Assateague Island National Seashore
Wild horses, in Maryland? That’s right folks, the eastern seaboard does know how to get wild after all, especially at Assateague Island National Seashore. Simply put, Assateague Island is a gem. Jaw-dropping beaches, salt marshes, and maritime forests flawlessly sculpted by the winds and waves of the mighty Atlantic. What’s more is you can camp on the beach, hike on trails with prickly pear cactuses (where are we?), and watch bands of horses frolic amidst the water’s edge as you partake in a picnic. All this wildness will go beyond the formal arrangements of the imagination. You should probably/definitely/absolutely check it out.
