At Fairy Stone State Park, this place is just as magical as it sounds. Renowned for its legendary stones shaped like those of the fabled pixies, there is something particularly charming about the 168-acre lake and adjoining reservoir. Explore 10 miles of the multi-purpose trail system and breath in that fresh, wooded air. If you're looking for a refreshing dip, the small lakeside beach is the place to be, complete with a concession area to tide over your cravings. Paddleboat or kayak the serene waters,or cast a line in the reservoir for some smallmouth and largemouth bass. Who knows, you may even catch a glimpse of sparkles or flutter of wings that make you look twice.
