Welcome to my Hipcamp! Beautiful camping area situated next to the Elliott River. 10 minutes drive to Coonarr Beach, Coonarr Wildflowers and Kinkuna National Park. Amazing Stargazing! Just a kilometer up the road from our site, you'll find a charming Dog Motel. Please keep in mind that the noise from the dog motel isn't a nightly occurrence, making it difficult to predict specific nights when it may be more active. However I've noticed that campers in caravans generally have a more insulated experience and are less affected by any early morning barking. If you prefer a quieter spot, I make it a priority to assign campers the farthest firepit, Camp 4, nestled deep in the bush, providing you with a peaceful retreat away from any noise. Additionally I'm delighted to offer electricity to all camps, ensuring your comfort and convenience during your stay. Whether you choose a campsite closer to the amenities or opt for the tranquility of Camp 4, rest assured that you'll have access to electricity. The yards are separated so that the horses can't reach each other from one yard to the other. Please ensure these areas are cleaned before you leave. There are rakes and wheelbarrows provided near the arena and at the end of the stables for your convenience. We were incredibly fortunate to discover Bucca Country River Retreat after a last-minute cancellation at another venue on the very day we were due to camp. Sarah was wonderfully accommodating and managed to take our booking straight away, turning what could have been a stressful situation into an absolute blessing. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had stumbled upon something special. The retreat offers luscious lawns and spacious, well-kept grounds that immediately set a welcoming tone. The views overlooking the river are simply breathtaking, and with easy access down to the water, it’s perfect for both relaxation and adventure. As the owner of two large dogs, I was thrilled to find that this is a truly pet-friendly campground. Not only were our dogs warmly welcomed, but there’s also an excellent pet-friendly pub just up the road, making it easy to enjoy a meal or drink without leaving our four-legged companions behind. This retreat exceeded our expectations in every way and turned out to be far better than the place we had originally booked. It’s peaceful, beautifully maintained, and offers everything you could want for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended for anyone traveling with dogs or simply looking for a serene riverside escape.

A pleasant overnight stop while making our way south to Brisbane. Our stopover was on a Monday with very few people on site, so plenty of places to choose from for us and our van. A 4WD to access the secluded sites would be recommended as it might be tricky getting out if you had any rain as the trek out is relatively steep, grassy but steep. We camped next to the dam and went to sleep with the sound of frogs chatting which is quite soothing and made for a good night. The camp ground is far enough off the “Bruce Hwy” which made for a quiet night and no street lighting is a bonus as well. Highly recommend this place and we will be back again.

Me and my mate loved staying over at the campsite even though if was only a long weekend. Too short in my opinion hahah. The campsite is well-kept and cleaned, no issues with rocks or twigs getting in the way at the main site. Came with a nice barrel campfire with heaps of fire-wood stashed near the tree. We never used it but aside they have a great little under-cover set-up with a barbecue, working fridge, a couple power-ports for anything you may need, and the amenities block is great. This campsite is great for couple day trips, to even longer stays with having the essentials you'll need. Small families and groups would go perfectly here. Love the star guest that peeps around every so often looking for some attention, Mouse is such a beautiful dog, and very soft/friendly when she pops around. The couple living at the farm are great to talk with, we enjoyed our stay a lot and do plan on making another in the future.

Camped on powered site 11 big sites and close to amenities which were great and always so clean. Cute little bath tub for the kids. Kids they loved walking over to the playground and kitchen. Waterslide was also so much for the kids and adults.. Shelley was awesome and very welcoming took us to feed the animals Saturday morning. We are already planning our trip back.

We loved our stay at Bucca River Retreat! What a perfect place to sit and relax enjoying the surrounds and the river! So peaceful and serene! We enjoyed a swim in the river, perfect temperature to! Toilets and showers are clean and today and presented well! The hosts Sarah and Ron are very welcoming and accommodating to any need required. Fire pits and wood are available to.
