We are located close to Dubbo, just off the Newell Highway. Use this campsite as a base and explore the region, or stop over for the night.
Your property will be safe while you're out visiting the local attractions including Western Plains Zoo, Old Dubbo Jail, or Naramine. We have a 100 acres of pasture with lots of Wattle. We run horses, sheep and other farm animals. We have several vacant paddocks at any one time.
Camp any ware on the property you wish (depending on weather and stock) or in a parkland type setting within view of the house.
We welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. You must have your own amenities. Tank (drinking) water is available at the house.
Relax around the campfire in the evenings as you enjoy the stars in the night sky.
The country is reasonably flat and accessible for any type of vehicle. There are areas of mown parkland settings or rough paddocks. You can choose where to set up, the paddock areas can be slashed if required.

So good to have access to a working farm on acreage, a joy to spend time at, made a cracking fire in a cut down 44 gallon drum & enjoyed the location & honesty of the hosts… thank you both so much for having me on your property
I’m an outdoors person travelling & see a lot of beautiful people just going about life… take some time & pay these guys a visit & leave any city stuff in the city & enjoy our beautiful country & meet real people… 👌🏾Djk
Jim and Chris were so incredibly lovely and great hosts!when we arrived Chris took us through the available paddocks and we choose to camp in the front area, somewhat near their house but definitely not right on their front door. We had plenty of privacy and wonderful cuddles with one of their dogs, Brian. The view and quietness was so great, we stayed for 1 night but had a few hours in the afternoon and next morning and honestly is was great. Beautiful property, great hosts and feeling rested and recharged for the rest of our trip!
We were extremely disappointed in the camping options at Luken, so disappointed we left, abandoning our 2 night payment. On our arrival Jim pointed to his front yard and said we could camp there because if we wanted more privacy in one of the paddocks he would have to move some horses. We looked in dismay at the front yard, noisy, with views of junk dumped adjacent and dogs running around. We were travelling with friends and we decided simultaneously we were not staying. Hipcamp needs to seriously consider delisting places like Luken who really have nothing to offer.
This Hipcamp is basically just a grassed area in front of the host’s house. We’d been led to believe that there was a paddock available to camp in but when we arrived we were told that horses would have to be moved if we wanted to camp in the paddock where there was some privacy. In view of this, we didn’t stay.
