Weekend Trip to Coyote Meadow Basecamp

The open field is surrounded by trees which makes it feel really private. There’s ample space between sites and we easily found a level spot. We enjoyed a quiet evening and woke to bird songs the next morning. It’s also close to town where we stopped for supplies, Hurricane Ridge, and the rest of Olympic National Park. We’d definitely stay here again!

2 nights at Crescent Beach & RV

Everything about the campground was amazing! I arrived later into the night after closing but the host Heather kept me updated on the checkin process. I picked site 64 which gave an absolutely beautiful view of the water from my tent, but the wind did give a little bit of a headache while setting up and breaking down camp. The showers were a big plus though! Absolutely would stay again.

Weekend Trip to Olympic Adventure Campground

We loved our stay at Olympic Adventure! John was so kind and accommodating. The campground was quiet, and facilities were clean. Our group tent camped in April, and when there was rain in the forecast, John let us upgrade to a heated cabin. Can’t say enough good things about this place, 10/10 recommend.

Weekend Trip to Shangri La Push

We had a great long weekend at Shangri La Push in our camper. Dale is fantastic and is one of the original HipCamp hosts. Each RV site has power, water and even WiFi with good bandwidth. We loved our time here and it’s just a few miles from amazing hikes down to 1st, 2nd and 3rd beaches.

Johns campsites were a great base home for our Olympic national park adventures. Close to all the major attractions just outside of Forks Washington. Sites were clean and private. Bathrooms were very clean. We met John and had some great conversations in the amazing store admiring all his custom furniture and woodwork. Truly a great place.

Weekend Trip to Wild WA Coast Lookout ($75 - $125)

Campsite #5 (4 people) (2 tents): 1000% worth it, we were able to fit our party just fine. We had 2 large 10x10ish tents and had plenty of room around us. Tent site, picnic table, and fire pit all have beautiful views of the coast. We heard a great horned owl both nights but had no midnight visitors so that was good. The campsite is off the path to the beach which sounds like traffic, but with the little sites available it was truly unnoticeable and only a couple happy walkers. Don’t park infront of the pathway park off to the side. Short walk to the site is just downhill around the bend. You will walk up that to get to your running water/bathroom/super sick awesome outdoor shower. I can’t stress this enough about the shower, it will be top 10 in your life. The bathroom has motion sensor lighting, is bright, clean, and warm. Continuing down to the beach there are many powwow spots for your party and drift tree trucks taller than anyone. Truly beautiful spot and I can’t thank the owner enough for having up!

It’s a beautiful spot with lots around to do. Bathrooms and kitchens are a huge plus too, very well kept.

Weekend Trip to Wild WA Coast Lookout ($75 - $125)

We had an amazing camping at Aliya Preserve. Site 3 is very spacious with a beautiful view out to the coast. Though, it looks like all of the sites are pretty great. There’s an area to the side of the picnic table where we setup our tent that was protected from the wind. The property is very well maintained—great signage, clean restrooms and sink stations, beautiful path down to the beach. It’s extra convenient that they have bundles of firewood available to buy. We stayed in late April and were fortunate to have wonderful weather. Our dog had fun running around on the beach and hanging out at the campsite. Can’t wait to come back!

This is a great place to camp. Perfect spot just outside of Forks where cell service still exists. Will definitely visit again. Grounds were clean, sites spacious and easy to find and John is just the best. Keep up the great work!

We've stayed here a couple times and it's always been a positive experience. Clean bathroom and shower, hook ups, and super convenient location for Forks related activities. John the caretaker is very friendly. Highly recommend.

2 nights at Shangri La Push

Dale is a great host; very helpful and proactive with suggestions of the best places to visit. It's well-located as a jumping off point to all the scenic beaches and hiking nearby. I lucked out on timing because when I arrived, I had the tent camping area all to myself. Others came in the following evening, but the vegetation and strategic parking still provided an atmosphere of privacy. The shower, bathroom, and outhouse options were a nice perk, too. I highly recommend this little bit of paradise!

We only stayed one night, but it was incredibly peaceful and restorative. The ocean view is breathtaking, and the meditation area was such a calming, special space — we felt relaxed the moment we arrived. The outdoor shower was perfect: private, refreshing, and made the whole experience feel even more connected to nature. Even in a short stay, we left feeling recharged. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful escape!

2 nights at Camp Clearwater

The camp was closer to the road than I expected but was not an issue at all. Virtually no traffic on it especially at night. It was so cool to see the elk casually grazing in the pasture. We even got to see the ravens and the herd run a curious coyote off in a concerted effort. I am not a cougar expert, but we are pretty certain we heard one or two of them around camp on our first morning. The parking spot for the camper was very level and nice with plenty of room. Electrical service was great. Nice picnic table and fire ring with plenty of wood. The porta John was clean and in a good location. Thank you for a beautiful place to stay and a great first experience with Hipcamp!

Coastland Camp "Relaxed by Nature" LOCATION ~ PRIVACY ~ SAUNA Wilderness wellness awaits at our rainforest campground on the border of Olympic National Park. Enjoy easy access to the river, forest trails and world famous Rialto Beach. Dry campsites are self check-in and have a picnic table and fire ring (use is subject to Clallam county burn regulations) and require a short walk from parking area. Water, a portable toilet, shared sauna and hot shower are located centrally on our 12 acre property. Our favorite thing about this land is it's energy. People often make a point of telling us that they leave more refreshed and relaxed then when they arrived at our coastal rainforest property. We believe that connection to nature leads to connection with oneself and are happy to provide an access point to all that Olympic National Park, and La Push have to offer. With Rialto Beach just 3 miles away, we are a perfect base camp for must see locations, including the Hoh Rainforest, Cape Flattery and Ruby Beach. The town of Forks is 12 miles away. SITES 1 and 2: Camp sites are a short walk from the parking area and porta-potty and have access to a wagon to transport gear. Please do not drive across our property, or you will be asked to leave. Guests have access to our sauna, outdoor shower, dishwashing station and porta-potty which are centrally located on our land, just walk up the grassy hill from your campsite, there are signs to help find the way. We request that you only use biodegradable soaps and shampoos to preserve our watershed. Please ask if you need anything. Drinking / potable water is available out of the tap of our dishwashing sink or lower field hose bib. The sauna is available for guests on our property and we encourage you to try it out. If you have never used a sauna before, please make sure to check out the sauna etiquette sheet. The West End is majestic, and also a rural working landscape which means occasionally you may see or hear activities related to agriculture, forestry, and rural life. You'll need to pack and dress for the weather (colder) and bring a sense of adventure!

Ranger Creek Campground

Camping is in an open field just off hwy 112, and is surrounded with trees. We offer fire pits for bbq only (bring your own briquettes), and an outhouse. Hand sanitizer is available in the out house, which we sanitize everyday. We are close to the Elwha river and numerous hiking and biking trails. Seventeen miles outside of Port Angeles. Distance from the campground: Olympic Discovery Trail - 1 Mile Elwha Interpretive Center - 2 miles Mouth of Elwha River - 2.5 Miles Salt Creek - 4 Miles Port Angeles - 7.5 Miles Lake Crescent - 15 Miles Also, you'll want to bring your own briquettes. We have BBQ pits for your use. Coming along hwy 112 from Port Angeles you'll cross the intersection of Dan Kelly/Place Road and the highway (don't turn here, stay on highway 112). If your navigation software tells you to turn on Dan Kelly, turn it off. We are NOT on Dan Kelly road. We are on hwy 112. We are the first left, just after the guardrails. Down the gravel road some 75 feet, turn right at the "Ranger Creek Campground" sign and follow the unimproved road about 100 feet to the campground. Campsite 4 is the first one you'll see, further down the road campground 1 is on the left, campsite 2 is on the right, campsite 3 is strait ahead. Please respect the privacy of the other campers. In the rainy season the road in can be slick. Four Wheel Drive vehicles are recommended in the case of large amounts of rain, or snow. Not recommended for RV's or trailers over 15 feet. Pack your own trash out please.

The Rustic Retreat

We will be open for our 2nd Season on May 1st, 2025. We are still updating the sites so as soon as they are complete I will update the pictures. Updates for this season: We have added, moved, and changed the the name of some of the campsites, so if you are a returning camper double check the campsite number before booking. One change is, Former campsite 1 (the pond campsite) has been changed to a communal fire pit with log rounds for sitting. This is the only firepit that will be allowed on the premises due to fire danger. The firepit can be used by all campers until the Clallam County burn ban comes into affect. During the burn ban, the firepit will be closed off. We have also added walking trails, more lighting and parking. We have not been able to get fish in the ponds yet, however some wild ducks stop by now and again to say hi. Come enjoy the serenity of The Rustic Retreat. Located on 50+ private wooded acres, over a mile off the highway our tent sites you will give you the peace and quiet you are looking for. The night sky is clear and perfect for star gazing. This place truly is a piece of heaven. As of right now we have large and small tent sites. There are ponds to look at and eventually they will be stocked with fish. The campsites are not completely flat and may have a few small holes so please be careful and watch your step. A lot of this property has been left natural for years and we are trying to keep it as natural as possible. We are just starting out so this place will get better and better as time goes on. We at The Rustic Retreat value your privacy and we try not to interact with campers unless you request. The Peninsula Northwest has some amazing activities including hiking, biking, fishing, crabbing, shrimping, whale watching, beach combing, Kayaking, and so much more. The Rustic Retreat is about 20 minutes from downtown Port Angeles and the Victoria Ferry and about 30 minutes from Lake Crescent. It is the perfect place to stay in between everything.
