3 x 25 acre blocks were originally subdivided prior to the 1980's by the previous owners of Biara for each his 3 sons. He gifted each of his sons one of these 25 acre parcels of land. It seems the 3 sons were not keen to stay around and eventually all three blocks were sold off. The Gateway is the end of these original 3 blocks. The site allows mainly for camping and relaxing although there are numerous dirt roads to explore, Mudgee wineries close by and Burrendong Dam not far away (accessible via Hill End Road near Erudgere). Hargraves is also known for it's alluvial gold deposits and fossickers still go there regularly to check out Louisa Creek. There is 15km's of dirt road which needs to be traveled to reach the property. Dependent on weather, and whether it has been graded recently, this road can be in varying states of repair. Kangaroos, snakes, various lizards, including shinglebacks, are often seen on these roads.

You get an authentic travel experience once you brave the long dusty gravel road. Remote and Picturesque . It’s typical Australian bush.. If you’re looking for quiet time - this is the place. Clean bathroom and toilet facilities are a bonus. The place is a work in progress -which is charming. Great historical towns and surrounds that are worth exploring . We are definitely coming back Sonya you’re a gem and a great host - thanks for making us welcome.

Camping yet again at The Gateway!
Back for another visit to this peaceful location. Convenient to Mudgee area but private. Always happy to return. Description and photos remain accurate.

Always great
Stayed several times now and always come back for the privacy of the large bush block, huge covered area, fenced for the dog and the added bonus of a loo, wash-up area and hot water. Place is looking great and even with a little rain, it's still an amazing spot to chill out for a day or so and unwind

Felt like Glamping!
Now don’t go and get me wrong for any of you actual Glampers as I doubt it’s what you might call Glamping, however we are not Glampers but are absolute Campers and we found this place to be really special and felt spoilt. We had hot showers, a toilet, a kitchen sink with running hot water, a fridge, an undercover area for the kids swags, dining and of course the forge for warm fires & cooking throughout our stay. The wild life was absolutely amazing. Sonya, your camp was exactly what we’d hoped for and more, we will be back for sure.
