This is Ohio at it’s finest. You’re totally going to want to spend several days (and nights) exploring the 2,300 acres of blissed out Mother Nature! Discover caves, waterfalls and wildflowers on one of the parks nine trails, head deep into hemlock forest to peer down the gorge or at the towering cliffs overhead. We love hiking Conkles Hollow Trail. Rose Lake offers fishing while those who want to hunt can head over to Hocking State Forest, they’re practically connected. Challenge your buddies to a round at the archery range, then head back to your tricked out campsite (or cabin), where you’ll have access to swimming and volleyball so the fun doesn’t have to stop! Frogs will ribbit and the wind will lull you to sleep under the stars at Hocking Hills; a day and night full of the finest adventures!
The Department of Natural Resources was created in 1949 and the new Division of Parks assumed control of the Hocking Hills State Park complex, which today includes the six park areas. A dining lodge and cottages were opened in 1972. These cottages, together with a campground, provide overnight facilities in one of the most beautiful areas of our state.
