A place to rest your head
Wasn't a huge fan of this campground/campsite. We do a lot of tent camping and this was sub-par. In MN state parks for comparison, non-electric are $20/night and electric are $35/night. These are in settings with hiking, beach, and other things to do within the park. Shadow Mountain is $40/night for a sloped, small campsite, no electric, no privacy (it's a sloped/inclined open field). No pretty views or interesting areas to walk or hike around. Boring, simply a place to rest our heads. Shower house was adequately warm and appreciated. The management office (a general store) was well appointed, but not open early nor late. It's a fair distance outside of Port Angeles. As with Olympic peninsula, you're doing a lot of driving in general to see all the sites. This served out purposes, but I would not recommend.
