This camping spot is amazing!
The camp site is close to the road, but not visible from the road and has minimal noise from traffic. The track down is steepish, we have 17ft & 18.5ft full size off road caravans, towed with a 4WD in 4low we had no problem getting in or out. There is a very large level area perfect for caravans. This private one site gem is right next to the river, it offers all our favourite activities, swimming, fishing & kayaking, there are some shallow spots but was still great fun, our grandson loved the rapids. There is plenty of room for kids to ride their bikes.
We loved the large established fire pit.
The host Luke touched base before our visit and gave me a run down on everything we needed to know, which was great. The property is well maintained, hats off to you Luke.
Those who are with Optus may want to invest in a Starlink as there is no service.
We would rate this Site No1, it is definitely on our list of places to revisit, loved it!

It is a generous open grassy space which suits all types of camping with shady options. The river is a great option to cool off in. We loved having the location to ourselves. Luke the host provided all the info we needed and was very responsive to any of our questions.

Great spot, very private with lots of space to camp. Luke has done an awesome job maintaining this spot. Plenty of birds, turtles, and plenty of fish in the river.

We had a great long weekend at River Rats and will definitely be back. The camping area is tucked away, beside the creek. Luke is a friendly and helpful host who keeps the site well maintained.

Great place for camping with fam and friends, just 1 hour from Gold Coast. The camp area is right next to the road but still private. The place is well-maintained and perfect for anyone looking for a quick escape from city life. Highly recommended

My family and I stayed at This amazing property expecting just the usual. But got way much more. We and the pups loved the river and all the hidden spots that it provided along with the privacy the block provided. We had a great time and have already booked again.
Luke works hard on the block and it tells. Also he even insisted mowing once we arrived to ensure the grass was smicko 😊
Negatives would only be no internet in area ( not Luke’s fault, good old Optus ) and access would be difficult after rain. But with a bit of common sense, you could work to the terrain.
Thanks again Luke and can’t wait to be back.

This place was so amazing! Having the whole area to ourselves was great, it was so peaceful. Luke was lovely and came to check on us and bring firewood if we needed it. Will be coming back!

Perfect little spot for a getaway with a small group. Such a peaceful oasis for all to unwind and relax. It was great having the whole site to ourselves.
Beautifully maintained camping area with swimming holes to take a cold plunge.
Luke was an amazing host and easy to get in contact with if needed.

Property was stunning and camping by the creek was so relaxing, such a beautiful private spot, we enjoyed our couple night stay even tho the weather turned quite wet and windy. Luke was a great host. We will definitely be back hopefully in dry conditions.

Such a peaceful and memorable stay. The campsite is beautifully secluded and perfect for unwinding in nature. We loved relaxing by the fire pit, whilst listening to the river and surrounding wildlife. Everything felt calm, private, and thoughtfully cared for. Can’t wait to return!

Such a beautiful property Luke and his family have, it is such a credit to him.
To have such an incredible private space like this all to ourselves is such a treat, I don’t think I’ve camped anywhere better.
The creek is gorgeous and the stars are incredible out there on a nice clear night sitting next to the fire.
Highly recommend, Luke was extremely helpful also even supplied tubes for us to go down the river rapids.
Thank you so much for letting my family and I stay there and create such awesome memories.
Hope to be back in the near future !!

Huge flat grass area, great for large groups and spreading out camp with a large fire pit.
Beautiful flowing creek about 30m from camp good spot for a dip. We came after a-lot of rain and it was pumping, literally.
Great host with prompt messaging for any questions, and clear instructions to get to camp, very easy to find.

Lovely spot and Luke was a great host. Only 15 mins to Beaudesert if you need shops. Kids rode donuts down the “rapids”, and the sound from the river was v relaxing at night.

Omg how good is this place so beautiful. You really feel like you are in another world. Such an oasis so peaceful and tranquil the sounds of the birds and the water runing over the rocks. Even though you are right next to the road you are in a very peaceful secluded and private spot. Luke your host responded to messages so quickly was a great host. Well worth every cent you pay for this site. Will definitely be back to this spot for sure

Loved my stay at this very private site, When you book you will have the whole site to yourself so its perfect for a big group or small. Luke the host was great and organsied firewood for me and told alot about the area. You are close to the road but its completely private and a little haven for bird life and the albert river is a joy to explore with deep swimming holes, fish and rushing rapids to float down. Great little fire pit and very well mantained. Highly recommend.

Absolutely a great spot. Nice grass and beautiful river. Host is great and very friendly.
Definitely need a 4x4 and off road caravan to access the spot. Driveway in is a bit tricky and slippery. Could do with cut and gravel to make it level. Will definitely be back

Awesome camp site, large flat green patch, beautiful creek right next to it. Great for swinging and floating. Unfortunately there were a lot of cicadas which were very loud pretty much as long as the sun was up, but that's not anyone's fault.
Luke was very friendly and easy to communicate with. However didn't appreciate someone coming to mow the camp site lawn before 9am when check out was stated 12pm.

We had the best time camping at Riverside Retreat. Had the whole place to ourselves. Luke popped down to check on us, was lovely to meet him. He was so willing to offer any help at anytime needed. Creek was clear and running, grass freshly mowed - couldn't ask for more.
