills nearby or further away. Camels Hump State Park and access to the Long Trail is just 15 miles away. Need a city fix? Burlington is also 15 miles away and offers shopping, dining, a lively waterfront, music, the arts and more. Don't want to go far away? Hinesburg village offers 6 restaurants, a brewery, music on the green, and a well stocked grocery store. We are excited to share this beautiful property with visitors. Dan found this special place back in 1996. We didn’t move on site until 1999 and still haven’t build our dream home. The years were full of raising our four daughters on this beautiful property. The girls had horses, enjoyed snowmobiles, four wheeling, ice skating, kayaking, sliding parties, camping, picking wild berries and playing in the woods. We had a Christmas tree farm and enjoyed sharing the property and horses with our customers. We now enjoy all this with our two grandsons. It seems only right to share what we have been so blessed to enjoy all these years with others. Learn more about this land: Park your RV or pitch your tent and take some time to relax. Take a walk through the woods, take your kayak out on Otter Creek starting at the base of our driveway or relax with a campfire. Visit Blazer or ring the humongous bell, and check out the wildlife.
