We offer a basic bush site for self-contained campers and a fully-contained caravan.
At Bushman's Camp we welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. You must have your own amenities. Campsites are accessible for 2WDs and we welcoming camping vehicles. You may need to level your vehicle for a comfortable night’s sleep.
There are a few options for camping. The land is undulating with flat spots, with open grassy areas peppered with gum trees. Other parts are more heavily wooded with gums and natives.
Our caravan comes complete with water, electricity, toilet, 2 double beds, dining area and kitchen. The caravan can sleep 4 guests. Next to the caravan there is room for a further tent, van, trailer or motorhome if desired, for a $35 flat fee. Please add extra guests when booking. Outside the caravan, there is a beautiful sandstone ringed fire pit, BBQ, covered picnic tables, chairs, lighting and some firewood available. You will need to bring your own bed linen and towels.

If exploring please do not go through any fences as you may end up on a neighbors property.
Guests may camp as close or far away from the main dam as they like, camp sites are first in first served.
Pets allowed if kept under control, firewood is permitted to be used from the ground only no felling of standing trees, you may have a fire on the ground. NO fires during a total fireban.

In the early 1970’s Mr James, the owner of 'Biara', subdivided three 25 acre blocks across the road from the original homestead. The first block was sold to his nephew, the middle block was to be purchased by the Preston family and ‘The Gateway’ was purchased by a Mr Carveth.
Unfortunately, the sale of the middle block fell through then, due to family illness, 'Biara' was sold and the family moved to Blackheath. After this move, and as thank you to his son, Mr James transferred the title of the middle of the three subdivided blocks to his only son, William.
Back in the late 1960’s, early 1970’s, the area was vastly different than it is today. Travelling to school entailed a car trip to Hargraves then bus to Mudgee which would have been a 2 hour round trip! The area was far more isolated as there was no power and entailed an overland phone line, which had to be regularly repaired if residents wanted to be able to communicate with the outside world.
The site allows mainly for camping and relaxing although there are numerous dirt roads to explore, Mudgee wineries close by and Burrendong Dam not far away (accessible via Hill End Road near Erudgere). Hargraves is also known for it's alluvial gold deposits and fossickers still go there regularly to check out Louisa Creek.
There is 15km's of dirt road which needs to be traveled to reach the property. Dependent on weather, and if it has been graded recently, this road can be in varying states of repair. In heavy rain it may be difficult to get 2WD access via the public road due to the clay content in the road .
Kangaroo, wallaby, owl species, kookaburra, echidna, snakes, various lizards, including shinglebacks, are often seen on these roads and the property.

There are two campsites, Camp Crudine Kitchen and Camp Crudine Riverside. When you make your booking whether for 2 people or a group of family and friends the chosen campsite is all yours for the length of your stay.
If you need supplies Sofala is just 8 km away, drop in and explore the town. Hill End is 28 km which is another Historic town to explore.
Camp Crudine is great for kids and adults alike to have a go at panning for gold or try out the metal detector. All findings must be returned to the host, lol.
Campfires must comply with the local fire restrictions and guideline and must be contained in the fire pits provided. Bonfires are not permitted at any time. We recommend campers bring their own firewood as campers are requested to source only small amounts of firewood along the riverbank. Under no circumstances are trees to be cut down. Relax and watch the kangaroos and eagles from your private deck. Summer swimming in the crystal clear river and winter camp fires where you can toast marshmallows.
The lower level has a cooktop "no oven or fridge share fridge at entrance of park", outside gas BBQ and tables. You will need to bring your own drinking water.
There is a toilet and shower downstairs.
The top deck has two small single beds and one double, quilts and pillows however BYO linen sheets and towels.

It's called 'The Wollemi Art Farm' because not only do we do arty things there (like quests and Shakespeare nights), in time we shall fill the place with mysterious and beautiful works of art - constructed from the rocks and wood of the landscape itself.
We have our own trails and views (see below).
As mentioned, we run quest adventures (think: clues, a map, exploring, competing against other teams for glory) - get in touch if you would like to know when the next one is, or if you would like your own private quest. I've included some quest material in the photos (more on our Instagram and Youtube). There is an additonal fee for questing.
Walks:
-Look out for the twin cairns on the north side of the public road, about 100m before you get to the main camping area. Follow the trail to the Summit.
-You can also follow the private road up the hill past the main house (turn right off the public road as if you are going to the Spring campsite, then walk past the 'no tresspassing sign' - you are not tresspassing if you are a guest!). Follow this road for a few hundred metres until you see the rocky outcrop towards your right (the 'Souther Heights'). A sign points the way to a cleft that you can ascend. Two cairns mark this spot. Follow the rocky ridge up for several hundred metres. It's a fine adventure.
Runs. I'm a keen distance runner. I have a range of runs mapped out. These include a 10km loop, longer runs up to 20kms, various reps, and more. The WAF is perfect for your running group getaway.

Camp Credine was great experience offering a quiet beautiful tranquil location with lots of wildlife and perfect flat area to setup camp 🏕 bye the river.

It was a great location full of wildlife! I probably wouldn't go again unless I knew the river was high. It was too low to canoe/kayak and even swimming was a challenge to find a good spot because a lot of the water was stagnant. Otherwise, facilities and staff were amazing.

We loved the peace of having the campsite to ourselves! The view is stunning, the composting toilet is lovely and clean, and there was ample space to set up where we wanted. We chose not to have a fire because the weather was hot, but the fire pit looked really cool!

We enjoyed camping at The Citadel. Easy to follow instructions and signage to camp. Nice level flat area to set up tents. Firepit with wood provided. Lovely rock pagodas to explore and the walk to The Summit had specce views . It was really hot during our stay so we enjoyed being so close to Ganguddy where we swam(approx 10min drive from camp). The composting toilets were a short walk downhill from camp (3mins). A great dog friendly campsite

We had a great time tent camping at Wollemi Art Farm.
Peaceful area, we had a few cars go through the gravel road nearby but nothing disturbing.
The few other camping groups we saw were far enough away that we never felt disturbed.
The creek nearby wasn't really fit for our kids to swim in, but Dunns Swamp is just a couple of K's drive away and we all had a great time (and kept cool) up there.

Leanne was very welcoming and communication was effortless before and during our stay. This single site offered complete peace and quiet, surrounded by wallabies and kangaroos against a stunning natural backdrop. The facilities were clean and well-maintained.
We highly recommend adding the Aboriginal experience to your visit - we felt very privileged to participate and it added meaningful depth to our stay.

Beautiful spot, we will be back again. The host were incredible. They welcomed us to their farm at the beginning of our stay. But then we didn’t really see them for the rest of it. Location was secluded and beautiful.

What a beautiful peaceful location. We had the place to ourselves. Views at sunrise and sunset were lovely. Kangaroos, wallabies, rabbits and birdlife. You can position yourself right at the vines, which were full of grapes. One very small let down was that we were only informed on the day of arrival, was that the cellar door was closed for renovations, which were were very looking forward to walking up and having a wine/tasting. Highly recommend this Hipcamp.

I set up camp stupidly amongst a fabulous amount of ants so keep an eye out for that when choosing a location.
Close to Dunns swamp for a swim. It was a bit too hot to do the walks however Jamie sent over very clear info. Had it not have been 40c I would have given a crack.
It was "booked out" the night I was there but honestly, it almost felt like I was the only one there. It's a very well managed campsite with lots of space for everyone's privacy. No over booking here.

Stayed here over the January long weekend. Wasn't too busy. Great campsite with incredibly clear night skies. It's not far from Ganguddy-Dunns Swamp where you can swim, paddle board, kayak etc. Had the best toilet facilities I've had camping - running water, a drop toilet with pine shavings. Would definitely return again!

Mudgee Holiday Park was a very pleasant experience. Not too big and has everything you need. Amenities very clean and spacious sites. Took 2 small dogs and lots of places to walk them and a great off the leash dog park nearby

We loved our time at Dunollie Ridge. We expected to find that the previous reviews were over-the-top; Nope, they were not! It's proximity to Mudgee and Gulgong are an additional draw-card if that is what you want, though far enough away to absolutely guarantee that feeling of just being away from civilisation!
Given that the whole area is currently experiencing a mini drought this did not reduce our genuine love of this place, thank you Adam.

Amazing spot, so quiet and peaceful. Loved having the kitchen space as a shelter from the sun.
Plenty of visits from the local wildlife. Unfortunately the river is dry but pools of water and some fish about. Definitely need 4x4 to access.

An awesome spot to stay, I'd say the kids loved the animals but the adults did too! So lovely to be shown around and see all the rescue animals, all the interactions we got with the animals were awesome...watching the pigs get fed, feeding possums, cuddling guinea pigs, and helping to feed a rescue wallaby. Lots of trees around the camping area but plenty of spots to fit into.
We rang later in the afternoon and they were kind enough to let us still book through hipcamp to stay the night. thank you for our stay!
