Had a good two night stay here. Nice easy access spot for our van.
Lovely clean drop toilet with outdoor sink.
Fire pit was a bonus to sit around and have a wine as sunset. We're able to gather kindling and some firewood just outside property or bring your own.
Close to Mudgee and surrounds for wine tasting and lunch.
Only minus was traffic noise, but only during daylight hours, no problem at night.Had a great stay.

Bare open paddock with a fixed fire and a great composting loo (best ive ever used).
A little road noise if youre used to dead silence but not intrusive. Not somewhere you'd sit and stay but great for a base to explore from.

Nice spot for an overnight van camp on the way north. Fire pit, clean toilet and sink. Very helpful to be able to buy some firewood for the night too. Thanks Carly!

This was my first time using hipcamp and my first time solo camping with my dogs. It was a great spot for this purpose. Almost completely doggy proof fences (my 25-30kg dogs could probably fit through the fence at the entrance if they wanted but they never tried). My dogs loved all the space and it made my day to watch them run around all happy 🙂
The paddock with the toilet and power is right next to the road so you do get the occassional noise of passing vehicles. It is also the paddock right next to the house but there is plenty of space to keep your distance and I never saw anyone while I was there.
Compost toilet set up was very convenient. I thought it would be your standard gross drop toilet but it was clean, no smells, instructions on how to use correctly. Sink outside to wash your hands with soap provided.
The firepit area is beautiful. They left some wood for me to use but I had brought my own.
It being a paddock there's not really any shade so it wouldn't be a good place for a summer camp but it was perfect for winter.

Loved Romanche gap and its close proximity to beautiful wineries

Great location with easy access to Mudgee, the wineries and national parks.
The camp site was extremely well looked after and had the added bonus of a compost toilet and an abundance of firewood to be used in the supplied firepit.
Carly and Ryan were very informative offering suggestions of places to see and eat at.

This is a great location for basing yourself in Mudgee area for wineries etc. Relatively private as you have the camp to yourself. A new compost toilet and firepit are great, but main site is very noisy being close to the road, and we took the welcome suggestion of locating further down the grass paddock which was a bit better. Need to take your own firewood.

We had a fantastic stay at Romanche Gap.
The site was beautifully neat and freshly mowed, fully fenced 2 acres which made setting up a breeze with our two dogs. The modern, spotless toilet was a real bonus one of the cleanest we’ve come across while camping.
The fire pit was perfect for cozy nights under the stars, and the power outlet along the fence line came in handy. The views of the surrounding hills were absolutely stunning and gave the place a peaceful, secluded feel.
It’s also in a prime location only a quick 10 min drive into Mudgee to visit all the wineries and for supplies, and just 10 minutes the other way to the charming, historic town of Gulgong.

Two night stay. Lovely site, easy to find and access and easy 10 min in to town, close to lots of wineries. Toilet and firepit were both great and lots of wood and kindling available. It is close to the road so there are obviously some traffic noises but had a great time here.

Overall we had a good experience although it was very windy and open. Fantastic new compost toilet. Awesome fire pit. Power access on the fence line was great but there are no trees for shade. Right on the main road between Mudgee and Gulgong. Totally fenced in which is safe if you have a dog…good security with gate.

We had a wonderful trip at Romanche Gap. There were amazing views and plenty of flat open space to set up our trailer and camp. The facilities were all we needed with drop toilet, fire pit and electricity.
The best part was being so close to Mudgee literally a 10 minute drive where we visited wineries and relaxed. It was also a close drive to Gulgong and an arms throw from other great attractions in the region.
Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a great spot.
