The Marthaguy Campground on 'Yarralla' is located on the Newell Highway 5 km south of Gilgandra - The town of the Windmills. 55 km North of Dubbo with easy access to the Dubbo Western Plains Zoo and 80 km South of the Warrumbungle National Park. The campground is 800m off the Newell Highway tucked in on the Marthaguy Creek out of highway sight. Yarralla is a working mixed farming enterprise running sheep, cattle and cropping. The campground also overlooks a large dam with a Jetty. The campground offers a safe and secure location to camp away from town with a shelter shed with water over a sink, a picnic table and a hot shower. Wood is available for a camp fire during winter months.Campsites are located adjacent to the Newell Highway and the Marthaguy Creek. Only 800 meters off the Newell Hwy 5 Kms south of the 'Town of the Windmills', GILGANDRA. Gilgandra is located on the junction of three main highways and we are on the doorstep of the Warrumbungle National Park. Campsites are on flat ground and cannot be seen from the Highway. They are a safe and secure option for the night (no need for caravanners to unhook) or use this as a base for your local exploring for a couple of days. There are no toilets but a hot shower is available. There is a shelter shed with water over a sink and a picnic table. Gilgandra is home to the start of the Cooee March and the history of this can be found at the Cooee Heritage and Information Centre. The Heritage Centre also offers push bike hire. Other local attractions include The Rural Museum, Cactus World, many lovely local shops and the Windmill Walk along the banks of the Castlereagh River. The local Speedway track is opposite the campground. You are welcome to light a campfire during the winter months and wood is supplied.
