The Wollemi Art Farm is a 100 acre block surround by national park - so your only neighbours are trees and animals. We are only 2 kilometres from the stunning Dunns Swamp. We have several camping areas, which range from intimate to spacious, and can host up to 190 people - if you want to book out the whole place (weddings, parties, small festivals)!
Facilities include toilets, water and shelter.
It's called 'The Wollemi Art Farm' because not only do we do arty things there (like quests and Shakespeare nights), in time we shall fill the place with mysterious and beautiful works of art - constructed from the rocks and wood of the landscape itself.
We have our own trails and views (see below).
As mentioned, we run quest adventures (think: clues, a map, exploring, competing against other teams for glory) - get in touch if you would like to know when the next one is, or if you would like your own private quest. I've included some quest material in the photos (more on our Instagram and Youtube). There is an additonal fee for questing.
Walks:
-Look out for the twin cairns on the north side of the public road, about 100m before you get to the main camping area. Follow the trail to the Summit.
-You can also follow the private road up the hill past the main house (turn right off the public road as if you are going to the Spring campsite, then walk past the 'no tresspassing sign' - you are not tresspassing if you are a guest!). Follow this road for a few hundred metres until you see the rocky outcrop towards your right (the 'Souther Heights'). A sign points the way to a cleft that you can ascend. Two cairns mark this spot. Follow the rocky ridge up for several hundred metres. It's a fine adventure.
Runs. I'm a keen distance runner. I have a range of runs mapped out. These include a 10km loop, longer runs up to 20kms, various reps, and more. The WAF is perfect for your running group getaway.

Then property is set 600 metres back from a quiet rural road, accessed via a gravel driveway. It is nestled at the foot of Mount Knowles, and includes over 300 acres of bushland in addition to approx 30 acres of formal gardens and mown paddocks, one of which has a pretty dam. All areas have expansive rural views.
We offer a basic bush site for self-contained campers and a fully-contained caravan.
At Bushman's Camp we welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. You must have your own amenities. Campsites are accessible for 2WDs and we welcoming camping vehicles. You may need to level your vehicle for a comfortable night’s sleep.
There are a few options for camping. The land is undulating with flat spots, with open grassy areas peppered with gum trees. Other parts are more heavily wooded with gums and natives.
Our caravan comes complete with water, electricity, toilet, 2 double beds, dining area and kitchen. The caravan can sleep 4 guests. Next to the caravan there is room for a further tent, van, trailer or motorhome if desired, for a $35 flat fee. Please add extra guests when booking. Outside the caravan, there is a beautiful sandstone ringed fire pit, BBQ, covered picnic tables, chairs, lighting and some firewood available. You will need to bring your own bed linen and towels.
Campfires are permitted at all our listings when not in fireban season so bring your marshmallows!
There are lovely views of the valleys and mountains beyond, and you’ll really enjoy the sunsets.

If you need supplies Sofala is just 8 km away, drop in and explore the town. Hill End is 28 km which is another Historic town to explore.
Camp Crudine is great for kids and adults alike to have a go at panning for gold or try out the metal detector. All findings must be returned to the host, lol.
Campfires must comply with the local fire restrictions and guideline and must be contained in the fire pits provided. Bonfires are not permitted at any time. We recommend campers bring their own firewood as campers are requested to source only small amounts of firewood along the riverbank. Under no circumstances are trees to be cut down. Firewood is available at the Sofala General Store.
Campers are required to bring everything they need and take all rubbish when leaving.
Dogs are welcome but they must be supervised and under control at all times.
The owner has livestock on the property which must be respected at all times.

Relax and watch the kangaroos and eagles from your private deck. Summer swimming in the crystal clear river and winter camp fires where you can toast marshmallows.
The lower level has a cooktop "no oven or fridge share fridge at entrance of park", outside gas BBQ and tables. You will need to bring your own drinking water.
There is a toilet and shower downstairs.
The top deck has two small single beds and one double, quilts and pillows however BYO linen sheets and towels.

In the early 1970’s Mr James, the owner of 'Biara', subdivided three 25 acre blocks across the road from the original homestead. The first block was sold to his nephew, the middle block was to be purchased by the Preston family and ‘The Gateway’ was purchased by a Mr Carveth.
Unfortunately, the sale of the middle block fell through then, due to family illness, 'Biara' was sold and the family moved to Blackheath. After this move, and as thank you to his son, Mr James transferred the title of the middle of the three subdivided blocks to his only son, William.
Back in the late 1960’s, early 1970’s, the area was vastly different than it is today. Travelling to school entailed a car trip to Hargraves then bus to Mudgee which would have been a 2 hour round trip! The area was far more isolated as there was no power and entailed an overland phone line, which had to be regularly repaired if residents wanted to be able to communicate with the outside world.
The site allows mainly for camping and relaxing although there are numerous dirt roads to explore, Mudgee wineries close by and Burrendong Dam not far away (accessible via Hill End Road near Erudgere). Hargraves is also known for it's alluvial gold deposits and fossickers still go there regularly to check out Louisa Creek.
There is 15km's of dirt road which needs to be traveled to reach the property. Dependent on weather, and if it has been graded recently, this road can be in varying states of repair. In heavy rain it may be difficult to get 2WD access via the public road due to the clay content in the road .
Kangaroo, wallaby, owl species, kookaburra, echidna, snakes, various lizards, including shinglebacks, are often seen on these roads and the property.

There are many camping sites available ranging from group areas, for club set-ups to secluded camp sites located within the bushed areas. A centralised area flushing toilet and a caravan equipped with essentials such as barbecue, tea & coffee making facilities and small fridge is available to all campers but for campers taking advantage of the secluded sites, a portable toilet would be advantageous to bring considering distance from provided site.
Dogs are very welcome as they are very much our fur-kids.

We looked for alternative ways of living 6 years ago so we purchased 220 acres to build an off grid camping/eco resort.
The property consists of a straw bale house, Tipis, Cottages, 5 stars shared facilities (hot showers, flushing toilets - disable toilet ), outdoor kitchen (gas bbq, pizza oven, all kitchen utensils, pots ), solar system and worm farm septic system.
The facilities of the camping are quite luxurious some guests labelling them "better than at home" so you can enjoy the bush experience & still have the comfort of a home.
Here you can discover amazing wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cockatoos, lyre birds and a lot of other birds (designated bird drinking stations through a WIRES program which has a lot of success.)
Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property.
They are designated walking tracks around the property with all variable lengths & difficulties.

There is also bush walking. There is a small common area/ shed available with a bbq for guests to use and a table.
If exploring please do not go through any fences as you may end up on a neighbors property.
Guests may camp as close or far away from the main dam as they like, camp sites are first in first served.
Pets allowed if kept under control, firewood is permitted to be used from the ground only no felling of standing trees, you may have a fire on the ground. NO fires during a total fireban.
Please find your own way to camp by following your map that will be sent to you on booking and the signs that are posted from the driveway on after you turn in the main entrance, no need to meet and greet with host although I may come around occasionally to see if everything is going alright.

The ultimate Farm Solitude Camping experience for nature lovers seeking adventure, peace and serenity.
This is not a place for parties and loud noise, but if you want to get away from it all and relax in a secluded Campsite surrounded by beautiful Native Bushland or explore miles of trails, gullies, caves, Flight Springs Creek and the exquisite Bow River, take some time to camp at Hillside, which is a remote 2000 acre working cattle property situated 23km west of MERRIWA, 17 km off the Golden Highway, adjoining the Goulburn River National Park.
Most sites are in secluded area's far away from each other but at busy times people may pass by some sites to access the river. There are plenty of walking trails and for the enthusiastic bushwalker, the Bow River winds its way 7km down to the Goulburn River through the National Park with its gentle flowing stream and rock pools nestled between sandstone cliffs of caves.
All sites are pet friendly, but pets must be kept on leash and cleaned up after.
Campfires are allowed when there are no restrictions. Cut firewood is available on request $20 lots, cash only.
4WD and High vehicles are recommended as tracks have rocky outcrops and some areas of loose sand. Some sites can be accessed by 2WD. The Bow River area is strictly 4WD (Low Range) access ONLY as it is extremely steep with loose gravel and rocky outcrops. AWD (All wheel drive) vehicles will not get back out. For all 4WD areas please let your Tyres down to 25psi to help conserve our tracks.
Outback 4WD tracks are now open for campers to explore as well as Hidden Valley.
All sites have toilets, but guests will need their own shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure.
Phone Service is very limited in this area. If you email a request, sometimes it may take a few hours for us to reply.
No motorbikes or chainsaws and no hunting allowed.

We have several camping areas, which range from intimate to spacious, and can host up to 190 people - if you want to book out the whole place (weddings, parties, small festivals)!

It's called 'The Wollemi Art Farm' because not only do we do arty things there (like quests and Shakespeare nights), in time we shall fill the place with mysterious and beautiful works of art - constructed from the rocks and wood of the landscape itself.
We have our own trails and views (see below).
As mentioned, we run quest adventures (think: clues, a map, exploring, competing against other teams for glory) - get in touch if you would like to know when the next one is, or if you would like your own private quest. I've included some quest material in the photos (more on our Instagram and Youtube). There is an additonal fee for questing.
Walks:
-Look out for the twin cairns on the north side of the public road, about 100m before you get to the main camping area. Follow the trail to the Summit.
-You can also follow the private road up the hill past the main house (turn right off the public road as if you are going to the Spring campsite, then walk past the 'no tresspassing sign' - you are not tresspassing if you are a guest!). Follow this road for a few hundred metres until you see the rocky outcrop towards your right (the 'Souther Heights'). A sign points the way to a cleft that you can ascend. Two cairns mark this spot. Follow the rocky ridge up for several hundred metres. It's a fine adventure.
Runs. I'm a keen distance runner. I have a range of runs mapped out. These include a 10km loop, longer runs up to 20kms, various reps, and more. The WAF is perfect for your running group getaway.

We offer a basic bush site for self-contained campers and a fully-contained caravan.
At Bushman's Camp we welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. You must have your own amenities. Campsites are accessible for 2WDs and we welcoming camping vehicles. You may need to level your vehicle for a comfortable night’s sleep.
There are a few options for camping. The land is undulating with flat spots, with open grassy areas peppered with gum trees. Other parts are more heavily wooded with gums and natives.
Our caravan comes complete with water, electricity, toilet, 2 double beds, dining area and kitchen. The caravan can sleep 4 guests. Next to the caravan there is room for a further tent, van, trailer or motorhome if desired, for a $35 flat fee. Please add extra guests when booking. Outside the caravan, there is a beautiful sandstone ringed fire pit, BBQ, covered picnic tables, chairs, lighting and some firewood available. You will need to bring your own bed linen and towels.

Campfires must comply with the local fire restrictions and guideline and must be contained in the fire pits provided. Bonfires are not permitted at any time. We recommend campers bring their own firewood as campers are requested to source only small amounts of firewood along the riverbank. Under no circumstances are trees to be cut down. Firewood is available at the Sofala General Store.
Campers are required to bring everything they need and take all rubbish when leaving.

In the early 1970’s Mr James, the owner of 'Biara', subdivided three 25 acre blocks across the road from the original homestead. The first block was sold to his nephew, the middle block was to be purchased by the Preston family and ‘The Gateway’ was purchased by a Mr Carveth.
Unfortunately, the sale of the middle block fell through then, due to family illness, 'Biara' was sold and the family moved to Blackheath. After this move, and as thank you to his son, Mr James transferred the title of the middle of the three subdivided blocks to his only son, William.
Back in the late 1960’s, early 1970’s, the area was vastly different than it is today. Travelling to school entailed a car trip to Hargraves then bus to Mudgee which would have been a 2 hour round trip! The area was far more isolated as there was no power and entailed an overland phone line, which had to be regularly repaired if residents wanted to be able to communicate with the outside world.
The site allows mainly for camping and relaxing although there are numerous dirt roads to explore, Mudgee wineries close by and Burrendong Dam not far away (accessible via Hill End Road near Erudgere). Hargraves is also known for it's alluvial gold deposits and fossickers still go there regularly to check out Louisa Creek.
There is 15km's of dirt road which needs to be traveled to reach the property. Dependent on weather, and if it has been graded recently, this road can be in varying states of repair. In heavy rain it may be difficult to get 2WD access via the public road due to the clay content in the road .
Kangaroo, wallaby, owl species, kookaburra, echidna, snakes, various lizards, including shinglebacks, are often seen on these roads and the property.

Here you can discover amazing wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cockatoos, lyre birds and a lot of other birds (designated bird drinking stations through a WIRES program which has a lot of success.)
Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property.
They are designated walking tracks around the property with all variable lengths & difficulties.

The ultimate Farm Solitude Camping experience for nature lovers seeking adventure, peace and serenity.
This is not a place for parties and loud noise, but if you want to get away from it all and relax in a secluded Campsite surrounded by beautiful Native Bushland or explore miles of trails, gullies, caves, Flight Springs Creek and the exquisite Bow River, take some time to camp at Hillside, which is a remote 2000 acre working cattle property situated 23km west of MERRIWA, 17 km off the Golden Highway, adjoining the Goulburn River National Park.
Most sites are in secluded area's far away from each other but at busy times people may pass by some sites to access the river. There are plenty of walking trails and for the enthusiastic bushwalker, the Bow River winds its way 7km down to the Goulburn River through the National Park with its gentle flowing stream and rock pools nestled between sandstone cliffs of caves.
All sites are pet friendly, but pets must be kept on leash and cleaned up after.
Campfires are allowed when there are no restrictions. Cut firewood is available on request $20 lots, cash only.
4WD and High vehicles are recommended as tracks have rocky outcrops and some areas of loose sand. Some sites can be accessed by 2WD. The Bow River area is strictly 4WD (Low Range) access ONLY as it is extremely steep with loose gravel and rocky outcrops. AWD (All wheel drive) vehicles will not get back out. For all 4WD areas please let your Tyres down to 25psi to help conserve our tracks.
Outback 4WD tracks are now open for campers to explore as well as Hidden Valley.
All sites have toilets, but guests will need their own shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure.

It was a great location full of wildlife! I probably wouldn't go again unless I knew the river was high. It was too low to canoe/kayak and even swimming was a challenge to find a good spot because a lot of the water was stagnant. Otherwise, facilities and staff were amazing.

We loved the peace of having the campsite to ourselves! The view is stunning, the composting toilet is lovely and clean, and there was ample space to set up where we wanted. We chose not to have a fire because the weather was hot, but the fire pit looked really cool!

Great place to camp, wonderful hosts, good amenities located centrally, camp sites spread out so you have own space. Located in a valley with lots to explore. Option to order firewood was convenient. They have a rubbish tip so don’t have to cart rubbish back, like some places. Recommend the place as it’s very well organised and accommodating. Will be going back.

We enjoyed camping at The Citadel. Easy to follow instructions and signage to camp. Nice level flat area to set up tents. Firepit with wood provided. Lovely rock pagodas to explore and the walk to The Summit had specce views . It was really hot during our stay so we enjoyed being so close to Ganguddy where we swam(approx 10min drive from camp). The composting toilets were a short walk downhill from camp (3mins). A great dog friendly campsite

We had a great time tent camping at Wollemi Art Farm.
Peaceful area, we had a few cars go through the gravel road nearby but nothing disturbing.
The few other camping groups we saw were far enough away that we never felt disturbed.
The creek nearby wasn't really fit for our kids to swim in, but Dunns Swamp is just a couple of K's drive away and we all had a great time (and kept cool) up there.

Leanne was very welcoming and communication was effortless before and during our stay. This single site offered complete peace and quiet, surrounded by wallabies and kangaroos against a stunning natural backdrop. The facilities were clean and well-maintained.
We highly recommend adding the Aboriginal experience to your visit - we felt very privileged to participate and it added meaningful depth to our stay.

Nile Offgrid farm stay
My wife & I stayed at Nile Offgrid Family Farm over the Australia Day long weekend in our teardrop camper & it was absolutely amazing,
We were looking for a camp ground that wasn’t overcrowded like others we’ve stayed at before and we couldn’t get it any better!
The campsites are spaced apart enough that you are not in each other’s pockets and this then enables you to truly embrace the off grid camping experience.
We made use of the spa pool on the hill in the mornings and afternoons.
We were able to top up our water bottles & 20l water container at the filtered tap near the main area which also had three toilets & showers.
All in all it was a very relaxing and pleasant stay, we will definitely be back 🙌
