Located on a peninsula formed by the Chesapeake Bay to the west and the Elk River to the east, Elk Neck State Park is 2,000 plus acres of diverse landscapes including marshlands, white clay cliffs, beaches and heavily wooded areas. It’s divided into four main areas: Turkey Point Lighthouse, North East Beach Area and Picnic Shelters, Rogue’s Harbor Boat Launch Facility, and Elk River Camping Area.

The park is known for its 12 miles of trails in a variety of skill levels, including the easy peasy 1.5-mile Turkey Point loop to the challenging three mile White Clay Cliffs trek that overlooks the Chesapeake Bay. Junior Ranger programs are available for kids and can be an amazing way to instill far more than a high school sweetheart love for everything outdoors.
