Riverside camping at its best
We absolutely loved Sandy Bottom. A secluded camp-site right on the river. Jules and Dave were fantastic hosts. Greeted us when we arrived, super friendly. Our van made it through the gate no problem. We had a fire in the pit provided and enjoyed the serenity. The water was a little chilly but still refreshing. Lots of little holes to swim in. Watching the birdlife everyday was beautiful.
Loved waving to the trains as they passed by.
We will be back. X

Riverside Camping
This place was amazing. The kids (10, 8 & 2) all loved it. We were the only campers there this weekend and it was very peaceful. The trains were not as loud as we expected and the kids enjoyed waving to them and getting a toot toot back, they weren't a concern for us at all.
Will definitely be back :)

Great spot!! Right on the river, very open, very peaceful, very beautiful.
Having said that, please note that on the other side of the river is a coal train line which does have a coal train go by every hour 24/7, however it is not as bad as it sounds as they come and go quickly and we did not hear them at night(maybe just sound sleepers, or was that the alcohol?), anyway, a great spot and we were very relaxed for the couple of days we were there. We will be making this a regular getaway to recharge.
Oh, and give the drivers a wave and you will get a nice toot in return.

Jules and Dave were great hosts, lovely private property on the flowing Goulburn river, the trains did not bother us and we grew to enjoy the novelty of waving at the drivers as they tooted us. Highly recommended.

What an experience!
This property is simply incredible! The hosts were very kind, too; they had a lot of information about the property but were happy to let us explore.
Having just one campsite on the property is fantastic. You can pick wherever you want.
On a side note, the trains weren't too loud from the riverbed camp area; while they get pretty close, they were surprisingly quiet.
100% will be returning!
