* No parking within 20 metres of the water.
* Vehicles must stay on the designated road and cannot drive down to the boat ramp.
* After launching, vehicles and trailers must be parked back up the hill within the Pointro boundary.
* Marquees and similar structures must be at least 6 metres from the water’s edge.
* Boats may be moored during the day but must be removed overnight.
Breaches may result in fines from SEQ Water, which will be passed on to the responsible party.

Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses and goats. We have goat food for purchase on site. 🐐
The Stonesthrow Bush Camping lower sites are close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property. These sites have access to facilities - toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Most of these sites are suitable for 2WDs and some sites are accessible to caravans.
The Stonesthrow Elevated sites are located higher up, with stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by 4WD and require you to BYO sealed, chemical camping TOILET and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites however NO caravans.
🐾 Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers.

Doctor T was welcoming before we even left home, introducing himself and kindly giving us directions. Where we camped was the most tranquil setting next to a beautiful running creek. The bathroom block was great with amazing showers and plenty of hot water. The property provided lots of space with some nice little walks. Despite a bit of rain it was the most lovely stay and can highly recommend it.

An absolutely magical place.
We camped right next to a beautiful river where you can swim peacefully. The whole area is very well maintained, with clean grass and wide open spaces that make you want to stay longer. The bathrooms are super comfortable and have hot water, which we really appreciated. I went with my wife, who is pregnant, and we both left completely delighted — honestly, we didn’t want to leave.
The walking tracks are fantastic, especially one with an incredible viewpoint. The internet works surprisingly well too; we were even able to watch movies during our stay. Dr. T was very kind and welcomed us personally when we arrived, which made the experience even better.
We would recommend this place 100%. Just one important note: it is a sacred space for them, so alcohol and meat are not allowed. It’s clearly stated in the description, but we hadn’t read it. Still, it wasn’t an issue at all — in fact, it felt like a great opportunity to “detox” from alcohol and meat. And if you want to eat out, there are fish & chips, pizza, restaurants and more just 9 minutes away. There’s also an amazing beach about 20 minutes from the campsite.
We would definitely come back.

Amazing location and brilliant hosts ! Very accommodating, we had some issues with our motorhome and they were incredibly attentive in helping us sort everything out ! Thank you so much guys - would recommend to anyone looking to stay at Tambourine Mountain

We were only planning on staying a couple of nights but due to circumstances beyond our control ended up being here five nights. The location is fabulous, close to so many shops, there are choices of pools, the amenities are very well maintained. It’s quiet considering the volume of patrons. We stayed in a motor home site then a cabin. We swam, we used the BBQ’s, we ate in the bistro, used the laundry all of which were great but the outstanding thing for us was the staff- particularly reception. They accommodated our tricky situation with ease and we appreciated it immensely. Thank you very much.

Beautiful view in amongst the trees.
Nice toilet/change room for camping guests.
Basic grassed area for camping on, power if needed.
Nice spa area however extra fees to utilise.
Could consider allowing guests a complimentary spa/sauna as part of the price (could increase slightly), as just for the campsite it’s a bit pricier currently.

For us, there was a natural beauty, a peaceful tranquility and a hospitable hostess. We enjoyed being able to soak in the sunrise colours over the valley then the changing scenery of each sunset. We also enjoyed listening to the birds and watching the parrots develop their nest.
Yes, it is by a road, however, we live near a highway, so the “bits of traffic” was not an issue for us.
Yes, we would recommend this spot as you are the only campers, and ( though the property can host others) we still had our space, views and privacy.

We got unlucky with the weather, sadly no view. There had been so much rain so the entry and exit was tricky and the grass long and wet.
Yes you are close to the road but you are staying in a suburb, not the bush so there is going to be noises.
The hosts are lovely and helpful. I can see how it would be amazing on a clear day.
Unlucky with the sauna not working on the day either but spa in the rain was still good.

We stayed one night at the property in our camper van.
Camp spot is flat and nicely positioned under a tree. There is access to power if needed and the bathroom is up at the house. Amazing view of the valley and we made use of the spa which was a perfect end to our day.

Really good location with an amazing view day/night.
We went to camping and the sunset was stunning and at night there was plenty of stars in the sky.
We didn’t use the spa package and we had a look into the facilities and we don’t think is worth it if you’re going just to spend a day there camping.

Truly a great camp site and we will want to come back again and again.
The owner Emi's thoughtfulness is also wonderful.
The time spent listening to the birds chirping and following the clouds is a luxury.
Sauna, spa, and rock pool to relieve fatigue. You can also get in at sunset time.
The hojicha latte made by the barista was also very delicious.
