The farm features a hempcrete building named 'The Stinking Rose' used for drying and curing garlic, that also acts as a big room for garlic feasts during planting (March, April and May each year). We would like to advise that entry to our beautiful property is a dirt road and does have mounds. The road has just been upgraded and although has dirt mounds is quite easy. The Communal camping area is within walking distance of our amenities block, which offers flushing porcelain toilets and a hot shower. Bush campsites are fully self-sufficient, BYO (bring your own) water and toileting system. All campers are required to take their rubbish home with them as there are no bins on site. Sites available for all vehicle types, from buses and large caravans to fully kitted out off-road vehicles.
We offer a self check-in service with full maps and directions, which means you can arrive anytime you like.

We looked for alternative ways of living 6 years ago so we purchased 220 acres to build an off grid camping/eco resort.
The property consists of a straw bale house, Tipis, Cottages, 5 stars shared facilities (hot showers, flushing toilets - disable toilet ), outdoor kitchen (gas bbq, pizza oven, all kitchen utensils, pots ), solar system and worm farm septic system.
The facilities of the camping are quite luxurious some guests labelling them "better than at home" so you can enjoy the bush experience & still have the comfort of a home.
Here you can discover amazing wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cockatoos, lyre birds and a lot of other birds (designated bird drinking stations through a WIRES program which has a lot of success.)
Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property.
They are designated walking tracks around the property with all variable lengths & difficulties.

Artisans Park is located 45 minutes from Bathurst and is the closest city for food and fuel. We do not have local shops or fuel stations.
The London bus is suitable for children as the upper deck houses the bedroom. The lower deck houses the kitchen and bathroom with a front deck complete with barbecue and amazing views.
Relax and watch the kangaroos and eagles from your private deck. Summer swimming in the crystal clear river and winter camp fires where you can toast marshmallows.
The lower level has a cooktop "no oven or fridge share fridge at entrance of park", outside gas BBQ and tables. You will need to bring your own drinking water.
There is a toilet and shower downstairs.
The top deck has two small single beds and one double, quilts and pillows however BYO linen sheets and towels.
This bus has featured on many TV shows and is often featured
in travel magazines, including
on Better Homes and Gardens television in 2013 and in many magazines shoots.
No pets please. once again no pets including dogs.

In the early 1970’s Mr James, the owner of 'Biara', subdivided three 25 acre blocks across the road from the original homestead. The first block was sold to his nephew, the middle block was to be purchased by the Preston family and ‘The Gateway’ was purchased by a Mr Carveth.
Unfortunately, the sale of the middle block fell through then, due to family illness, 'Biara' was sold and the family moved to Blackheath. After this move, and as thank you to his son, Mr James transferred the title of the middle of the three subdivided blocks to his only son, William.
Back in the late 1960’s, early 1970’s, the area was vastly different than it is today. Travelling to school entailed a car trip to Hargraves then bus to Mudgee which would have been a 2 hour round trip! The area was far more isolated as there was no power and entailed an overland phone line, which had to be regularly repaired if residents wanted to be able to communicate with the outside world.
The site allows mainly for camping and relaxing although there are numerous dirt roads to explore, Mudgee wineries close by and Burrendong Dam not far away (accessible via Hill End Road near Erudgere). Hargraves is also known for it's alluvial gold deposits and fossickers still go there regularly to check out Louisa Creek.
There is 15km's of dirt road which needs to be traveled to reach the property. Dependent on weather, and if it has been graded recently, this road can be in varying states of repair. In heavy rain it may be difficult to get 2WD access via the public road due to the clay content in the road .
Kangaroo, wallaby, owl species, kookaburra, echidna, snakes, various lizards, including shinglebacks, are often seen on these roads and the property.

The London bus is suitable for children as the upper deck houses the bedroom. The lower deck houses the kitchen and bathroom with a front deck complete with barbecue and amazing views.
Relax and watch the kangaroos and eagles from your private deck. Summer swimming in the crystal clear river and winter camp fires where you can toast marshmallows.
The lower level has a cooktop "no oven or fridge share fridge at entrance of park", outside gas BBQ and tables. You will need to bring your own drinking water.
There is a toilet and shower downstairs.
The top deck has two small single beds and one double, quilts and pillows however BYO linen sheets and towels.
This bus has featured on many TV shows and is often featured
in travel magazines, including

In the early 1970’s Mr James, the owner of 'Biara', subdivided three 25 acre blocks across the road from the original homestead. The first block was sold to his nephew, the middle block was to be purchased by the Preston family and ‘The Gateway’ was purchased by a Mr Carveth.
Unfortunately, the sale of the middle block fell through then, due to family illness, 'Biara' was sold and the family moved to Blackheath. After this move, and as thank you to his son, Mr James transferred the title of the middle of the three subdivided blocks to his only son, William.
Back in the late 1960’s, early 1970’s, the area was vastly different than it is today. Travelling to school entailed a car trip to Hargraves then bus to Mudgee which would have been a 2 hour round trip! The area was far more isolated as there was no power and entailed an overland phone line, which had to be regularly repaired if residents wanted to be able to communicate with the outside world.
The site allows mainly for camping and relaxing although there are numerous dirt roads to explore, Mudgee wineries close by and Burrendong Dam not far away (accessible via Hill End Road near Erudgere). Hargraves is also known for it's alluvial gold deposits and fossickers still go there regularly to check out Louisa Creek.
There is 15km's of dirt road which needs to be traveled to reach the property. Dependent on weather, and if it has been graded recently, this road can be in varying states of repair. In heavy rain it may be difficult to get 2WD access via the public road due to the clay content in the road .
Kangaroo, wallaby, owl species, kookaburra, echidna, snakes, various lizards, including shinglebacks, are often seen on these roads and the property.

I like the location, by the river and close to mountains if you want to hike. We did hike during sunrise and sunset, it was great. I absolutely favour the flush toilet and hot shower, plus bins are available.
Communication is great. They give clear instructions and directions before our stay.
I highly recommends this place and wouldn’t mind going back.

Spent NYE out here with the whole family and it honestly felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. The space is big, open, quiet, and far enough from everything that you really get that “middle of nowhere” feeling, which was the best part. No service meant everyone actually switched off and spoke to each other, and the 4WD tracks kept us entertained during the day. Easy access, plenty of room, and a proper bush escape. A really memorable spot and one we’d happily come back to. 👍

We absolutely loved the setting - the nature out there is breathtaking. The hosts are very very friendly and welcoming and gave us total freedom to choose a spot to camp even offered a ride to a neerby lookout in their 4WD.
We did expect the swimming conditions to be slightly different - the creek was dry - and would have appreciated more info regarding that, but again we loved it and deffinitely do recomend to everyone

Spent a great couple of nights here over new years. A beautiful valley with plenty of places to camp up, marked up by campfire spots dotted around.
Great facilities on-site including clean flushable toilets and even a swimming hole.
5/5 recommend if you are looking for a relaxing campspot with some open space and a couple of luxuries. If youre after something more of a wild camping experience it might not be what youre looking for.

My favourite spot I’ve ever camped at in Australia. The location is just spectacular, the light hitting the cliffs at sunrise and sunset was magic, the stargazing was incredible. Jacob and his family/team have thought of everything - just the right amount of comfort (toilets, hot showers, plunge pool, adequate signage, potable water, firewood) without interrupting the sense of being away from it all out in nature. We camped over NYE with our dog and we had the best time - and no crowds at all. Jacob and Mandy were really helpful with any questions or anything we needed. Thanks for having us!

I spent 3 awesone quiet nights at Wanderlust Retreat.The worst part about this place is that I had to leave and go back to reality.I stayed at the Dingo site,super private you would not know anyone else was there unless they walk past your site.You feel like you are out in the wild but only minutes from help.Its ideal for solo tent campers or families.There is a nice hot shower, clean toilets and a camp kitchen with hot water to cook and clean your dirty dishes.If you like bushwalks they have that too.The possums at night are all around and in the morning i was lucky enough to see a kangaroo and joey pass by my camp to check in on me and also a goanna lumbered by.This place is top of my list for getting away from it all.A big thank you to Stephanie for welcoming me and to all the staff who work there to keep this camp clean and running for us to enjoy the wild Australian bush,I look forward to staying there again.

What an awesome location to set up the caravan for 3 nights! We were close to the escarpment so the view was amazing.
We camped near the end where the road goes up to the Wollemi National Park. One day we drove to the park gate and walked to the top of the next ridge. 90 min up and 60 min back down. It is steep.
The plunge spa pool was a great refresher and the small pool in the creek was nice and cool.
Jacob our host was welcoming, friendly and informative.
Would definitely stay again!

We had a fantastic stay at Wonderlust. Our campsite was very private with plenty of open space, making it peaceful and relaxing while still being close to great amenities.
The nearby hiking tracks were a real highlight and easy to access, and exploring the huge cave was an awesome experience and added a sense of adventure to the stay. The kids loved the playground, which was a great bonus for families.
The toilets and showers were a standout — extremely clean, very well maintained, and much better than expected for a camping setup.
Overall, this is a great spot if you’re looking for privacy, space, nature, and proper facilities. We’d happily stay again and highly recommend it.

Great place! Just a few minutes from the Blue Mountains. We chose this spot because we spent the morning exploring and wanted somewhere close to relax, watch the sunset, and unwind and it was perfect. We absolutely loved it.
What I liked the most was the amount of space. The sites are very well spaced out, so you really get privacy. Each site has its own fire pit, and the hosts provide firewood, with the option to buy it from them or collect it yourself, which we thought was a fun little adventure.
They also have the most beautiful and friendly dogs! Michelle was incredibly attentive and welcoming, never rushed us with timing, and we were lucky enough to try her homemade garlic scones and garlic jam from the farm, they were absolutely delicious.
Even though the bathrooms are composting toilets (with sawdust), they were spotless and honestly felt hotel-level, with neatly folded towels and thoughtful amenities.
Highly recommended, we would definitely stay again!

2 nights at Wanderlust Retreat
Beautiful place. We would definitely go back again for some peace and quiet in the wilderness. Distance is not too bad as well given that it’s only 2.5 hours away from Sydney.
Only thing I would want to have differently would be a quick touch up on the trail markers/ropes for the nearby trail. Some of the trees where the markers/ropes are placed have fallen. Nonetheless still an amazing place. 15/10 overall!

Ruhige Gegend mit guten WC‘s und Duschen. Am Abend und am Morgen sind auch Kängurus auf dem Campingplatz zu sehen.
