This was a step up in comfort for a Hipcamp with a good shower, power, a flushing toilet and nice level land to park the van. The valley is beautiful, though a tad dry while we visited, but beautiful all the same. Some good rain would be welcome to all who live in these parts.

Its definately off the beaten track. We have driven past the turnoff for 25 years and when we found a Hip Camp site up in the valley it was all the excuse we needed. The camp is at the Old Widden Public School. There are toilets and showers if needed and plenty of space to camp. The sunrise and sunset are next level. Our hosts were super easy to deal with. We are very glad that we made the effort.

Fantastic quiet night. Great instructions. Perfect fireplace, and benefit of having 240v and a roof when a wild storm came through was appreciated.
There is a pump or genset on across st the farms all night. Apart from that, no noise!
Occasional horsey whinny and a few night birds. We spotlighted microbats. Saw lots of wombat evidence but no Wally. Nice chilly, start to the say, with a hill to the West.
Drove further up the valley to walk over Reuben’s trail to Baerami: no go, it means we’d have to access via private property and neighbours at Baramul suggested kindly ‘it might not be wise’..
Thanks Clare we loved the schoolhouse. Esp the monkey bars!

The facilities, including the toilets and showers, were clean and well-maintained. It was great to have access to hot showers. As a tent user, I had asked in advance about the grass length, and it was nicely trimmed just as requested, which made our stay even more comfortable. The site was quiet and offered plenty of privacy. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with hardly anything to complain about. Highly recommended!

Amazing base for our week of fieldwork. The schoolhouse is surrounded by beautiful woodlands and wildlife is plentiful. Great touches to the camping experience from the owner, making our week a wonderful experience.

We loved this place! Located down the end of one way road and almost at the end of the valley, this property feels comfortably remote and secluded.
And the facilities are excellent with power, hot showers, a verandah, plus a large fire pit in the middle of the patio and no shortage of firewood at hand.
If you need to chill for a few days, this is an ideal spot. The access road is sealed and has very little traffic, leaving this ideal for cycling. The hills behind look great for hiking although we didn't get a chance to do that on this trip. But we are sure to return!

I can only say Wow! This is by far the best HipCamp we have stayed in. Such a beautiful space with great ammenities. Clare is a great host and we had an amazing time. Will definitely be back.

Lovely camping at the Old Widden School house. It's at the far end of a no through road, with not a lot of traffic, so very peaceful and quiet. We found a nice flat spot at the far end of the property, and the nature views were great. Electricity worked well and the shower and toilet facilities were lovely! Would recommend.

My family of 2 adults and 1 dog had booked a 2-night stay at Widden School but only stayed 1 night because the grass was out of control. Every time the dog stepped out of the campervan, he was immediately covered in bindii.
Clare was lovely though, she informed us her mower broke down and immediately offered us a refund for the night we didn't stay.

What a beautiful private campsite. Clare is a great host. She gave clear instructions on how to get there and setting up. The toilet & shower facilities were a bonus. Lovely & clean, there was even soap & toilet paper provided ! Loads of dry firewood ready and an awesome firepit. Added bonus was having undercover area to sit when it was raining! Highly recommended. I will definitely be back. Thank you Clare 😊

The facilities were fantastic, definitely allowed us to glamp. Beautiful scenery with great star gazing on clear nights. The local traffic down the one way street was a bit more than expected but we got use to it. Other then that Clare is very helpful and would recommend this place.

What a hidden gem! It's towards the end of a 16km no through road, with no phone reception and only local traffic from the nearby horse business. The surrounding mountains are just stunning. It's so peaceful and quiet, fantastic. Star gazing is brilliant as there's no light pollution. The property is fully fenced which was great for our labrador who could roam around freely. There's 2 toilets and a shower, true glamping. Highly recommend giving this one a go.
