A centralised area flushing toilet and a caravan equipped with essentials such as barbecue, tea & coffee making facilities and small fridge is available to all campers but for campers taking advantage of the secluded sites, a portable toilet would be advantageous to bring considering distance from provided site.

There is also bush walking. There is a small common area/ shed available with a bbq for guests to use and a table.
If exploring please do not go through any fences as you may end up on a neighbors property.
Guests may camp as close or far away from the main dam as they like, camp sites are first in first served.
Pets allowed if kept under control, firewood is permitted to be used from the ground only no felling of standing trees, you may have a fire on the ground. NO fires during a total fireban.
Please find your own way to camp by following your map that will be sent to you on booking and the signs that are posted from the driveway on after you turn in the main entrance, no need to meet and greet with host although I may come around occasionally to see if everything is going alright.

Hillsdale is for 4WD drivers only and suits campers who want a peaceful and private place to stay within easy access of all that Mudgee has to offer.

The ultimate Farm Solitude Camping experience for nature lovers seeking adventure, peace and serenity.
This is not a place for parties and loud noise, but if you want to get away from it all and relax in a secluded Campsite surrounded by beautiful Native Bushland or explore miles of trails, gullies, caves, Flight Springs Creek and the exquisite Bow River, take some time to camp at Hillside, which is a remote 2000 acre working cattle property situated 23km west of MERRIWA, 17 km off the Golden Highway, adjoining the Goulburn River National Park.
Most sites are in secluded area's far away from each other but at busy times people may pass by some sites to access the river. There are plenty of walking trails and for the enthusiastic bushwalker, the Bow River winds its way 7kms down to the Goulburn River through the National Park with its gentle flowing stream and rock pools nestled between sandstone cliffs of caves.
All sites are pet friendly, but pets must be kept on leash and cleaned up after.
(Note: The National Park holds its annual wild dog baiting program from the 19th April until 31st October. Baits will be laid approximately 1km from our boundary.)
Campfires are allowed when there are no restrictions. Cut firewood is available on request $20 lots, cash only.
4WD and High vehicles are recommended as tracks have rocky outcrops and some areas of loose sand. Some sites can be accessed by 2WD. The Bow River area is strictly 4WD (Low Range) access ONLY as it is extremely steep with loose gravel and rocky outcrops. AWD (All wheel drive) vehicles will not get back out. For all 4WD areas please let your Tyres down to 25psi to help conserve our tracks.
All sites have toilets, but guests will need their own shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure.
Phone Service is very limited in this area. If you email a request, sometimes it may take a few hours for us to reply.
No motorbikes or chainsaws and no hunting allowed.
WARNING: There are many areas of cliff edges and shear drops! Children must be supervised at all times while exploring these areas. There are also dams at or near some of the campsite areas that could be dangerous if children wander off exploring alone.

Not far from our property you’ll find the Goonoo CCA Zone 1 National Park. CCA Zone parks are Community Conservation Areas reserved as national parks. The greater Dubbo region offers many activities for tourists, adventure seekers and nature lovers.
The Tiny House is fully self-contained with a fold out double bed and a little kitchenette featuring a fridge, microwave, cookware and utensils and a BBQ. The bathroom/laundry are separate.

Great spot to relax, chill and take in the amazing country air and surroundings, relax by a fire, cook marshmallows or a camp oven feast. Walk down to the edge of this campsite and listen to the creek trickle past, go bushwalking, listen to the birds and watch the Kangaroos. Of a night you will be amazed at how many stars you can see, it is just beautiful, so don't forget to look up.

The views were beautiful, instructions clear. Site had plenty of room to manoeuvre our 18.6ft van to a flat spot. You could see sites 1,2 & 8 from our spot. The firepit was fantastic and the stars were stunning - really quiet spot when we were there- would not hesitate to return and recommend.

Just outside Gulgong, we chose Crazy Critters as our base for three nights while attending the Mudgee Field Days. Far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet, yet still close enough to everything!
We love a Hipcamp with a little something extra, and our son absolutely loved the animals—there are lots of them! Lisa was very accommodating, showing us around all the enclosures and taking the time to let us feed some of the animals.
This was a safe place to leave our van while we headed into town for day trips. It’s a very treed property with level camping spots, easy access, and the flexibility to choose where we wanted to set up camp.

Booked last minute and forgot our fire starters but that just gave us an excuse to fully appreciate the stars. Beautiful campsite, easily accessible and lovely host.

Really terrific stay with such hospitable and welcoming hosts, Vicky and Brian.
Tent was well appointed, cosy and warm (the diesel powered heater worked all night) and the campsite was thought out and well equipped.
Shower and hot water worked late at night and early in the morning!
Absolutely recommend a stay here.

We spent a night at Dunollie Ridge late June, in a Camplify small motorhome. Lovely location, not far out of town but feels private. Easy access and great spot above the dam to set up. Adam kept in touch as needed, and set up a great fire for us! Much enjoyed and recommended :-)

A peaceful spot with plenty of grassy space surrounded by tall trees. Basic drop dunny. We enjoyed a quiet night here with only occasional distant road traffic noise.

Pleasant View was a wonderful rural property. The vast open acreage, that we had all to ourselves, was incredibly beautiful and so peaceful. It had great sunrises and sunsets, magnificent skies, and lots of wildlife thrown in. Graham was great. He came to the turn off to the property to meet us to guide us in. We were greeted with farm fresh eggs, and he gave us a number of options of where to set up. He dropped in each day to make sure we were fine, have a chat and to top up the firewood. He also has lots of local knowledge and suggestions of things to see and do. I thoroughly recommend Pleasant View and I know we will be back.

Well organised and Sally was friendly and a good host, good on communication both via phone and in person
Clear on the rules and expectations then left us alone to enjoy the property peace and serenity and most overwhelmingly the stars at night, seeing the Milky Way always makes me feel good and relaxed

We had a really peaceful stay over the long weekend on site 8. Our dogs enjoyed their daily walks where they got to sniff all the interesting scents from the resident kangaroos and bunnies. The only thing to be aware of if you book site 8, is that you may have strangers booked on the same site with you.
