Rest &amp; The River

Feels just like camping out in the woods, but with the added benefits of a picnic table and port-o-potties. The host came by at one point and was very friendly, and had the cutest dog buddies with him that were nice to visit with for a minute. Two things to note that weren't as expected is that for site #5, unlike it says in the listing, we weren't able to park in the site due to a stump in the way. There was a space to park really nearby, though. It worked just fine for us, but something to be aware of if you have a rooftop tent. There also is no port-o-potty at the 4 way stop as is indicated on the map, but the other two were there and the walk to the closest one wasn't very far at all. One even had a REALLY cool rustic shed type casing. He also added motion lights to them, which was incredibly helpful at night. The space for a tent at site #5 was also much larger than it looked in photos, we were pleasantly surprised by that, it felt like a sweet little private clearing. It was a very peaceful place to stay. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to see the river (we were basically there to eat dinner and go to sleep), but we would absolutely book again if we come back to the area in the future, so maybe we will see it next time! :)

Campsite #1

We loved the setting, it’s beautiful and quiet! It’s a bit more “roughing it” than we are used to since there was also a burn ban(no fault of the host of course) and the roads are a bit rough so I can’t really recommend it to my Rv friends. But we would come back, especially loved campsite #2 when we explored them all. I recommend for seasoned campers! You definitely feel like you’re getting away from everything.

We loved camping on Mike’s land. It was our favorite campsite. It is very very beautiful and spacious. There’s tons of bugs. There was a lot of slugs everywhere, which was both freaky and cool. We loved the moss covered trees that canopy over the site.

What a beautiful campground! Spaces feel private. Everything is clean, including the porta pot bathrooms (they looked brand new when we arrived on a Friday). Absolutely keeping it in mind when we’re in the area again!

Nice private site. Lots of outhouses around that were decently maintained. My dogs loved the trail down to the river and splashing around. Will be be back!

Proximity to Forks is great and easy to find. Nice to have access to the river. The condition of the road around the campground was not known, muddy and rocky. It was not known that campsite 5 doesn’t allow you to park directly at your site. A bigger deal for families with kids.

Site 2 was beautiful with nice large trees and ferns all around. AWD recommended for the 150 foot drive to the site from the main loop, but otherwise it’s a smooth easy ride out. The campsites well spaced. We really enjoyed the site

This site was great! Close enough to town that you can run in for a quick stop if you need anything, far enough away that it felt secluded. It was beautiful and well thought out. My group has titled it "Slug City" for all the cool slugs you'll find! Mike, the host, was very friendly when we ran into him. I would definitely recommend this site and would come back in the future.

This campsite was soo incredible. I was skeptical but the outhouse was clean. The actual campsite was gorgeous and private. We were next to one other campsite but there was a good wall of trees separating us. The river was gorgeous and slow for swimming. The campsite was easy to get to and while it felt like we were immersed in nature we were also so close to forks which was nice for U.S. twilight fans.

A very basic campground with minimal facilities. The restrooms are portable toilets, and the campground gets quite muddy after rain. Some of the roads are difficult to navigate when wet, and the signs could be much clearer. Fine for a simple overnight stay, but don’t expect much beyond the basics.

Beautiful property, but REALLY no amenities. Getting back to site 11 in rain and mud is not pretty. Portapotty was full. Be careful to turn into the proper driveway less you want chased down for turning in neighbor’s driveway.

Perfect camping spot near Forks

We loved our campsite! Just a picnic table and a firepit and a pit toilet nearby. It’s car camping but you’re not right up on other spots. Theres a ton of mossy trees and vegetation all around, and you’re in the woods. The 2-3-min walk to the river is lovely and the river is beautiful and would be easy to play in (when we were there is was a lazy, slow river). There were mosquitoes, but they weren’t as bad as we expected and only got a few bites before we got the bug spray on. Mike was responsive but left us to our devices and that’s what we liked. It’s a 4-5 minute drive to Forks and so we had 5G service and easy access to the grocery store and such. This is a fabulous place to use as a base for exploring the area!

Camp site 5 was very beautiful and also it was very buggy. It was hard to hangout at camp but made a nice place to sleep while exploring the park. The river access was also very nice!

Nice and semi-remote camping area right next to the Sol Duc River. It’s in a great location for getting to many spots in Olympic. The campsites have enough space and tree covering between them and are tucked away from the main road! I would definitely camp there again.

Very beautiful place! The river is nice and close with a decent swimming while. If you have problems with mosquitoes come prepared.
