Beautiful place next to the river. It is great it has a fire pit, we spend a wonderful evening around the fire. And in the morning, the kangaroos came very close! I recommend it!

Great location with easy access to the river and the Yamba district. Nice sites with enough distance in between but make sure you check where the tide comes up to on sites 3 & 4. On a 1.8m tide our site 4 was surrounded by low water but site 3 would have been very wet in parts. Don't let that put you off, its a great spot but check with the owners where the water goes on higher tides. Site 1 & 2 have no issues at all.

1 night at The Sleepy Hollow Manor Estate

We loved our stay! We didn’t end up being able to stay near platypus ck but the spot we got at a different part of the creek was even better. Went to bed to the sound of the creek and Woke up surrounded by cows! Perfect experience Toilets are standard Portaloos, but clean enough no issues. Special Shoutout to the caretaker Kyle who, when our camper got stuck in a muddy spot, was helpful knowledgeable and calm, and pulled us right out. Such a great person to have on hand at such a huge property!

1 night at Oakey Ridge

Absolutely lovely and secluded spot, close enough to town but far away from the hustle and bustle. Views of rolling hills all around and plenty of life. Will definitely be staying again.

2 nights at Zaytuna Eco Hamlet

It was a lovely spot to set up the tent surrounded by lush shady bamboo forests. There had been quite a lot of rain the day before but the site was not boggy. The farm dogs and cat are very friendly and all came to say hello at different times across the couple of days. The permaculture tour with Sam was really worthwhile doing to get to see more of the property and getting to ask questions about permaculture. Toilets and showers are fine, the kitchen has a gas cooktop, fridge and freezer which were handy. A few mosquitos, but not as bad as some caravan parks we had stayed at up the coast. Lots of birds and frogs around.

Eltham Station Campground is a quiet campground on the Wilson River near the hip village of Eltham, just down the road from Bangalow, a few k's from Clunes and 35kms from Byron Bay. The camp sites are private and have easy access for 2WD vehicles or 4WD. Eltham Station has 7 all weather campsites along a private lagoon. The sites have gravel pads and grass to set up on, plus campfire spots laid out (firewood available) a clearly marked road in and are also surrounded by large trees to provide plenty of shade. There are plenty of birds, frogs, water dragons, platypus (if you are quiet), wallabies and other wildlife around the property and it is a beautiful and peaceful location to set up camp for caravans, motorhomes, swags, tents or vans. Exclusive use of the whole campground for a large group is available on request. We are only 2kms from the village of Eltham and the famous Eltham Pub which is a historic building that often has live music and is a great spot for a meal. It often books out so during busy periods we recommend you book ahead on www.elthampub.com.au Also we are only a 20 minute drive to the beach (recommend Shelly Beach at Ballina with a great cafe called Shelly Beach cafe for breaky or lunch) and are close to the many other beautiful attractions that this area is known for. Children under 6 stay free but hosts must be notified of the total number of people in your group. Each site holds a maximum of 6 guests in total. Campfires are permitted in the rings provided and please ensure you set up in the spot allocated to you especially in busy times. All campers must abide by any fire or other government restrictions. Well behaved pets are welcome but please be aware this campsite is on a working farm with cattle, potty calves, horses, a few of our own dogs. Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet has recently become a community of 8 private residences that share this beautiful property. We kindly ask that campers respect the residents’ privacy, however if you spot them on the common grounds, they are always up for a friendly chat. CAMPSITE The campsite is situated on the communal grounds at the heart of Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet on flat lawn surrounded by bamboo and the sounds of the rainforest. We also have 10 raised camping shelters on offer, suitable for small tents for 1-2 people. Campers have close access to bathrooms built from eco-friendly shipping containers with composting toilets and warm showers; a fire pit, a kitchen garden to share from, an education/function center (available for hire), a common sheltered area to relax with wifi, and an equipped shared kitchen. OTHER NOTES We strictly have a no drug and alcohol policy. Due to our policy and customs, we kindly ask that no pork products enter the property, and that reasonably modest clothing is worn (shoulders down to knees covered is fine) including around the swimming hole. The property is most suited to 4WD, high clearance vehicles, and off-road campers. Caravans and motorhomes will find it difficult to reach most areas to camp. Children under 12 stay free! Please still add children to the booking (you will not be charged) so we can keep on top of guest numbers. You're welcome to bring your furry four-legged friends along to camp too, but please ensure they do not hassle the livestock or travel across the creek, we have neighbouring properties all around us. Please feel free to swim in the creek wherever you please and you are most welcome to walk up the creek to adventure. There are some beautiful secluded spots and swimming holes, but please do not cross the creek, our neighbours like their privacy. If you arrive to extreme weather conditions please contact us before entering the property as we may have to recommend some safe spots for camping or arrange you to stay on The Vale camping site.

Thankyou for considering Dungarubba Fields. We offer you a well located and secure camp-site to explore the North Coast or for that overnight stay while you are travelling to your destination and need a safe place to camp. Our four campsites are spacious and are freshly mown flat grassed sites. Each campsite has 1 or 2 stone circles for campfires, with free kindling and free firewood supplied to all campsites. Whether you are a single traveller, a couple, family or group booking we have the campsite for you. We are family friendly and dog friendly. Dungarubba Fields is a private, rural setting on six acres on Bundjalung country. Four of our camp sites are situated across a small bridge in the back paddock, and one camp site is situated just before the bridge for those self driving campervans with a wider wheel-base. The paddock was once cleared and in recent years we have planted and cared for over 100 new Koala and rainforest trees. After the Northern Rivers floods of 2022 we are now continuing the bush regeneration beside the Dungarubba wetland which borders our property. Our camp-sites offer shade, space, wildlife and birdlife. Campfires are allowed 12 months a year depending on fire ratings and local conditions except on days of Total Fire Ban and the preceding evening going into a Total Fire Ban. We supply the free firewood to each campsite as we understand how important the campfire is to the camping experience. Outside the fire season we can supply a readymade Bonfire at an additional cost to your booking. Hipcampers can access fresh drinking water (rainwater) from our rainwater tanks, with an accessible tap near our home. Hipcampers have access to a downstairs flushing toilet at the house. We offer a Portaloo for larger group bookings situated beside your camp site as an optional extra for an additional cost. The Portaloo needs to be booked when you make your booking. The house on the property was originally built in 1903 as the Catholic Church of the nearby locality Riley's Hill. In the 1940’s it was moved to the current site after low attendance by parishioners who didn’t want to have to row across the Richmond River and get their feet wet to attend Mass. The church sold the building in the 1980’s and it was raised off the ground with two new wings attached on either side to become a private residence. The sugar cane and soybeans, however more surrounding land is being planted to Macadamia nuts which will change the look of the landscape in future. During May to November of an evening, you can look out for the occasional cane fire which is a historic part of the harvesting of sugar. The Richmond River and boat ramp is a short 2 minutes drive for both fishing and water skiing. The Broadwater National Park with sand-dunes and a fishing beach is only a 10 minute drive away. The Pacific Highway is 7 minutes drive away. The beautiful coastal village of Evans Head with shops, a medical clinic and a patrolled beach is just a 15 minutes drive. The nearest townships are Broadwater (2 fuel stations and a pub under new management), Coraki (junction of 2 rivers), Woodburn (pub with a bistro and a laundrette) and Evans Head (a township with most services). We are a 45 minutes drive to Byron Bay and 25 minutes to the coastal city of Ballina up the Pacific Highway or 25 minutes drive inland to the city of Lismore. We welcome friendly dogs and there is plenty of space for them to run around and chase balls or other dogs. Our dog Stella is a 4 year old Blue Heeler, who greets people from the balcony barking as you drive in. Don’t let the barking fool you as she loves visitors and their dogs. We expect owners to be responsible for their dogs and in particularly when there are Koalas close by. We ask dogs not to roam at night as Koalas are nocturnal (and so are other critters) and night-time is when they choose their food tree for the next day and roam around. National Parks & Forest Trails • Nightcap National Park – While primarily a hiking destination, some sections feature fire trails suitable for off-road cycling, with stunning scenery and creek crossings. • Border Ranges National Park – Remote fire trails with breathtaking views, winding through ancient rainforests and open escarpments. • Whian Whian State Conservation Area – A mix of gravel tracks and forestry trails through eucalypt and subtropical rainforest. Dedicated Mountain Bike Parks & Competition Tracks • Uki Mountain Bike Park – A well-kept secret in Northern NSW, this park features well-maintained XC and gravity trails, jumps, berms, and technical descents. Coastal Rides & Easy Scenic Tracks • Byron Bay to Suffolk Park Cycleway – A smooth, scenic ride perfect for families or those looking for a relaxed ride along the coast. • Brunswick Heads to Mullumbimby – A mix of quiet back roads and scenic routes through cane fields and river flats. • Ballina Coastline Cycleway – A stunning coastal ride with ocean views, boardwalk sections, and beachside cafes along the way.
