Great spot, very private location with access to surrounding trails. Site was clean and well maintained. Pigs, geese, and chickens were a nice highlight too.

My second stay at the Button Farm. It’s always great supporting a non-profit (Menare Foundation) that believes in sharing the heroic history of the Underground Railroad. The Big Field, is vast, peaceful, and always provides a great opportunity to see the sunset below the trees. Great access to the local Rec trail for hiking, trail running, and mountain biking.

Steve and Tony are doing a great job maintaining the land for visitors!

Button Farm was just what we were looking for on our weekend camping trip! It was easy to access, tons of space for our group of two in the Big Field site. We easily fit our tent, EZ up and vehicle with the fire pit area and picnic table and could have easily had more guests with a few more tents. The Big Field site is tucked away and private but a quick walk to the main farm site as well as an entrance to the White Trail in Seneca Creek State Park which is great for mountain biking or hiking.

I had a great time camping here. The clearing was well-kept and very private, situated in the tall grass of the field. I had a small herd of deer visit me during the day, and enjoyed watching a group of birds of prey make the rounds over the field. This site is situated in some semi-rural properties, and there's an orchard and a vinyard (maybe more?) a short drive away. There's also a Harris Teeter a couple miles away if you find you need anything. The host was super friendly, and left me to my solitude the whole time.

Spot the birds!Panoramic view of the site. Ignore the voids - no wormholes were present. Spot the deer!

I loved how we had the campsite to ourselves. We knew there were other campers but we didn’t see them at all. I loved how each campsite had its own “privateness”. The campsite and overall surroundings was neatly kept and when my group and I arrived, we were immediately entertained by the staff.

The site was beautiful, and we felt welcomed. Steve showed us to the site, and told us how to contact him if we needed anything. We felt peaceful, and it was so fun to see the geese, chicken, and pig! This was a great place for stargazing, and we had a clear night for it and saw several meteors. We would come again and recommend Button Farm.
