We stayed at Ellismayne Bush Camping for a weekend and really enjoyed the peaceful setting and beautiful wide-open skies. The sunsets and sunrises were absolutely stunning, and we even spotted kangaroos making their way through the distant paddocks. At night and in the early morning, we could hear cows in nearby fields, which added to the relaxed bush atmosphere.
The site itself is close to the highway, so there was some road noise from trucks and motorbikes — not a dealbreaker, but worth noting if you’re chasing total quiet. The toilet was clean and well maintained, and the dams were a big plus for the dogs to cool off in during the hot afternoons.
There’s not much to do on the property beyond wandering around, so it’s best suited for a quick reset rather than a long stay — unless you’re happy with your own company and the sounds of nature.
Great for self-sufficient campers looking for space, dog-friendly swimming spots, and a laid-back rural vibe.
