Close proximity (driving) to the river for a spot of fishing, the bay for an early morning walk or explore with the kids and the local tavern for some adult time. A walk up Wallace road on an evening is quite nice if you are looking to stretch your legs. Glass house mountains are a 20-25min drive for some great hikes and if you make it to the top some worthy photos. Brisbane is 45min drive with no traffic. Bribie island is a 22min drive with lots of great cafes and flat walks available. IMPORTANT: The Ranch is on the corner of beachmere and Wallace road. Access is off Wallace road. After you turn onto Wallace road it’s the first right at the yellow letterbox. Pull through and down to the left. Through the gate next to the container out into the back paddock. Please keep this gate shut. There is a designated area for Hip-Camp straight and to the right near the fire pit and bucket. If you have animals please clean up after them and dogs are to be on lead if they do not recall or like to chase wildlife. As we have wonderful bird life along with lizards and chickens on the property. The fire pit has bricks around it. You can help yourself to any kindling but it’s BYO firewood. Please do not chop logs or collect logs from the property.

Great spot, close to everything (Beachmere is a lovely area with cafes and shops and a terrific tidal beach which is fun for dogs!) Also cl9se to Bribie, but Scott's land felt nicely far enough away and quiet. Having a shower and a Loo is a real plus for us. And a campfire which sets the scene! Only 40 odd minutes from home meant we were able to get into 'away for the weekend' vibes quickly!! Would recommend Scott's place!

Lovely site right on the creek (although not much water in the creek when we were there following a dry spell, but enough to have a cool off on a hot day). Nice large grassy flat site with lovely view over creek and hills (also fun watching the cows in neighbouring property!). Had a lovely relaxing stay. Will also bring the bikes next time, with a 15 min drive to the cycle trail.

My client and I enjoyed the quietness of the stay, but disappointed on the lack of animals that your post said. My client had a bad night Thursday night and I silly get the three dogs out on the morning and got greeted by a lady telling at me , that the dogs business was their and their. I took it on the chin but it would gave need nicer if she marked the places and asked nicely to pick up their business like I had and was doing. But my client and I loved the quietness greatly.

Ideal spot for a ´shakedown’ of our new 20’ caravan. Easy access & plenty of room to manoeuvre the van. Lovely setting right beside the creek, nice & level & beautifully kept grass areas. 2 fire pits ready to go & fire wood available for purchase from Georgie (but bring your own kindling & fire lighters). Enjoy the sights & sounds of cows, kookaburras, cockatoos, magpies & various other locals! Georgie only books the campsite for 1 group at a time, so we had the place to ourselves & just loved the solitude. We stayed for 4 nights & spent our days reading, biking (electric mountain bikes) & walking. Even took our small dog in a basket on the bike down to the local cafe for a coffee - it’s only 5kms each way. All in all, highly recommended.

I really enjoyed my solo camping at Site 3! It’s a nice private spot with good distance from the next site. The ground is well kept and pretty flat, so setting up a tent was easy. Hardly any cow poo around since the cows are fenced off. Access is easy too — though I’d recommend a 4WD. Only downside is it’s quite open, so it can get windy with nowhere to hide. Overall, I loved it and would definitely give it 5 stars!

I stayed at site 3 which is up on a hill and felt very safe and secluded. Beautiful grassy area with lots of trees about, not a building in sight. Heaps of firewood around if you wanted a fire and a fire pit is provided. The track to the site 2 and 3 is a bit steep in one section, access was fairly easy but wouldn’t drive a Corolla to these sites, site 1 has super easy access. Thank you host for providing such a peaceful place to stay and at such a reasonable price

Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses, goats and some friendly donkeys who love to meet new people for some pats and a carrot! We offer a choice of sites- either Lower Sites close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property or Elevated Sites with views of the valley. LOWER SITES have access to facilities- toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Most sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. These are the only sites that caravans can access. ELEVATED SITES have stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by capable 4WD and require you to bring your own sealed, chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites. When submitting a booking request, select either a Lower Site or Elevated Site. Please include your vehicle make and model, camping setup (tent/swag/camper trailer), type of toilet and ensuite tent (if requesting an elevated site) and number of occupants (adults, children, dogs). Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers. Please note, the availability of certain sites is weather dependant. We are not a 4WD adventure park. Vehicles must be left at your campsite and NOT used to explore the property. Exploration of the property is welcome by foot or bicycle: 1.2 km from bottom to top. Glass house mountains are a 20-25min drive for some great hikes and if you make it to the top some worthy photos. Brisbane is 45min drive with no traffic. Bribie island is a 22min drive with lots of great cafes and flat walks available. IMPORTANT: The Ranch is on the corner of beachmere and Wallace road. Access is off Wallace road. After you turn onto Wallace road it’s the first right at the yellow letterbox. Pull through and down to the left. Through the gate next to the container out into the back paddock. Please keep this gate shut. There is a designated area for Hip-Camp straight and to the right near the fire pit and bucket. If you have animals please clean up after them and dogs are to be on lead if they do not recall or like to chase wildlife. As we have wonderful bird life along with lizards and chickens on the property. The fire pit has bricks around it. You can help yourself to any kindling but it’s BYO firewood. Option 2: From the Centenary Freeway roundabout, at ripley head 21 km along Ripley Road, which continues and changes name to Undullah Road. You are welcome to roam our entire property - we just suggest wearing enclosed shoes. We have some very friendly farm animals - Olly the goat. Barb, Shaun, Dodge, Daisy, Duke, Georgie, Gracie and babies Leslie & Bo who all love carrots and apples. This is a full working farm and we restore vintage caravans and classic cars. The camp grounds has an easy access and campers have had no issues levelling out on the gentle slope or go higher up the paddock to the trees and the ground is level with the best views of the mountain ranges. Olive View Farm is ideal for self sufficient campers. At the front of the property near the bus shop we have permanent picnic tables set up for anyone to use. Dogs on a lead are welcome - we have lots of Kangaroos and Wallabies and we want to protect them.
